Jingles is quite the little poser! Kringle is orange so I have to love him, but Noelle is really my kind of cat.

Mistletoes and Holly are leaving foster next Saturday. They are one ounce shy of 2 pounds so they should be spay weight and ready for surgery. I am going out of town for a few days and need to thin the foster herd down so Linda won't completely be overwhelmed while I am gone. Will see if my neighbor and her mother can cat sit Jingles and Kringle and that would leave Sabrina with Noelle. Hopefully Sabrina won't feel the need to pee and poop on my bathroom floor with only one kitten with her.

You mean Sabrina prefers a HERD of kittens?

I'm glad they are making their weight and can get on going to their furrever homes.
They are cuties and should be adopted pretty fast.
Plus you could sure use a break from kittens for awhile Kritter.

You mean Sabrina prefers a HERD of kittens? I am not sure what Sabrina prefers but I would prefer that she didn't poop and pee on my bathroom floor which happens when a bunch of kittens are here. I am hoping that she will go back to using the litter box if there aren't so many kittens watching her every move.

When I talked to the rescue last night, she wanted me to keep them all until after Thanksgiving even after I told her I was going out of town and didn't feel comfortable leaving the 5 of them here with Linda only checking in once or twice a day. After I weighed Mistletoes and Holly this morning and saw they were close to 2 pounds, I emailed her and told her we were going to Plan B and I was bringing them to her this Saturday at the Petsmart Adoption event. Haven't heard anything back from her but they are going in this Saturday. Shirley, I am definitely ready for a kitten break.

Me too. I love the little guys but when they hit this stage, it is time for them to go out and find their furever homes.
I just checked the rescue FB page and she has their pics posted that they will be at the Petsmart on Saturday for preadoption. She hasn't answered my email so I don't think she is that happy but she should be glad she is not getting all 5 back this weekend.

They're pretty little kittens and should have no trouble getting homes. They'll end up being good-lookers when they're grown up, too. Probably elegant.
Pffft to what adoption lady's not happy with. It's not like you don't pull your weight (and more) in the system.

I predict that there'll be pushing, shoving, and maybe even fistfights at Petsmart next Saturday. People are going to be fighting to be first in line to adopt those two!

She is already getting responses because she emailed me and asked if Holly was a male so somebody must be looking for a male kitten.
If Holly was a male, I wouldn't have named her Holly.
Got an email from a neighbor that has 9 feral kittens in her backyard and wants help with taming them so they can be adopted. This is the first year that I can remember in the 10 or so years since working with rescue and shelters that we will have kittens for Christmas. By this time of the year, kittens are always few and far between.
It must be an el Nino thing.

NINE feral kittens? How does that happen? Did two or more mums choose her backyard for their confinements?

They aren't all the same age apparently. I am getting ready to call the lady back in a few minutes as I asked her to get more info. Same mom could have had both litters with just long enough in between to go into heat.
I need to move and change my telephone number.

No, it wouldn't be great.
I would probably have to dust and step up on the housekeeping so watchers wouldn't be grossed out.

I know, I know, I push forward with that in mind but somehow I always fail to carry through with that directive. I am so easy.

But that would make the kittens two weeks older and harder to socialize.
I am hoping that they are considerably older than 6 weeks which would make the socialization less likely.
No sense thinking about it until it materializes.

The lady sent me pics of the cats and in the pics, they do look older than 6 weeks. Two of them may be 8 weeks or so but I am going to have to see them in person.
Not committing to anything until I see them.

Tabby, you know I will do that just for you. It might not be until later today as I am in the weeds right now with stuff that I have put off way too long.
