Good grief you have your hands full.
Hope you can get the Momkat and the kittens before they get too wild.

Well, the military foster is off the table. The owner decided to surrender the cat to the shelter instead of the foster situation.
I know the shelter charges each month for the foster so that might have been a deal breaker.

She's adorable. I'm sure she'll be snapped up fast. Whenever there's an injured animal up for adoption here, there's always a lot of interest in adopting which results in a drawing.

I hope it's a no kill shelter, kritter. Yes, it is the Humane Society. They are no-kill here. The rescue that I am fostering the kitten for is excellent with their adoption procedures plus she takes back any of the cats if the adopters turn out to be idiots. She picked up a cat from a vet yesterday that she had adopted out last fall. The people had the exterminator at their house and now the cat has neurological damage and the adopters say they can't afford the vet bills. Now the cat is at a specialist facility here under observation to see what can be done.

Once you get it, it's yours, in my opinion, and you have to work with it. Especially if you poisoned it...sheesh! My best cat was a wild little thing, used to climb up my legs for cuddles and pounce at me around corners. The rescue lady didn't think I'd keep her because her brother had just been brought back for being too wild. But here we are, nearly 12 years later, happy as Larry. And she's still a bit too claw-happy. lol.

The vet is doing a complete blood panel and toxic tests on Dandie, the poisoned cat. They wanted to be sure she would make it through the night before running all the tests. They have her on meds and fluids and she is hanging in there. With way too many people it is easy to love an animal when it is all fun and games but as soon as an expense comes into play or something the animal does is inconvenient, the animal is on it's own.

Poor thing. Adopting an animal is for their lifetime, you can't just toss them aside because they get inconvenient to your schedule or they get sick. The foster I get the MomKats from is real picky about who they let have animals. But they still occasionally get them back because people move or say they just don't have the time. Makes me sick how indifferent people are. If they can't find time to put out food and water for a cat how in the heck do they take care of their kids?

Yep, Shirley, no matter how good the screening process, idiots get through because they lie.
Thats what happened when Tanji was adopted. Fortunately, it worked out that Tanji had to come back for a checkup on his amputation and when the vet saw Tanji, he called the rescue. There was a hold put on Tanji for medical reasons and he went back to the rescue. The adopter got refunded and she was blacklisted on the local Do Not Adopt list.
Tanji came back here to recuperate and I kept him.

My sister has a habit of getting animals put down when they bore her. She took in a stray female cat who promptly had kittens, which my sister took to the vet. She kept the mother but got sick of her a year later and had her put to sleep. Then there was the dog who wasn't a puppy anymore, the birds, the fish she neglected to death. She wasn't much good at gardening, either. Some people just can't look after anything/anyone other than themselves. I suppose their kids survive because they can make noise to demand things and it's easier to shove food at them than listen to them crying.

LOLOL Peek, she told me this morning that her name is Trixie. I told her to make sure because once it is written down on her chart, that is what it will be.
Just weighed her and she now weights 1.5 pounds.
I can tell she is feeling a lot better because her cage is always a mess now. For the first couple of days, it was so clean but now there is litter everywhere.
She loves playing with her little stuffed toys but every time I try to take a pic, she stops playing and comes to the door of the cage.

I was cropping these pics to post and it looks to me like Trixie could be a boy. Guess I should take a closer look at the actual privates.
