OMG!!!!!
Savannah got a hit on the rescue website. The lady lost one of her senior cats and wants to know what the requirements are to adopt Savannah.
I have never been on the adoption side of rescue so I am at a loss.

Thank you, ladies.
I am taking her to her new home on Saturday.
Now I will have time to get Sabrina ready to roll.

Hopefully Sabrina will settle down and be calmer when she is on her own. You are my cat hero Kritter for all the good work you do with the fosters.

I think Sabrina will do well once Savannah is gone. Sabrina tries to interact with me but Savannah rushes up and hisses her away. Thank you, Shirley, but you are no slouch in the foster department yourself.

Eh, I just do the kittens and they are a lot easier then the older ones, those just break my heart and I want to keep them all. Bitty has been in with the kittens all day so they should be calming down pretty soon. Last time I looked they were all curled up in a ball sleeping. She finally found playmates that could match her energy wise.

If I were the one wanting to adopt her, I'd hate you for doing that. LOL Not if you saw all the hair that is coming off her now and she doesn't like to be brushed. I offered to get her groomed with a lion cut to the adopter and she said "Yes, please do it". One of her current cats is a Persian so she already gets the hair thing. I was hoping she would have said "no" because having her done where I took Tanji last year is not cheap. Not many groomers here will do cats so the price to get it done is a lot more than getting dogs groomed.

A long time ago I had some really small just totteering around ones like 4 weeks old on my kitchen floor for some reason. One of my cats was playing with them and was kinda skooting them across the floor with his paw. Not hurting them at all. I think Tabby might remember that cat from the AB. We called it 'Kitten Bowling".

They had been playing catch my paw under the door for a few days so I decided it was time to get them together. They all seem to be enjoying it and the kittens are a bit calmer and don't run from me as much.
I may have a home for the Momkat, fingers crossed, and the kittens are cute so this early in the season it shouldn't be as hard to find homes from them once they are tamed a bit and weaned.

Definitely fingers crossed for the Momkat. She deserves to find a good home.
We are already deluged with kittens here. That rescue that helped me with Savannah already has 30 kittens in foster ready to go into the Petsmarts that she adopts from.
She pulls many of her cats and kittens from the city Animal Care Services and simply can't turn them down when she goes to the facility.

Dang, that's a lot of kittens. It's not that bad here, yet, but it will be soon.
They just started a new promo for spay and neuter and it's super cheap or even free. I wish more people would take advantage of it.

We have had low cost/no cost S/N here for years as the city has been working towards a no-kill shelter but it is so hard to get people involved. At one time they were taking mobile S/N clinics to neighborhoods and even transporting the animals to the locations from their homes and still not getting the expected response.
The people who do seem to care are not living in the designated "free/low cost" zip codes most of the time or not able to physically TNR the feral cats with not enough volunteers to help them.

The program has been running here for quite awhile too. They have several vets on board who take the vouchers to do the surgery and a couple of the mobile clinics too. The latest promo enters anyone who participates in a drawing for a 42" flat screen TV. People here just don't want to bother getting their pets fixed, so it takes a lot of nudging and offering free stuff to get them to take that step. It's even worse with dogs, they do NOT want to get male dogs fixed. It's a bit of a cultural issue so it's hard to break generations of machismo ideas. The county shelter wants to go to no kill, but there are just too many animals. So the small shelter groups take in what they can and work on getting them homes. I just don't let myself think of how may are lost and try to save the ones I can.

I think Tabby might remember that cat from the AB. We called it 'Kitten Bowling". Sure, I remember, Kritter! That was Jackson, wasn't it? And as long as we're strolling down memory lane --- I also vividly remember our "Kitten Rodeo" the day of the bathroom jailbreak -- LOL!

LOLOL Tabby, it was Jackson. I couldn't remember which one it was. It was Jackson.
When I was typing about the Kitten Bowling, I was thinking about the bathroom jailbreak. Remember how every time we would slide a kitten back in the bathroom, another one would scoot out. Like lil Jack in the Boxes.
Of course, it wasn't helping that we were laughing so hard. Good times, really good times!
Shirley, we have that same cultural machismo thing going on here too.
The only way for people in rescue and foster is to think about the ones that are saved. Otherwise it is way too depressing.

OK, Savannah is at the groomer and is not a happy camper. She didn't get to crunch this morning because I am sure they will have to sedate her.
New groomer there so I told her what I wanted. She looked extremely bored and was complaining about how many cats that she had to do today. I should have walked out the door with Savannah but I am don't know any place else to take before Saturday.

I signed the paper to have Savannah sedated for this experience so I am expecting that will happen to ease the stress level for both parties involved.
LOL Tabby, of course there will be pics especially for you.
Well, whatever happens, its not like Savannah is going to be in a cat show this weekend.

I don't think she'll care how it looks, she's not going to enjoy her spa day either way. I'm anxiously awaiting some pic's!

LOL Savannah is home and she looks like a different cat.
Will get some pics later this evening after she has had some time to recuperate.
