Well, my wet food buffet was a colossal fail overnight but the outside kittehs had a feast this morning. Still no signs of eating and drinking but at least they are showing their faces and don't disappear when they hear me opening the door. Sabrina Savannah

I am going to take my camera with me tonight when I go in with them to read so maybe I can get some pics of Savannah walking around like she did last night.
I read out loud to them last night so they can get used to my voice.

That's a great idea! I am sure you posted this somewhere but how many cats do you have?
I used to be a CCL. I had cat everything. From clothing to dishes, jewelry. You name it! Oh the knickknacks! When I got married it got down sized. Then every time we moved it got smaller and smaller. I even have an old pair of my Avon cat earrings up for sale right now. I still find cat stuff cat but sadly I no longer have a cat! Now my oldest DD is allergic so we can't get one. I miss having one so I really enjoy everyone's cat posts!

They are beautiful Kritter.
Baby steps, one at a time.
The reading is a good idea. I do that with the foster Momkats and it seems to relax and sooth them.

They are really soft. I would love to get after them with the Furminator because I bet they have never been brushed. Heck, I would love to just touch them.

Awwww... just look at that adorable little stripey face on Sabrina! Sorry that they're giving you a hard time, Kritter, but they're gorgeous, so it's no surprise that they are also difficult little DIVAS!

Pretty coats, and such sweet little faces! My vet sells plug-in pheromone dispensers. We used one the first 2 months we had our new kitties, and it seemed to help them. Do you have anything like this? www.feliway.com/us/

What great little fluff balls! Reading to them is a great idea!
A neighbour of mine had a great dane named Ebony. Ebony liked being read to, so when she was visiting one day (I was looking after her), I started reading her Winnie the Pooh. Ebony was so happy - she tried to climb into my lap. Urg.

I have tried that Feliway both here at home and in the Cattery when I worked at the shelter.
I have never really seen any results but I know others have.
I think I am going to put some knit mice in a catnip bag for a few hours and see if they like catnip tonight.

Beautiful cats. If I ever have the opportunity to go looking for a specific breed cat, it would be a ragdoll.

I'll tell you what I told another friend who tried to hook me up when I posted on FB about wanting a calico - if I could have more cats, I'd already have 10.

I wonder if Hootie and Savannah would get along? Love her face. As days go by I hope to get a better idea of their personality if they have one. Savannah seems to be the more adventurous of the two and according to the owner, the more affectionate. She used to sleep with him at night. One thing for sure, they are not as bonded as I expected. I think they could easily be separated if that were ever the case.

Wonder if Sabrina would rather be an only cat? I asked Hootie if he'd mind having Savannah, told him her story (he was on his blanket on the desk here). His first owner had to surrender him, that's how I got him, from the shelter. I reminded him of that and turned the computer around so he could see Savannah's picture. He looks at it, then gets up and walks over to me, purring and wanting a head bump. I don't know if that was cat for "sure, go for it", "hmmmnn I'll think about it", or "you have ME what else do you need?".

I think Hootie fell in love with Savannah and her story.
Sabrina did let me get close enough to her this afternoon to smell my hand. I was afraid she would take off but she held her ground.

YES YES YES............MAJOR UPDATE
Savannah came out of hiding last night while I was reading to them. She walked around the room, walked out into the hall, and then came back and jumped on the couch with me. She is a major love bug. Loves being petted and chin scritches.
Sabrina is still keeping to herself on the cat tree but does not have that panic look in her eyes.
Definitely eating and drinking going on overnight and lots of litter box action.
Will get some good pics of Savannah today. When I went in this morning, she came up to greet me and asked to be petted so it looks like she is over the hurdle.

Sabrina is starting to come around. She was in the little house in the cat tree and after she sniffed my fingers, she let me pet her. Last night she did get down off the cat tree and walked out into the hall and back while I was in there with them. On her way back to the cat tree, she saw Savannah and hissed at her. Savannah seems to be afraid of her so I don't think these sisters were very bonded or even friends at their house.

Savannah still hangs out in her corner during the day but comes out and hangs with me when I read to them. She is a sweetheart and definitely would be adoptable to a furever home. Look at all that Hair!!!! We might be visiting a groomer before long.

They are absolutely gorgeous. I actually has 2 females cats names Sasha and Samantha (I did a double take when I read the names). It was years ago and they were both himalayan cats, very sweet personalities. Sasha was a blue point and Sam was a seal point (very similar to your Savannah).
It is great that you are reading to them, and it looks like they really responded well.

You've done so well with them Kritter, love, good food, and that special CCL voice is bringing them around.
