Mandy is adopted into a perfect house with perfect furniture and shiny floors with not a dust ball in sight. Not one thing out of place anywhere.
She was just there for a meet and greet but after Mandy walked right up to the adopter first thing out of the carrier, the lady was hooked. I had taken all the paperwork, toys, and food because I would have been very surprised to bring Mandy back here after a rejection.
Mandy was running full speed down the hall with feet scrambling for traction when I left.
Happy life, Mandy girl.

That is exactly what I was thinking too. I took a cardboard scratching pad along with the toys but that is going to be an exercise in futility.
Mandy definitely hit the new home jackpot. Not an adoption that I have any concerns about at all.
I think Mazie is going to luck out tomorrow too. Her new dads have already bought her a "cute" carrier and a load of toys. Now I have to spin magic for Milo and Marco.

LOL @ "Crazy" Mazie! Is she crazy? She definitely fits that name. A true calico of the 3 color sisterhood. Mazie just left for her new life. Her dad totally loved her and she actually behaved and let him cuddle her. I told him that I was expecting lots of pics. Have the best life, Mazie girl!

It seems like everybody always wants kittens. I need to get some good pics of Mia.
Mia is a sweetheart and has been so patient by herself. She really gets down with the toys in there with her and the rug is always twisted and turned so I know she has a good time playing by herself.

OK, time for a PSA. Anyone here wanting to adopt a cat, Mia is a gem. She's pretty, she's friendly, she's not really all that old, and she's not a huge cat. She's also content to be an indoor cat, from what Kritter has posted. If I had a house, I'd adopt her.

I'm discussing cats with the DH again. I do not want kittens and would prefer yearling or older. Thing is, we really need a bonded pair.

Thing is, we really need a bonded pair. Not necessarily. I've been a single cat owner for decades and the cats and I were happy. We had single cats when I was a kid, too. I didn't get a second cat until I got Trixie, but at the time Hootie was a single cat and quite happy about it. The cats don't have to come from the same litter to bond, either. It was love at first sight for Simon when he met Twila, and she took to him as soon as she checked out the house.

None of my cats came as a bonded pair and they bonded once they worked their way into the clan. Some are more bonded than others but that is their personality.
Oh wait, Terrell and Chanel came together but Terrell will bond with anything that comes through the door to their part of the house while Chanel is a litle more standishoffish at first but she will eventually cave to the kittens.

Hmnn. Do Terrell and Mia get along? They're both awesome cats - friendly and affectionate. They would make a great pair.

Not sure about them yet. Once the kits are gone I am going to open up the whole house except for my bedroom and see how it goes. Terrell has followed me into Mia's room a couple of times and no fireworks so there is hope.

Don't tell Daisy, but I think Terrell and Mia are now tied for my favorites in your house. But Daisy is really close to the top

Both of them have risen to the top for me too. I feel bad for Mia because I can't spend that much time with her but things will get better once we get through the kitten boom.
Terrell is special because even after a year of me cramming meds down his throat, he still likes me. He is a very forgiving cat.
I am been sending toys you have given us out with the kittens when they go to their new homes. A little "have fun" from us.

Except this time I may have the shipment delivered to you, so I don't accidentally put it in the dumpster again I can always tell you which pieces are for me and come pick them up

I'll discuss it with the DH, who is the crazy cat gent - it's basically who needs the rescue the most. We'd like to have the home renos done before any new family members move in so all of the noise and mess doesn't freak them out.
He hasn't always had bonded pairs, either, but it worked so well this time because we were overseas so much. He once had five cats and apparently they all got along, though they sometimes crowded him in bed (they all slept with him). He said once after he broke his femur and was flat in bed with plates and bandages, his cats were so worried that they all cemented themselves around him in bed and he had to holler to get help to extricate himself lol. He said the 'purr therapy' helped the healing, though.

The latest batch are going to be spayed/neutered next Wednesday and go back to their location. They are over 8 weeks and not 6 weeks or younger like the lady told me.
Socializing kittens this old can be done but very time consuming and the chances are that you end up with 3 more Murphy's and I don't have room for one more Murphy much less 3 more like him.
Angie has a foster request for four 4 week old kittens but they look older than that in the pic that she sent me.

I will get some pics tomorrow. Their two litter mates have been caught and are going first to Angie's house for a day or two and then coming here.
These will be the D kittens. The two boys here are Diego and Dickins. Diego is black and Dickins is orange and white. They are at least 6 weeks old, maybe closer to 7 weeks.
The bathroom is not big enough for all four of them so going to move the two here in with Terrell and Chanel so they can start their personal space lessons.

Meet Diego. He is the more outgoing and fearless of the two. And Dickens who is slowly coming around but a little shy still.
