Got the momkat, Mia, spayed last Wednesday and she is sharing a room with Lilly, the blind feral. Lilly may or may not be happy with her roommate but it is hard to tell as she sleeps all the time. No hissing coming from that bedroom so I guess its all good. Haven't posted her for adoption yet as she is really skinny and needs to beef up a bit.
The kits are 6 weeks old and they are now in the main bathroom. Mandy and Mazie are the calico girls, Milo is the tabby boy, and Marco is the black/white boy. They are way too cute and will probably be on a flight to Seattle once they are old enough to be spayed/neutered.
That's one fine-lookin' flock of felines you've got there, Kritter! ❤️
Tabby, I have 16 cats in my house now...16! You have been to my house....16 cats.
The 4 kits are at the bathroom door wrangling stage plus Fletcher is not helping when I try to stuff then all back into the bathroom.
And a lady came over to drop off a donation check this morning and Terrell who was in the living room for the first time shot through the front door and took a hard right down the side of my house. I was able to scruff him before he got to the neighbor's yard but it must have looked like quite a show to drivers passing by. None of the Missy family will go near the front door when it is open but Terrell pulled a major jailbreak.
Yikes! A serious attempted jailbreak, plus a batch of Jailbreak-From-The-Bathroom kittens!
Wow, Kritter, sounds like you've REALLY got your hands full! Wish I could be there to provide some wranglin' help.
Good times back then, right?
The kits can just jailbreak into the hall and maybe the foster bedroom if they are fast on their feet but Terrell's attempted escape was scarey. He shot right past us on the porch and was around the corner of the house headed east in a nanosecond. Fortunately he stopped to check his bearings and that gave me a chance to head him off at the pass. Will be a long time before he is back with the Missy who didn't seem to mind him in their space for the short time that he was there.
Can't say as I blame Terrell, given how long you had to stuff him with meds Kidding aside, I'm glad you were able to catch him before he got into traffic

He hooked a hard right after he got off the porch and headed toward the neighbor's house. I grabbed him as he passed the end side of my house so he didn't get off the property. He put up a fight once I grabbed him but this was not my first cat rodeo so game, set, match, the escape was thwarted.
Maybe it's just the angle on pics post #241, but Marco looks like he has a Batman vibe with what looks like a black bat on his back as well as a black mask.

I will try and get a better pic of him. He is the whiner of the group and always first to the canned food dish when I set it down.
I wasn't sure where to put this but I knew I had to share, it wasn't a cat funny but cat related. Made me specifically think of Kritter. Made me cry this morning but not out of sadness. You all may have seen it but it was new to me.
All the little cat spirits were crossing the rainbow bridge when one of them looked back and saw some cats' souls laying on the other side of the bridge, not moving. “Who are they?” he asked the cat next to him. “Oh, don’t you know they are the souls who had no owner in life and knew no love like we did." “So what are they laying there for?” he asked “Why don’t they cross over like us?” “They can’t.” replied his new friend “Only pets with owners can cross." Just then all the souls on the other side of the bridge sat up and looked down the road. "What’s happening?" asked the little cat. “Watch!” replied his friend. Whereupon a woman was seen walking towards the bridge. She looked to her left and then to her right then opened her arms wide and all the patiently waiting souls got up and went to her. She knelt and touched each and every spirit in turn. They then all proceeded to cross the bridge together. “Who is that?” he asked his friend. “That is someone special.” replied his friend “She is a rescuer." 🐈🐈⬛🐈 – Author unknown
Yep, I have been working on their adoption photos. Marco and Mazie are going to stay with a new foster for us tomorrow so trying to get some good pics of them.
YAY!!!! Fletcher is going to his new home tomorrow. All this time with no interest in him. After this adoption was approved, two other people inquired about adopting him.
Speaking of Kritter's fosters, Little Miss WTF figured out how to play fetch this morning. Simon and I were playing and I tossed out two balls instead of one, thinking one might district her and Simon could fetch the other one. She noticed he wasn't playing like she was and she watched him, and copied what he was doing. (She's like the annoying little sister who wants to do EVERYTHING her big brother does, LOL!) It took her a few tries to bring her ball all the way back to me, but she finally did. If you think one cat playing fetch is cute, wait until you see two playing fetch
Mazie and Milo are leading the adoption contest with two applications for each of them. I haven't even posted the link anywhere except here so I guess all this action is coming through Petfinder. Going to post the link on ND tomorrow.
The kits went in with the Missy family this morning. They need to explore new locations and make new friends. Plus time to give Chanel and Terrell a much needed break from kitten sitting. I wanted to see if they would hide in a new location but all 4 of them are out and about checking things out.
Up at the crack of 7:00 this morning to get my kits to the spay/neuter clinic to be first in line. Two of them have not had their first FVRCP vaccination yet so wanted them done and gone before they started on all the feral surgeries. Going around noon to pick them up.
They are home and walking around growling at each other. Mazie was being such a jerk that they put a towel over her carrier like they do for the ferals. She kept reaching out and dragging the towel off the front of the carrier. I think they were glad to see her go.
Every time Jamie Furry Butt and Cassie the Tux went to the vet, when they got home Cassie would furiously hiss and snap at poor Jamie. Jamie had no problem with Cassie smelling like "vet". More than once I saw Jamie just do a one-paw take-down of Cassie, casually bowling over the hissing, snapping little thing as she walked by.
