I have tried everything including catnip and he prefers to stay on the dark side.
If he is sleeping in the room where the cat boxes and shipping boxes are, he will prefer to break his neck making a speedy exit then take a chance on me getting near him. Most of the time I don't even know he is there until feet and boxes start flying.

That's sad, poor Augie. He looks so pretty and cuddle-able.
But some cats are forever wary. My Lydia comes for pats and things but still, after 11 years, she flinches away from my hand when I first reach out. And Lamington took 10 years to realise that I was the nicest creature in the house and the ones he'd better be careful of were the other cats. lol.

I have some pics but haven't tried PB lately to see if they are working.
I don't really like that Imgur place but I guess it is because I am not used to it.

Tell her she'll have her own bed soon.
Well, as soon as I know what she prefers. Cats are weird about their beds.

She really has a cute little face with a tiny mouth.
And she is definitely getting some longer legs on her.

And she is definitely getting some longer legs on her. All the better to climb and run and pounce with! Val has some fun times ahead, lol.

Trixie has decided that beds are not her first choice for sleeping. She now either sleeps on one of the cat trees or on this thing.

She is so beautiful! She'll probably sweep Hootie off his paws.

Awwww. She'll fit right in here. Hootie's not overly fond of his bed either. I have the really soft microfleece throws all over the place and he loves sleeping on them.
I don't think I've ever had a gray striped tabby kitty before.

Considering what she has to do to get space in a bed, can't say as I blame her for her new sleeping choices.

I guess I better put the cat tree together this weekend.
Although Hootie has been perfectly content to just sit on the box and survey the living room.

I've thought about getting one of those things, Kritter. Does it see much action or do they generally ignore it?

This one doesn't get as much action as the other one that has sisal or something on it.
I will post a pic of the other one later and if you are going to get one, go for that one.
The Missy family is really good about scratching posts, turbo tracks, and the like. They use them all including the sisal that is wrapped around their cat tree poles.
Yep, Val, get that cat tree together. Trixie loves cat trees.

My cats won't go near sisal, even with catnip on it. They prefer carpet. Of course.
As long as Hootie helps Val put the cat tree up she'll find it a breeze! lol.

You know, that might work, because that cat in the pic is in the preferred scratching position that my cats use. They like to crouch. All the sisal things I've had have been straight and vertical.
Hmmmm.

Augie doesn't like vertical scratchers either but he likes this one because of the crouching thing. If he is crouching, it is easier for him to take flight if I happen to accidentally glance in his direction.

I noticed!
Kritter, one day I'll send you some kangaroo snackers to try on Augie. Total cat crack. If they don't send him into a frenzy of love, nothing will.

I think Augie will be the one cat in the world that will resist them.
Maybe I can order the snackers when I order my next package of Revolution.
