Toby was picked up from the mean streets on 8/13 with a degloved lower mandible or in my terms, his lower lip had been torn off. He was too little for surgery then so no repair was done until yesterday. The rescue that I foster for had a "hold" on him so I picked him up today to recuperate for a week or so in foster. Meet Toby....He is 8 weeks old and weighs 2.3 pounds.

Sabrina doesn't know that he is here. I have him bunked in a cage on the coffee table in the den where he can be around the action.
I took the pics on one of the cat trees in the living room. Daisy and Lucy checked him out and then wandered off to see if there was fresh food in their bowls.
A new kitten in the house....Whatever....
Grace, he is doing really well. He is eating dry food and drinking water like normal. These guys bounce back so fast fortunately.

He has just been here a few hours but I think we have another Jackson in the making.
Totally fearless and full of his kitten self.

Yep, another pistol just like Jackson.
He has that same spark in his eyes. Gonna be one heck of a cat.

Toby is a handsome little devil (I have a soft spot for grey kitties). Can't even tell he had surgery on his face.

After reading his medical stuff, it looks like the 3 stitches were done on the inside of his mouth. The skin from underneath his mouth was pulled up and stitched over the lower mouth bone.
Definitely a great job by the vet. Both Toby and Jackson had their surgery at the city shelter. It is amazing to me that with all the animals that come through their door, they took the time to fix their injuries when they could have euthanized them and it wouldn't have counted against their no-kill rating which they are so concerned about.
I am so glad that they did for them and for all the others that they have saved.

Yikes! Looks like you've got another little ninja assassin on your hands, Kritter. He'll be turning the Missy family into "the Toby family" in no time.

He won't be here that long, tabby. Probably only a week or so.
I let him out to play this morning and Lucy and Daisy showed some interest but the others just watched him play on the cat trees and then went back to sleep.
He is too big for kitten bowling.

LOLOL I will try and get some tonight.
He is fast on his feet and usually a blur in the pics.

I'm glad he's feeling frisky and doing so well.

I am going to have a trackball clinic tonight so maybe I can get some pics if I can hold his attention long enough.

Sprinkle a little nip on it and that may get him to hold still for a few seconds at least.

Didn't even need the nip. He was all over it. A video would have been great but no smartphone here.
