She was very loved at the end. My vet was booked back to back forward and backward yesterday so I didn't pin her down to a time when I could be there at the end. I knew she would do right by Mandy.
When I picked Mandy up, the vet tech told me that my vet held Mandy in her arms next to her heart after she injected the final meds. I couldn't have done any better.
Mandy is now with the other kittens in the Kitten Memorial Garden in my backyard. I know Claus is showing her around The Bridge so she is in good hands.
The week I had to put Toby to sleep was a rough week for them I think. When I came back the next week to pick up his cremains, their back counter was full of funeral home bags. Times like that, I don't know how they do it.
we had planned to move 3 of the kits over to my house today but over the weekend, there was a ringworm outbreak so that has been cancelled. The kits are definitely unhappy because now they have to stay in cages instead of free roaming all over the room. Jail break attempts are occurring.
Meet Fletcher! Daisy told me that was his name but she has been known to lie. Fletcher was grabbed from underneath a car at a strip center in 98 degree heat this afternoon. He is trying very hard to be feral but I think he may be acting. Time will tell.
Too cute! With those ears, he should be named Gizmo!
I asked Daisy and she said 'No, his name is Fletcher." He is too busy making a freaking mess in his cage to make any comment.
Last night he turned over his water bowl and then jumped around in the litter box with soaking feet. Had to give him a bath from the waist down because litter was stuck to him like glue. The cage looked like a tornado went through it. I miss my sweet Twila.
This is not a feral kitten. Fletcher is a devil kitten sent to make sure that I am up to my cleaning skills.

In that case, put a white stripe down the middle of his head and instead of Gizmo, call him Stripe.
Sorry, but you're not getting Twila back. I wake up most mornings now with her and Simon on the foot of the bed. This morning she let me pet her and scratch her tummy while I was making up the bed.
They went wild with the toys last night though. I picked up about 10 toys this morning that were all over the place.
LOL, even I would never sink low enough to name any animal "Funnel Cake". Funny you should mention FC because I was thinking of my love Barney and how he's doing. The "lovebirds" pic of Simon and Twila reminded me of pics/video of Barney and FC together.
Looks like Fletcher's an angel- when he's sleeping.
I need to stop looking at NextDoor. Post showed up on my feed today for FREE from your neighbors. Up comes a pic of this cat with "needing to be rehomed immediately". Intact female cat now in heat. Original owner paid $500 for her and this poster bought her from that person for $100. Now this person is going to move and needs to rehome cat plus another cat with 5 kittens. Beginning to sound like a cat hoarder but maybe not.
I am seeing breeder cat in my mind so I contact the lady. She wants $100 for the cat but I tell her that I don't buy cats but I can rescue them, get them vetted, and then adopted. She is coming around to that plan and then she mentions the cat family. First things first with the Siamese.
I need an addition to my house. Have no clue where I am going to put this cat but figure we can get her adopted in Seattle where we have been so successful. At least, that is my plan.
Original owner paid 500 for her. Didn't like how loud she was and beat her. When she didn't shut up her dumped her in front of his friends apt door in our complex but she has baby and an autistic kid who doesn't know how to be gentle. He was too rough and she bapped at him so she threw her out. No name given. No papers given he just wanted her gone. And her friend couldn't keep it cause the kids. The cat made her way to me cause I feed outside cats that are too feral to catch and i have no resources to try to vaccinate or anything. She stayed with me. Then went into heat. Been trying to rehome her since I found her but when they aren't fixed its hard. And no one has told me or wanted her cause now loud Siamese are.
Poor kitty. That's just so sad, and I'm sure there's more to the story...
I know. She is trying to do what she can. Angie and I with Val's help plan to start a 501C3 to accept donations to help out with situations just like this one. We have referred people in the past to contact the vet's office to help with vet bills but there are always circumstances that don't fall into that area.
The lady is also helping a "fat" cat that ended up with 5 kittens who are now about 10 days old. It is hard to walk away from somebody who is in way over her head doing the right thing.
