Dandelion is home with me in her cage in the den watching Deadly Women on I.D. after a big afternoon at the vet.
We had sent the previous vet records and X-rays to the vet ahead of time so she could get a grip on what the issue was.
She thinks that Dandy has made some progress in the 2 weeks since her visit at the ER vet as they said that she had no response to any pain stimulus but she definitely had reaction to pinching her feet and tail today so that is a good sign. She won't walk on her own but will move her legs and feet when held up with a slight pinch to the tail.
So the next two weeks will determine what the prognosis for recovery is. They showed me some therapy things to do with her plus she will be getting 6 sessions of laser therapy with the first one today. Hopefully her elimination issues will also improve with the therapy and laser treatments.
This is the first vet that Dandy has seen that gave any kind of going forward treatment instead of just writing her off. Doesn't mean that Dandy will get any better but at least there is something we can do to try and make that happen for her. she deserves a chance.
Since this is technically a city cat we are posting it on Nextdoor to get some donations toward paying for her laser therapy. She will have the therapy no matter what but at least it doesn't hurt to get some cat lovers involved.
Putting some pics in the next posts.

Her first laser therapy session The vet said that we would know after the next two weeks of therapy what the chances of recovery are. We really need the Cat Goddess to step in for Dandelion as long as she is in the area.

She is a real sweetie too. Can't imagine how she got herself in this fix. She was originally found by a passerby who took her to the ER vet.
She is about 6 weeks old now so about 4 weeks when she was found. It would seem like if she was hit by a car or attacked by a dog or whatever, there would be nothing left of her.

She sooooo cute! I hope therapy works. I’m betting it does because she’s so young.

So what are the therapy things you have to do for her, Kritter?
If she had no wounds it wasn't an animal, and a car would cause more damage, probably internally too. I have a horrible feeling that a human was involved. Maybe someone kicked her.

The whole thing about how she was found etc. is really weird. I guess we will never know but it is really baffling for sure.
Doing some exercises banding her right above her back legs and lowering her into water so she will hopefully move her back legs in response. Plus massaging the muscles in her lower back.
Don't know if I am doing any good but at least it is a try.

SOOOOO darn cute. She has "I'm a fighter" in her eyes. She isn't going to give up. I wonder if someone kicked her & it caused trauma & swelling to her spine that will heal. Thank you for giving her a chance.

There was a mention of a puncture wound on her side when she was found two weeks ago but it must have quickly healed because it is not there now.
We did the message therapy tonight but she wanted to play and kept biting at my hands.
I really don't know how much good I am doing with this project.

In between bits of massage. It's only been like a day so you can't possibly expect to know if you're doing any good yet. But this is life and death for little Dandy. I know it's time you're probably needed elsewhere, but it's only two weeks to give this little bumpkin a chance. A bit of play, a bit of massage, dip her in the water and play with her while you dry her footsies...she'll get the routine pretty quickly if you're consistent.

Those eyes and those ears! The fact that she wants to play is a good sign!
LMK - I'm willing to chip in a bit to help you guys out with the laser treatments - it won't be a lot but it'll hopefully be some help.

chapeaunoir , that would be great and we really appreciate it. We felt that we really need to give her a chance with the laser therapy. Don't want to leave any option untried. The vet is Alamo Hills Animal Hospital and the number is 210 804-2000 if you want to use a credit or debit card. Just tell them it is for Dandelion with Dr. Campbell. They all know who she is. I put some of those plastic balls with bells in her cage with her and she is banging them from one side of the cage to the other side. Thank you from Dandelion. It takes a village sometimes and every dollar counts. The city will only pay for basic services for the animals so something like this is beyond their frame of paying reference.

Happy to do it! Is there any way I can just paypal you the money? I'm a little concerned about using a credit card over the phone these days.

Sure, chap. that would be fine. I will PM you my Paypal info. We will be at the vet 3 times this week for laser therapy so I can apply your donation to Dandelion's account.
I don't know how much good I am doing with my feeble therapy attempts but we are trying our best.
Thank you from Dandy!

Doing some exercises banding her right above her back legs and lowering her into water so she will hopefully move her back legs in response. The problem with this is that she might just get used to the water and go "meh" instead of "oh no, no, wet stuff on my tootsies". I wonder if there are other exercises you could do to keep the routine fresh?

Awwwwwwwwww! She's all ready!
I'm thinking that the improvement will be very incremental (there's a lot of stuff to heal and there's probably nerve regeneration and nerves take the longest of anything to recover because they are very slow growing) so it'll take a while for results to show, but one day you'll see them. She's got both hind legs to get going again. After my awful accident stunt riding it took me over a year to be able to really walk properly again, and month after month passed with me plodding through therapy before I could even get off crutches and a cane and creep around. Then suddenly boom! I was able to walk normally to the mailbox and back and after that I just kept going. It was because there was so much nerve damage in my hip and pelvis. So don't give up - it's very necessary to keep her getting stronger and its going to take a while.

And we are back from therapy.
The tech said that she was a lot more feisty today during therapy so she might be getting some feeling back in her legs and was feeling the warmth from the laser.
Next appointment is for Thursday because this tech is off on Wednesday and I want her to stay with the same tech.
For sure it stimulated her bladder because she has peed a bucket since we got back home.
Six baths later......
