I wanted to get some "airjacket" envelopes, but I don't want to spend any money, so that limits me to the 6.5" x 8.75" size. Hmm. I might do that.

I got my 12 X 15 envelopes today. They're exactly what I need. The eBay logo doesn't bother me that much. It's the "Put this bag to good use, start selling" blurb the still doesn't make sense to me. I showed them to DH and he was like "what does a used bag have to do with selling?"

Just received mine today. I got the padded envelopes. Same size as the PFRE but can be used for first class. They have double adhesive strips with a perforated line between them. so they can be used a second time-maybe that is what they mean by 'put this bag to good use'.
Labels can cover the wording or logo but not both.
Hope we don't get more return requests because of how easy it will be to use the same bag to return.
I really like them. They will be good for things with buttons, buckles or other sharp edges.

Got my first order of smaller ones today. They aren't too shabby and will work perfectly for smaller shirts and t-shirts. My two orders of bigger polys are on the way. I'm satisfied with how quickly they came too.

I am so aggravated that I didn't read about the one time thing. I got 100 of the 12x15 polys and wanted tape. I didn't know I couldn't go back and get the tape when it came in.
So I had a 50 credit and wasted half. Good old ebay!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't want to waste the rest of the coupon amount so went ahead and ordered a second set of 100, paying $17 over and above the coupon amount. Got my order today...but only received 100 of the 200 I ordered. I wrote the seller but haven't heard back. Gonna be really ticked if this turns into a problem.

You are lucky...I had a $75 credit and only spent $22. I have never used a cart, so didn't even think about it.

Denise - you should write to them and explain what happened. That's ridiculous to lose that type of money. They did not make it clear enough to everyone how this would work with their wording of "one time use, non-transferrable to another person". They never followed through to say if you don't use your whole allowance in one SINGLE transaction you lose the balance of your credit.
So many buyers purchased one item, then went back to purchase another immediately, and couldn't. And they were out of tape, so they should allow those buyers to go back and use the credit for tape when in stock.
I wonder if they will be getting neuts or negs over this. It IS a bad transaction for the buyer.

You are right, but I was thinking that I would have to call eBay. Will try that.

I wrote to the shipping place and they replied (as I expected) that I have to call eBay.

Its kinda like when buyers don't read the whole listing or look at all the pictures. I don't have a store so didn't get the coupon or whatever but if it said "one time use", I would think that would mean that you could only use it one time and then it is done. Flame away, I can take it!

Got my box of envelopes yesterday. I only got $25 to spend, so that took up almost all of it & they arrived quickly. Fed Ex even brought it up the mountain! If enough people complain about how they rolled out the perk and how many people got ripped off by the one time use plus out of stock issues, they MAY issue some coupons or something. Keep bitching! Will have to say, that is the stupidest wording on the envelopes. I know others have commented on it. Was that the best they could come up with? I am doing a bit of copy writing for some local stores, and even I could have come up with a better, clearer tag line than that. Geeesh.

BUT, I had TWO asparagus stalks this spring until my SIL tilled up the garden so grass can grow there.

Not dumb, Denise. I do the same thing. I sometimes read what I want it to read or read what I think it should read. Next quarter you will know what it really does read. I think a lot of our buyers may do the same thing.

I agree Kritter - we SHOULD have read it better. I went back to read it now, after the fact. www.sd.ebay.com/subscriberdiscounts/viewOffer/ShippingSuppliesBasic
Here is the answer under Frequently asked Questions - It's the last question under REDEEMING COUPONS and clearly spells out the rule on unused credit. But the rules in this link are for ANY ebay coupon, not just for the ebay shipping supplies in general. pages.ebay.com/coupons/faq.html#1-7
For Denise's case, too bad they never mention anywhere in their rules to put your items IN THE CART for this to work properly. Nowhere on any of the rules listed in the links do I see anything about placing items in the shopping cart to maximize your purchase.

Thank you. They did a good job of hiding that link and not telling anyone where/how to find it. I would think a message with the coupon code would have been a lot more straightforward. Then again, more people would have known about it and gotten their free supplies. This way people might even mess up and assume they'll be credited.

So, I just used the first of my free envelopes & I noticed that there are 2 adhesive strips to seal it & a blurb about it being "reusable". I guess that makes the slogan on the front make a little more sense but who reuses poly bags?
I'm sort of shocked they didn't suggest something to the buyer about using it for returns. Still a waste of good advertising space to me.

Still a waste of good advertising space to me. I noticed that also yesterday when I used the first one. Most people cut or just tear into the envelopes anyway. And, do we want more sellers or an easy way to send returns back us? uh.... I think not. The whole thing really makes very little sense. You are right kid, they could have put just about anything else there to promote sales. Go figger? I'm not knocking free supplies by any means, but the ones really making out on all of this are paypal who gets a fee for each transaction, and the ones producing & selling those supplies of which I am sure eBay is getting some kind of kickback. The ones really getting hurt are sellers already on eBay that have been selling just the generic supplies for years. I am sure they will see a big drop in business that would normally come their way. So, to make up for that, they will probably raise their prices.

I ordered some of the bigger envelopes, the ones sized a bit bigger than Priority Tyvek. The bags are nice, but I noticed you can use it twice. Once to send and so conveniently again when the buyer decides to return it. Freaking Ebay!

Probably not what we are supposed to do, but I just pull the plastic off BOTH sticky strips and close it using both. Bad bad bad me.

The ebay envelope store prices are double what I pay elsewhere, so yeah, they're making a profit.

Can the "start selling on ebay" line be covered by the shipping label or is it too low on the bag?
Maybe this is where the free colored logo tape would come in handy - just tape right over that line.

It's so dumb - ebay makes a LOT more money on FVFs in having more sales to more BUYERS than they do on the pittance that it costs sellers to list something there. More sales means more people will open stores (paying store fees), and do more listings (more fees AND more FVFs).

Thankfully nobody reads and if they did 99% of them would get halfway into the listing and think this is bs.

I think there are a number of reasons for the double seal. Yes, it'll make it easier to return something, although I don't think the lack of an envelope will stop someone from returning anyway. I think their biggest motivation is to increase the chance that one way or another, the bag will be used twice, which is twice the advertising. IMO, the motivation for the free shipping supplies is advertising, pure and simple. Since Ebay doesn't have fulfillment centers like Amazon, this is the only way for Ebay to get their name out in the mail stream.
I received mine the other day and used the first one Tuesday. I like them and with the tear off, they'll be much easier for buyers to open; an added benefit that might reduce the number of people slicing the contents when they open the envelopes.

Yeah, the start selling line is much too low for the label - believe me, I wanted to do that too, but it just wasn't feasible.

Has anyone gotten feedback from them on your shipping supply purchase? I just checked and they still haven't given me feedback - I gave them a positive with 5-stars when I received my boxes over two weeks ago. I wonder if they can be that backed up - looks like they are giving it out daily.
I wonder why they don't follow ebay's suggestion to give feedback as soon as the buyer pays?
