I'm a Top Rated Plus and the rates that show for me are in my post a few back. Looks like there is no difference between TRS and TRS+ shipping rates now.

Thanks for the update Val! I was holding off on relists for PFRE items. Wow, that's a big increase on PFRE's :-( I charge a handling above the retail cost, which is now $6.80. Ouch.

I sell a lot of items that ship at 3 oz. I was paying $2.04 & now it's $2.60
The retail price of $2.54 is for pay at the P.O. and does not include tracking I don't think. First Class at the P.O. never included tracking before, anyway.

TRS and TRS+ got the same rates before when shipping via eBay Shipping. I was sort of hoping for better rates for TRS+. Dumb of eBay not to do that, this time. I suspect more sellers may decide the hoops aren't worth jumping thru.

Yep, TRS+ - 5.90. I think I'll go with 5.95 for these - 3.95 for 9-15 oz - 2.95 for 2-8 oz. easy enough to deal with. Now I have to make some changes.

Are you a TRS or TRS+? Ship via eBay Shipping and you'll get the $5.90, if you show flat rate cost of $6.80 on listings (what the buyer will see at the USPS site if they decide to look), you're still getting $0.90 handling/profit.

There were a number of conversations on the eBay boards about sellers saying they'd drop their 30-day returns to 14-days if they didn't get the shipping incentives. Can't blame them... too much stick, and not enough carrots. ETA: Val, you still have to figure in the 10% that eBay takes and the cost of supplies. So, that 90-cent difference isn't quite the whole bottom line picture.

Padded PMFRE went from $5.35 to $5.90, via eBay shipping for TRS & TRS+.
FC at 13 oz (former max wt) went from $3.63 to $3.50, via eBay shipping for TRS & TRS+.
Anyone ship at FC 15 oz yet today?

I figure I lose between 10 and 15% to fees off the shipping costs.

Just TRS. It's not about THAT 'profit'. For those of us who charge an actual handling charge, (not just the difference between retail & our rate), it's going to increase the price quite a bit. If I charge $2 above the retail rate of the PFRE, that's now $8.80, almost $9.00. That's the price of regular Priority, basically. I always saw the PFRE as a lower priced option & it no longer seems that way, that's all. I'm going to have to think about this. I keep reducing my handling charge every time the USPS makes a change :-(. I definitely think I'm going to have to with this increase.
ETA: To expand on that a bit. If the price is way lower for a PFRE, then I can justify squishing items in there & I think the buyer can justify it b/c they are saving a lot. If however, the price is basically the same as normal Priority, then I & they can't justify squishing stuff, when I can pack it into a Priority Tyvek, for essentially the same price & it will arrive in much nicer shape than squishing.
I'll have to look to see if regular Priority has also increased in price.
Yes, I know I can just cut out my handling charge & none of it is an issue.

Add your handling charge to the item price. Same net effect but posted shipping cost won't scare the buyer as badly.

I figure I lose between 10 and 15% to fees off the shipping costs.9% of the difference is $0.08. Not a big hit in my book.

When eBay and PayPal fees together can take close to 15% off the shipping the buyer paid, that would be $1.02 off the $6.80 retail leaving the seller with just $5.78 for a package that costs $5.90 to ship, a loss of 12 cents in just postage.
My shipping charges have until now been between 10 and 15% higher than what it costs me in postage. Until I change my shipping costs, (fixed, not calculated) I'll be losing $$ in postage costs for a lot of my items.

Exactly how I figure things. Twice over the past month, I was able to save my buyer's $4+ by improving my folding technique on sweaters. They were grateful for the refunded $avings. Friday I took a slight hit on a sweater that was calculated at 2-lbs, and it went over by .2 oz. Too bulky for a PFRE, so I lost some money after bumping the weight class. And that was one time I made sure I took stealth mode off the label! Shipping was almost the same as BO I took on the sweater...but I was happy to be rid of it.

Here's the way I look at it.
I used to get 75 cents from the difference between the price charged to the buyer and the amount I paid. Now I get 90 cents. Fees on the extra amount is less than 10 cents so I will be getting approximately a nickel more for each PFRE transaction. Hopefully the increase in shipping cost does not deter buyers from buying as it would take a long time for that nickel to add up to make up for even one sale that I lose to shipping being too high.

I like the First Class up to 1 lb. but seems we will lose the $50. automatic insurance that is for Priority packages. So if something under 1 lb is expensive it may be better to send Priority.

Maybe not. For 15 oz, insurance $1.50 + $3.65 FC = $5.15. So if the item is under $50, it still might be cheaper via FC.

Gotta weigh the cost vs risk. I got nervous mailing a $35 item using FC, so I put it in a PFRE and absorbed the extra $1+. It was peace of mind for me, even though I've never experienced a lost package. But, there's always a 1st time for everything... Now you'll be eating $2-$2.30 if you upgrade to PM for the insurance. So buying insurance via one of the 3rd party suppliers might be a cheaper options. And where are y'all getting the 10% eBay fee from? Mine is 9%

I just tried changing a sweater to FCP with 15 oz...and got a red error message saying I can't use FCP because it exceeds the weight limit of 13 oz. Grrrrrrrr

I'm a PowerSeller and TRS+. Here is what I got:
Flat Rate Envelope - $5.60 Small Flat Rate Box - $5.90 Med Flat Rate Box - $11.60 Lrg Flat Rate Box - $15.85 Padded Flat Rate Env - $5.90 Flat Rate Legal Env - $5.60 Regional Rate Box A - $10.77 Regional Rate Box B - $19.09
First Class 1oz - 8oz - $2.60 First Class 9oz $3.30 First Class 10oz $3.35 First Class 11oz $3.40 First Class 12oz $3.45 First Class 13oz $3.50 First Class 14oz $3.55 First Class 15oz $3.60 First Class 16oz $3.65
Over the last few postal rate changes, my items went from $1.93 to $2.04 to $2.60. The 11 cent change wasn't a big deal. This 56 cent change actually makes me lose money on some items unless I change shipping.

I'm TRS+ and PFRE for me is now $5.90. I use mostly the PFREs and was charging a flat rate of $4.95, but with the postage increase I may have to bump that up a little bit. I just thought there may be a psychological advantage for a buyer seeing postage under $5.00.

Mine is 9% To answer the question in red above, if you go to your sales reports you will find your sales total for the past three months and underneath is your eBay and PayPal fees separately as well as totaled together. Divide your total fees by your total sales amount and multiply by 100 to determine what % the fees are of your sales.
I haven't checked mine lately and sadly, they are worse than I remembered. Sigh . . .
October - 17% November - 15% December - 14%

Oh I see, you're using averages. I was looking at per item percents.

I'd be curious to see what % other sellers get from their total fees and sales numbers, to see if I'm average or not.
Anyone care to share?

Anyone care to share? I've got even scarier figures to share... Oct. - 21.4% Nov. - 22.1% Dec. - 17.3% It may be time to do a mental reset!

Your figures include your monthly store fee (if applicable). What level store are you two?

I was just curious. My % is higher, but I have a premium store and sales are low (my fault, not listing regularly). So I was curious what store level you guys were. My % should go down considerably when I start lisitng/selling again.
