Kritter spent time in Philadelphia for her job several years ago and she did not like the cold and snow.
Not at all. Not even for a few minutes.
Tango is from Nebraska so she is probably used to cold country.

Aww what a beautiful cat. My cat looks just like that. They could be twins. How the owner could let them outside knowing they had no claws if really beyond reason. They cannot even defend themselves or climb a tree if something chased them. Thats so sad.
People can be so mean to cats. I got my cat because someone dumped him in my yard. He was there all summer and I was feeding him before I realized he wasn't someones pet anymore. Now, he does not go outside ever.

The Diva AKA Sabrina is letting Tango know that she is watching her and not to take too many liberties.
Last night I was reading on the couch and Diva was next to me. Tango jumped down off the cat tree to stretch her legs and get a bite and Diva was right down on the floor immediately. She gave Tango a hiss as she walked by her and strolled out into the hall. She watched Tango the whole time she was walking around the room. When Tango jumped back on the cat tree, Diva came back to the couch.
Tango is a lot more social than Sabrina, Savannah, and Shadow, the military foster, were when they came. I guess a couple of days in an outside cage at Animal Control will make you appreciate a comfy AC room with a cat tree even if there is a a diva cat in there with you.

Excluding The Diva, how is Tango with the rest of your herd?

Tango won't go in with the herd for a few more days. He needs to get accustomed to being here before he meets the friendly Missy family. They love to meet and greet the new ones and can be overwhelming in their enthusiasm.
Way too much has gone on for him is just a few days and he needs to have some time to figure out what has happened.
I think he will be fine. He is not hiding and has sniffed my hand several times and let me pet him. I am giving him space; we aren't in a big rush around here.

Now, he does not go outside ever. I had a stray once that someone dumped because we were "farm" country. She was old and had had several litters by the look of her, and they dumped her with her collar AND BELL on so she couldn't even hunt. She was skin and bones. I gave her some tinned food and took that collar straight off so she could run away and do her own thing if she wanted. But she stayed. Slept in the sheds, caught mice and rabbits, got lots of love and eventually went to sleep forever on a pot plant in the sun. That's why I like the old-oldies.

I like the old oldies too. They are always overlooked especially this time of year when all the kittens are out and about everywhere.
I knew going in that Tango would maybe end up here but if that the way it ends up, then thats the way it ends up.
We are going to try and find both of these sisters a new home. If anybody wants a declawed cat, it doesn't get much better then with these two.

Do they have to go together or can they go to separate homes?

No, they won't have to go together. They aren't together now so the possible issues from their separation have already been put in motion. I know the rescue has no room for Tango there and no sense bringing that one here.
If somebody wants both, that would work but not a requirement I sent the rescue a pic of Tango but not sure what she has done to get them out in the adoption world.
I know she has been working on getting her kittens out to the Petsmarts and adopted so I haven't bugged her since I told her that I picked Tango up.
Still pisses me off about those owners just dumping them like that. I hope lots of bad karma goes their way.

There's a a Petsmart by one of my thrifts, I wondered in today to take a gander at the cats. They were all curled up snoozing, dreaming of their furever homes. One was a tortie and absolutely gorgeous. I hope they're all off to loving homes soon.

Tango turned the corner into "OK" last night. When I went into the foster bedroom to read, he met me at the door and then went immediately over to the couch and lounged on the back right above where I read. Diva had a bit of an issue with his presence but finally jumped on the couch and laid beside me in her usual place.
This morning Tango met me when I opened my bedroom door and twined around my legs while I cleaned their litter boxes and put out some fresh kibble. She definitely thinks it is time that she comes into the rest of the house as she is sitting by the door into the living room.

I'm lost. Is Tango a male or female? You're used both referring to Tango

Sorry about the confusion. I am not watching my pronouns carefully.
Tango is a female.

Tango's tummy was shaved when the Animal Control vet made sure she was spayed.
Haven't talked to the rescue since Friday so no new info on Gracie.

Let the introductions begin. I opened the doors so the Missy Family could go into the foster bedroom. It was like I made an announcement. No matter what they were doing, they dropped it and paraded into the hall and the room all the while bumping into each other and hissing when they did. Sabrina was sleeping on the second level of the cat tree and never opened her eyes. Tango was on the bottom floor shelf of the cat tree and just watched them. A lot of sniffing by the Missy family and of course, they all had to use the cat boxes that are in here. Kitty steps.....

Yeah, we get that when I open a closet, pick up a hair brush or lint roller, or starting pulling sheets off of or putting them onto the bed.

Well Sabrina might not be happy about the new arrivals, but Tango is beautiful and very lucky to be safe at your place. I hope she is able to be reunited with her sister.

Tango sounds like a boy-cat name. I'd be calling her him too.

I'd adopt Tango except then I'd feel like I'd have to change Hootie's name to "Cash".

Excuses, excuses, Val. You're really not pulling your weight, cat-wise, you know. I mean, ONE cat? Surely you can do better than that?

Yup, one cat.
I rent. Many rentals charge pet rent now, average is $20-$25 per month. Plus pet deposits - some will try to hit you up for a deposit per pet. And non-refundable pet fee - again, some will try to hit you up for a fee per pet.
I'm moving later this year, once that's settled and I'm in a place that won't charge an arm & leg to have pets, I'll entertain a buddy for the Hoots. But now? Way too expensive.
