Went out walking yesterday and had a dog go after us. Boxer type. Owner had a cheapy nylon cord as a tether and the family was working in the front yard. I scream wooo. Owner apologized and got his dog. Luckily he didn’t bite us.
Shampooed the downstairs carpet yesterday. Not great but better than before.

I was surprised to find out that St Pat's Day isn't even in the top 5 of Drinking Days Top 5 Drinking HolidaysI wonder if it's because St Pat's is more of a go out to a pub/be with a crowd drinking holiday, rather than party at home?

The "no stud TV wall mount" was a total failure, at least for me. They provide assorted size bolts to attach the brackets to the back of the TV, but if your TV needs the smallest bolt (4mm), the bolt head is too small for the bolt hole in the bracket and it falls off. The washers they provided were also too big. If your TV takes a larger bolt, then it works well. Back it goes.

Well it is snowing and I just put sheets over my hydrangeas and azaleas. My yard is all covered with pine twigs again from the recent winds. My grass is really high and I am waiting for my tractor-fixing guy to finish up. But it is too cold to mow.
My cell just prompted a scan and then alerted me to lock out Temu. I did, although I don't order anything on my cell. Don't know what to do with my desktop site.
I am still receiving my new credit cards since my accounts have apparently been hacked. So I had to get all new cards. I don't use a lot of them, but keep them current so that I can do transfer balances at 0%.

It's chilly here for the first day of spring. High of 59-62, depending on which forecast you look at .

First day of spring my azz. Left work at 5am after tiny steps to my vehicle due to the snow and ice on pavement and brushing off 3" of snow and scraping ice. Felt like 18 this morning with windchill and still feels like 20s. Wind gusts are arctic cold. 59-62 would truly feel like spring around here. At least it's supposed to hit 60 by end of week.

Enjoy the chill, folks. I was watching a video on Weather.com the other day and they're forecasting significantly above normal temps for a big part of the country for summer. Summer is going to be brutal (in some areas at least).

Ugh-will be in the 20's every night this week. So I have to cover stuff up. Last year I didn't, and my hydrangeas, azaleas and butterfly bushes didn't bloom well at all.

I went to set up my new HP laptop tonight and already hit a couple of snags. First, it got stuck on "pick your country" and I had to look online to figure that one out. Got past that, now it's stuck on "connect to a network" for the internet. First set of troubleshooting instructions said turn the router off and on. That didn't work. I've tried about 5 things so far and I'm giving up for the night since the next round of troubleshooting tips are a bit more complicated. It's a damn laptop, nothing fancy. It shouldn't be this hard to get it set up. If I can't get it set up tomorrow, I'm returning it for another one. I did get my Mac harddrive wiped, so it hasn't been a total loss of an evening.

Val - it's probably not your laptop but your settings. I'm not sure another laptop is going to solve the problem. If it's windows I might be able to help (I haven't done Mac support since the OS7 days).
Got together with a bunch of friends this evening at a really good Thai restaurant. We had go meet them in West Seattle, which is actually in Seattle but its own (very nice) town accessed by a bridge unless you want to drive a long way round the Sound. Traffic was really snarled getting over there and our friends were telling us they were HANGRY. The guy sitting across from me and I were chatting and trading stories (he's done some amazing things), laughing and talking, and he said now that his back was fixed he had begun riding his motorcycle again and this week was getting his bicycle out and was going to start riding again. His last rides were going up Mt Rainier and he was going to do some training to do that again. Then I realised...he's pushing 80 years old. I have friends who set good examples!
Our rains are back after several days of 60 degree weather (we often get this spring break) and it'll be back to mid to upper 40s for the foreseeable future (normal for here). Still struggling with some tendinitis in my right hip but I found that a brisk walk round trip to the pub the other day really helped. I also found that this pub (which is actually a taproom with various food trucks) not only hosts a knitting club, but a Wednesday running club -kind of a Hash House Harriers affair with all paces welcome! I'm not going to show up this Wednesday as I need to see if I can do the four mile course, but next week I will. The DH is planning his long ride on Wednesday and I'm going to try to talk him into diverting his course to meet me after the run (and his ride) and we can have dinner from the food truck and a pint and then both go home.

I have literally never had a windows PC, never even learned how to use one. There were some very lean years in terms of software early on but that is not the case today. There is no reason to have a PC (problem child). Unless your work insists on it.

LOL! I have a Mac I'm either donating or trading in.
Apple has made it so you can only upgrade so far, then you're stuck because they've come out with a new chip or something else that prohibits upgrading and requires purchasing new. My first Mac "aged out" because of the chip. So I bought the second one, the one I have now. It has an Intel chip, so it's "aged out" too. The latest OS I can use is Catalina, and several of the softwares I use for work don't work on an OS that old (there are 4 newer OS since Catalina). There is also some software I have to use for work that is not available on the Mac, or if it is, the Mac version is inferior (I'm talking about you, Intuit). To top it off, the current Mac is incredibly slooooooooooow (Catalina really slowed it down but I needed Catalina to run MS products and other programs).
I liked both of my Macs, but I simply don't have $1000+ to spend on a computer right now.
It appears wifi has to be "activated" on the laptop before it can connect to the network. The problem is internet connection is part of the initial set up. I did find some instructions that might allow me to skip that step and turn on wifi, then connect to the network. Fingers crossed.

Owner apologized and got his dog. Luckily he didn’t bite us. Shampooed the downstairs carpet yesterday. Not great but better than before. I hate this so much. Janey reacts to other dogs especially loose ones. I carry pepper spray and a stun gun but I still get worried and try to avoid any loose dogs that we come across (not too frequently, knock on wood!) People irritate the heck out of me.
We finally had some rain! Friday night/Saturday morning we got quite a bit. Then we had more on Sunday. And it's been pleasantly cool. No complaints from me I mowed the yard this morning as they are saying more rain tomorrow.
I Had a really nice time at the ladies brunch on Saturday. She made some cocktail weenies wrapped in bacon and in the slow cooker with brown sugar and butter and I know they aren't healthy at all, but what a fun indulgence! SO GOOD! She made two breakfast casseroles, too. I brought a homemade crumb cake. Never attempted it before, thank goodness it came out very tasty.
Best news: MY TUB IS BACK! The dap had to dry for a few days, but last night I was finally able to take a soak. That song came to mind: Reunited and it feels so good
I hope everyone is doing well. This week is sure flying by.

Best news: MY TUB IS BACK! The dap had to dry for a few days, but last night I was finally able to take a soak. That song came to mind: Reunited and it feels so good Final day of $3.95 hand soaps at Bath & Body Works. /PSA I ordered a bunch of new scents during the sale. I often can't use scented stuff, it gives me a headache, but I've lucked out and found several scents each season at B&BW that I can use. Yay! My favorite for all year is Lemons & Sunshine (thanks, Kritter!). Of the new summer scents, Waikiki Beach Coconut and Honolulu Sun are both really nice if you like summery beachy scents. The coconut is not overpowering in either of them, but the scents are different from each other. Beach Weather is interesting - no real coconut smell (despite saying it's in there) but still manages to smell like a beach breeze at the shoreline (not a beach/suntan oil/sunbathing scent). Electric Limeade is awesome. I may have to order another bottle to keep it on hand. I have Iced Lemon Poundcake on order. I'm curious to see how different from Lemons & Sunshine it might be. I love lemon and other citrus scents.

Ah ha. It appears the laptop needed an update to proceed. When I fired it up just now, it took me to a different window telling me I needed an update (couldn't have told me that last night?), updated something, then actually let me connect the wifi. Now it's downloading all the updates. How cute, it even gives me a link to a "surfing game" while I wait on the downloads Whatever. At least it's up and running now. I like the keyboard - letters are larger than normal for a laptop, more like a regular keyboard. I bought a separate USB plug number pad and a DVD drive too. Cloudy and mid 60s here today.

Jes..yay for your tub! Enjoy!
Yucky day----cold, rainy and very windy. I had uncovered my shrubs this morning but had to recover them just now. All of my yard-raking 2 weeks ago was useless since my yard is much worse now and covered with the pine twigs.

Aaand, I just had to go out and cover my plants again since the wind is so bad that it blew off the sheets. I use clothes pins to attach the sheets to the deer netting and to some of the branches.
That isn't working very well.
