"She made some cocktail weenies wrapped in bacon and in the slow cooker with brown sugar and butter and I know they aren't healthy at all, but what a fun indulgence!" She made some cocktail weenies wrapped in bacon and in the slow cooker with brown sugar and butter and I know they aren't healthy at all, but what a fun indulgence BUT WHO CARES!!!!! FTFY Managed to get out for a just under 2 mile run with walking breaks - the tendinitis in my hip is nagging but it eases off once I get going. I'll just ice, take a little ibuprofen and unfortnately skip my next race. Bleh. Were examining tiling options for our downstairs project. The DH handed me a sheet with options and some notes. It reminded me of Stephen Hawking's famous crazy chalkboard. We've settled on a soft matte beige 'cracked' terra style for the kitchen/dining room/laundry room/closet and a patterned tile that reminds me of the wonderful 12th century tile in Winchester Cathedral for the foyer and tiny alcove.

Jes..yay for your tub! Enjoy! Yucky day----cold, rainy and very windy. I had uncovered my shrubs this morning but had to recover them just now. All of my yard-raking 2 weeks ago was useless since my yard is much worse now and covered with the pine twigs. You know it Actually I think it helps me sleep better, because it's so relaxing. Even DH likes a soak when the weather is cool, and as much as work as it was for him I know he's glad to have a new tub, too.
Very rainy day here. We need it though. I went ahead and mowed the yard yesterday and I'm super glad I did. And I was able to get Janey out earlier this morning before it got really rainy. So we are tucked in cozy at home. It's been pretty mild temperature-wise so I can't complain about that at all.
We need to get our Shingles vaccinations, still! We planned to go while he was on vacation after Christmas but he got the flu. We were thinking about Saturday, but I have the bins Sunday and don't want a sore arm. I am thinking second weekend of April (DH birthday is 1st weekend) I am going to make it a priority and get it done. I know it's a terrible thing to get, and I need to quit putting it off.

I quit taking baths when my gynie told me to. I kept getting UTI's. I sure do miss them, but could never get out of the tub now at my old age.
I am going to leave the sheets on my shrubs for a few days since it will continue to be in the 20's at night until Sunday.
I am all caught up with my shots, but my PCP suggested that I get the kid shot booster. Have to look up the letters. Can't be the tuberculosis one since I can't have a shot in my arm.

For those who have eBay stores and get the shipping supplies credit....I was checking to see what I will order in April. And I had a code again. It did work when I ordered stuff. So I don't know if it was a glitch or an early code for April?

MULCH SALE ALERT: Lowes has the Scotts mulch on sale $4 for 10.00 until 3/27.
I was taking back my weed sprayer that I don't need now and wandered out to the Garden Dept. where much to my surprise my hibiscus plants were marked down from $9.99 to $7.99. So I got two more to cost average out with the two I bought earlier. It is kinda rainy today so didn't want to load up and deal with mulch so will make an online order and get CASH BACK.

Wow! My Lowes had hibiscus for $20 last year.
I don't get the cheap mulch at Lowes since it is impossible to get someone to load it into my car for me. Same thing for Home Depot. So I have to go to Agway where they load it immediately.

I drug myself out of the house to walk this morning. So cold and blustery out. I wanted to blow it off but we are supposed to get 3” of rain Saturday so I most likely won’t get out Saturday.

So I have to go to Agway where they load it immediately. I order online (cash back) and it is waiting at the front of the Garden Dept. There is always somebody at my store ready to load it up or they call somebody. Maybe takes 5 minutes. I can wait 5 minutes or even 10 minutes for Scotts mulch at $2.50 a bag. While I am waiting, I have time to cruise through the flowers. At my age I don't need anything done immediately. Not in a big hurry, just stop to smell the flowers and enjoy my $2.50 price on mulch.

I had wheeled the cart to my car and waited and waited. Finally a guy walking into the store loaded them for me.
No more. And that was many years ago. Now there are fewer employees at both stores.

And that was your mistake, grasshopper. Once you are out in the parking lot, you are out of their frame of reference. I pull my vehicle right up in front of the garden department door gate, get out, and stand there where the cashier can see me. If there is not a guy already there for loading, they get one there with little delay. I have no shame when it comes to saving money.
Not trying to convince you. If you want to spend more money on mulch, go for it.

But there are rows of plants that prevent me from getting closer.
Appreciate the lesson!

chapeaunoir I like your sumo avatar! They have to eat a lot of weenies wrapped in bacon with brown sugar and butter to stay in training weight! Lucky bastards. This is the large version - it's Hakuo in action, slinging down Goeido who was probably 300+ lb.
They traditionally eat chanko nabe, which is a delicious stew with all sorts of good things in it and quite healthy, but in quantity. They would probably love the weenies wrapped in bacon, also in quantity. We used to go to a Japanese restaurant near Portland which generally had sumo matches playing on the bar TV, so I'd get my sumo fix there.

You are welcome. I pull right in front of those rows of plants in the traffic lane. Cars going in the same direction have to go around me. I learned many years ago that once you head out to the parking lot, case closed for them. If you are blocking traffic and customers are having to walk around your vehicle going in or out of those gate doors, they will get you loaded and outta there with your cheap mulch.
But then we have that stand your ground thing in Texas which I apply to any situation so there is that.

Hmmn. Chip & Dip Day, and Tamale Day. I have neither at my house, but I do have Easter mini cupcakes and I'm making quesadillas for dinner. Guess I'll just celebrate in my own way Sunny and low 70s here today. It's a good day to pull out the spring/summer clothes and pack up the fall/winter.

Not here. Woke up to around 2" of snow covering everything and around 30 degrees. Currently 34 with sun popping in and out. At least it's enough to partially melt the snow. The calendar may say "spring", but weather here is a defiant, "Oh no, it's not". Leaving tomorrow for casino trip in NY where weather's about the same. Supposed to warm up Monday, our anniversary, and come back to probably rain on Tuesday. Traded days with coworker so working his shift Wed. and Thur. Really looking forward to getting away for a few days.
Val, could you post "now" pics of the kittehs?

I have been out attacking the weeds in the front. The backyard is under control finally. My new fence is going in on 4/15 so I need to get them a path to see there they are going down the property line. Desire My RoundUp sprayer blocked again and I couldn't get it to going so I put on the one that they sent me. My old one is blue and this one is black and it sprays so much better. Much wider spraying range than the blue one.Now I have to wait and see what areas I missed before I spray again but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Ran to the bank early this morning. Finally stopped raining. The swamp was replenished.
Stuck with a ton of people waiting for our tax returns. Hopefully they get on the ball soon.
Will get out walking tomorrow morning. Wind is blowing right now.

Well crap. My latest Temu package was stolen from my front door. Either a porch pirate was following the delivery person around, or it's a neighbor. The breezeway to my door is pretty secluded and you cannot see any packages at the door until you are actually AT the door. There are also only two doors on each landing. I really wish the damn delivery people would KNOCK ON THE DOOR WHEN THEY DELIVER.

Talk about a nice surprise! Temu refunded me for the stolen shipment. I really didn't expect them to, I just wanted it on file that the delivery person never knocked and I didn't know it was there until the email came in later. But they refunded me. No complaints here. Even better, if it was one of the neighbors, I'll be able to tell who it is if they're dumb enough to wear the top that I ordered since the only place I've seen it is on Temu

I haven't had any problems with Temu either. They don't hesitate to let you know where your package is every step of the way.
I bet it was somebody in your apartment area that grabbed it. Maybe you can put a note on your door to knock when one of them delivers a package.
