Shirley U Geste LOL You beat me to it. I had that one ready to roll this morning but got sidetracked by that idiot diva Kenya trying to decide if she wanted rotisserie chicken or Fancy Feast Kitten turkey canned food for breakfast. She still hasn't decided as both dishes sit 9" away from her in the back porch reserved seating area.

Happy New Year's Eve!! Hope this New year will bring joy (and ca ching!) to everyone. I personally hope it's a better year than last year. We are going to my sister's for a bit today. She NEVER hosts anything and invited us and her grown kids and grand kids over for a, well not a meal, but she ordered snack type trays so a visit and food lol. We lost mom last year and her ex husband and she said she'd been thinking she's always wanted to do something and I guess she realized she better get cracking lol.
I want to watch The Holdovers with DH this evening (and some Twilight Zone of course!) Tomorrow I am doing ham and homemade mac and cheese and green beans. And more Twilight Zone We are still eating on Christmas treats/desserts.
And then I am going to start sorting for a photo session. I haven't done one since Oct so I really shouldn't complain, but I will anyway I have a pinnable dress form with arms that I bought about 6 or 7 years ago. It's starting to fall apart, the neck broke when I dropped it (twice) DH glued it, but it wants to fall apart. The cover is coming off, etc. I paid $64.99 and for some reason now they are $180!!! So I ordered a mannequin. I got one of the egg head faceless types, as the faces creep me out and I don't want that in my house I got an unexpected $60 survey reward of an Amazon code so I decided to pull the trigger. It was $64 plus $20 shipping. I'm not positive I'll have it by my photo session on Sat., but it's been shipped and I think it's in Georgia and I'm in TX so maybe. It says the 5th-10th. I hope it's not too difficult to work with but I can't see spending $180.
I had two 1/2 off VV coupons I earned in Nov so we went to one on Wed and one yesterday. My toe didn't thank me but it had to be done. I'm trying to elevate and ice at least 2x a day. It might not help at this point, but it's not going to hurt, either.

Made my traditional pork roast with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. The roast was from Aldi and really good.
I have not heard from my grandson, so I guess he is at a friend's house or a friend is at his house. My daughter is a last-minute person, but she knows that I don't go anywhere and can always watch Jaxson.
But since he is almost 12, he is okay with being home alone now. He is still my little boy, though.
Happy New Year to all!

Happy New Year. Got home and got everyone outside before midnight except Gunner. They all went out at 10:30 so he will be fine. 10 after and they are still setting off fireworks.

Fireworks are going full blast now, including some bottle rockets from my parking lot. From the sounds, there's at least one big display somewhere tonight.

Ah ha! I wasn't going nuts after all. I heard what sounded like a large fireworks display earlier this evening, nine-ish. Then an even bigger one at midnight.
Ends up the early one was at SeaWorld, the later one is downtown. I'm closer to downtown which is why the midnight fireworks were louder. Whew.

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year!
Some goofballs have been shooting at tannerite targets here all evening. (Check out "tannerite" on YouTube). They are targets you shoot at and they EXPLODE! We've done them before at my BIL's farm and they are wild! But loud! Sounds like dynamite. Dog is going nuts every time one goes off. Hopefully they settle down soon.

Happy new years everyone! Only a few fireworks 🎆 here, but pubs and halls were packed with people. The DH and I did not make it to midnight as we were up early hiking and pretty worn out, but woke up at about 2:30 with groups of people walking past laughing and yelling
Today was an organ recital at the Cathedral by their organ master, who is world renowned. Their organ is one of the biggest in the UK with over 6500 pipes. It's a beast and hearing it soar in the massive Norman Cathedral was amazing. Day off from hiking and the sun came out and we walked along the river. Just lazed around since we've been hiking 50+ miles a week and didn't really work up to it. Natch 😕😁

Not my crew. They're all snoozing right now. They wore themselves out playing this morning.

Cool, rainy and very windy - at times I was jolted when a gust would hit me. We went to the gym in the morning, then showered and went out for coffee.
Obligs:
A trip to the thriving provincial town of Thetford. The delicate ruins of the Cluniac priory, 1130:
This cat obviously owned the place and did not deign to converse with we peasants.
Stairway to Heaven (actually to the top of the castle mound - this was a neolithic stronghold where the Normans later built a wooden castle. Stairway thoughtfully provided to the top.
I forgot to mention that the flat where we've been staying is built right next to an old graveyard and deconsecrated 18th century church (which now houses a skateboard shop and track). The stained glass window is our first floor window - everything is on a hillside - I haven't been able to read the inscription on this old mausoleum to know our very close neighbour:
Norwich has a lot of little footpaths that connect one street to another - one of the footpaths runs between the church and the churchyard so it's easy for us to get right up the hill into a part of town without having to use a street.

The stained glass window is gorgeous, Chap! When do you guys get back home?
We ended up getting a really nice rainstorm earlier this afternoon. Maybe that's a good omen that we'll get out of the drought this year.

It's raining again. Good thing it didn't rain the evening of the Christmas patio contest, or my lights might not have worked All the cords, timers, connectors and lights that I used outside were outdoor lights, but for some reason they didn't come on tonight. I unplugged them from the outlet just in case the rain is causing a short. There was thunder earlier. Radar indicates there's also lightening, although I haven't looked out the window to check. Looking at the radar, it's a pretty big storm system passing thru. We're on the lower end where it tapers off, so it's not too bad. Dallas looks like it's getting hammered though, and the storm will be edging into Houston shortly.

Predicting a snow event this weekend. Won’t know more until we are closer to the weekend. Right now it is all hype.

I slept through the New Year and didn't even hear any fireworks! I must have been really tired!
We, too, are expecting a weather event this week-end.

I am a little late but Happy New Year to everyone. I have been so busy that the computer is taking a back seat, lol. Lots of organizing and cleaning at both houses. Oliver kitty is doing much better with the eating, only one vomit in last few weeks but that may have been from him eating the fake Christmas tree lol. All good here so far.
We are expecting a small weather event that the news is making a huge deal out of, let's incite panic over an inch or 2 of possible snow, mostly rain. Ridiculous and I am sure the grocery will be crazy tomorrow but I don't have any other day this week to do it and I haven't been since before Christmas.
Hope everyone has a great day!!

Mid-January. staytuned It might be tough to watch the game as it isn't broadcast internationally, alas By all accounts the WA v TX game was exciting. BOW DOWN! 2" of snow in Seattle Metro turns everything into a crisis lol.

How we make things work at Kritter's house.... The Missy family was gifted a lemon adjustable bed for Christmas from Val. First try was a bit tight. Second try was better but just not right yet. Third try is perfection. Just enough room for a cuddle.

The Missy family was gifted a lemon adjustable bed for Christmas from Val. First try was a bit tight. That's because the only way I could get the bed stuffed into a gift bag was to draw it as tight/small as possible My gang loves that bed so much that I have two, one in the living room under an end table, and the other in the office in a nice quiet spot between two of the desks. I got it at Chewy in case your crew gets tired of sharing and demands another one Speaking of Chewy, they're running the spend $100/get $30 e-gift card again, thru January 15. Code is NEWYEAR. Limited to three orders per customer.
