No problem, Emerald! Kritter and I usually act as a backup on the weekly chat if whomever usually does it can't so no worries. I'm sorry your pics won't post though. That's soooooo annoying. I placed a curbside pickup order at HEB for this evening. I bought stuff to make turkey enchiladas and turkey tetrazzini with my leftover turkey from tomorrow I'm set for the week in the kitchen. I changed the outdoor timer to dusk to dawn for tonight, so my Christmas lights will stay on all night (usually they go off after 6 hrs). We used to do that when I was a kid, leave them on all night Christmas Eve. I'm not really sure why, maybe so Santa could find us? Who knows why it started but it was a nice tradition. The plan this evening is to watch sappy Christmas movies on TV Tomorrow morning it's cranberry sausage smokies baked in phylo crust for breakfast. There's a little UPS delivery truck outside my building. I don't think I've ever seen one that small. LOL. Alas, wasn't for me. There's a huge unexplained backlog at one of the San Antonio sort centers (USPS whistleblower ratted to the TV station) and I suspect my delivery route is serviced by that sort center, since all my incoming holiday packages will show out for delivery, then working thru the system, then arrived at hub, then sent to hub, back to working thru system, etc for several days, then eventually they get delivered. I get an extended Christmas this year since several packages didn't make it before Christmas

No issues with packages in my area. Maybe a delay from one day to the next with the mail guys getting all the packages delivered on their route. Initial story was from Fox News so there is that. It was the sort center in Converse, the largest sort center among the 3 in the area. Sounds like a disgruntled employee. www.mysanantonio.com/news/local/article/usps-mail-delay-18570640.php The United States Postal Service responded to a report that one San Antonio-area mail sorting facility was behind schedule. The article by Fox San Antonio claimed that "hundreds of thousands of packages have been sitting in mail facilities here in San Antonio for more than a week," according to a whistle blower from the facility. The article was published on Monday, December 18. USPS invited media to visit the Package Support Annex in Converse on Thursday, December 21, where the report indicated the pileup was taking place, to take a tour and see the package processing in real-time. There are three facilities in the San Antonio area. MySA reached out to the local USPS office to ask about the report, who said they could not confirm the validity of the photos that were shared in the Fox San Antonio report. A USPS spokesperson said that the San Antonio Processing & Distribution Center is constantly receiving, processing, and moving mail in and out of its 24-hour operation, and that "the processing and sorting machines, employees, and the mail never stop." Virgin asked Calderon about claims USPS moved packages to the other facilities in anticipation of the interview, to which the plant manager claims that "in a network this intricate, we don't ... do things spontaneously. Everything is planned. Just because we get an email, [that] doesn't mean we're going to start moving mail. That was timed." She added that the Converse facility is the largest of the three annexes, and they time mail movement in an effort to not overload the other facilities.

My maul must go thru a different sort center (and definitely a different hub) than your mail, Kritter, because packages to me shipped 12/15 and after are traveling all over the city. Shirley can attest to that, her package to me was shuffled all over the city

A very meowy Christmas to everybody!
It's 7:00 pm here. We had a nice day, lounging in the morning- I tried to get to the gym 🏋️♀️ for workout but couldn't find the obscure off hours entrance despite walking all around the castle. It was eerily quiet in the streets. I gave up on that and came back to the flat- we're staying in an 18th century building in one of the oldest streets in Norwich. Finally we went to a Christmas feast at one of the pubs -it was absolutely delicious!
then to evensong at the cathedral- a huge Norman Era church. It was wonderful hearing the choir's voices soaring in the vaulted space, then the Dean chanting - he had a nice round voice - good for preaching! Then we all processed around and out the door. The Anglicans really do up the ceremony well - all the incense was making the dean sneeze into his collar. Then we came home and watched the King's speech, which was actually impressive.
Tomorrow another hike and we also may look at a couple of properties with an eye toward purchasing. If we go ahead and purchase outright, I'll get a six month residency visa and just move over here while the dh continues working (he talks about retiring but I'm not sure). But just planning stage now.

I'm not sure where Trixie is, but Simon and Twila are having a blast playing with their new tri-level trackball toy from Auntie Shirley. Cocktail sausage piggies in a blanket came out pretty good for breakfast. Turkey has been rubbed and is in the slow cooker. I think it's time for a second cup of coffee. Ah, but what flavor do I want? I have several flavors, all really good, but I think the Dulce de Leche may win out.

Had a nice dinner at my daughter's. Her fiance gave her a big double Ninja air fryer, which I have been telling her that she needs. She didn't really want one, but I am sure it will be used a lot. The subject of MIL's house never came up, so I was good.
Fiance bought an 85" TV for down in the family room and it is currently stuck halfway down the stairs. As heard on Friends...Pivot! Pivot!

I LOVE my double Ninja air fryer. Best money I've ever spent.
Cats and I are watching That Touch Of Mink with Cary Grant and Doris Day. I forgot how cute it was.

My grandson is already planning to cook a bowl of soup in the fryer. I don't think that's a good idea.
His father didn't even call him yesterday for Christmas. Jaxson didn't even mention it, though, since he doesn't really care.

I'm not sure soup in an air fryer would be a good idea, either, Denise. Maybe talk him into something else and put the soup in the microwave? I love cooking fresh veggies in the air fryer. Salmon and cod in the air fryer are really good too. Watched my favorite Cary Grant movie last night, "Charade".

Knowing my grandson, he will try it.... He absolutely loves soup! My daughter had about 14 different dishes yesterday. Jaxson ate ham and my deviled eggs and pretzel salad. Then he heated up a can of soup. A lot of my daughter's dishes were casseroles, etc. And Jaxson doesn't like the mixtures.
I tried salmon in my fryer but the skin stuck to the rack. I will have to spray more oil on the rack next time.

I am starting to get my stuff ready for tax-time and discovered that I can get senior stickers for my trash to save money.
Actually, I could have applied when I was 62....12 years ago. oops.
I just called today and I can get 12 stickers for $36, so if I put out one trash bag per week, I can save $24 every 3 months. And actually, I can probably put out one bag every other week, instead of weekly.
Anything to save money here. We do have recycling so I will have to put all of my paper and cardboard stuff into recycling, which will cut down my amount of trash. I usually only put cans and bottles into the recycling bin.
I also canceled my 2 homeowner warranties, so I hope that nothing breaks down. And I had joined Physician's Mutual for dental work. But that turned out to be rather useless. Also canceled that.

Or use these: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09Z62KKRX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1They come in pretty much every size and shape out there for air fryers. I have several USPS packages awaiting delivery that are bouncing all over San Antonio, like this one: Arrived at Post Office SAN ANTONIO, TX 78246 December 26, 2023, 2:23 pm Out for Delivery SAN ANTONIO, TX 78216 December 26, 2023, 6:10 am Arrived at USPS Facility SAN ANTONIO, TX 78246 December 24, 2023, 6:39 am Departed USPS Regional Facility SAN ANTONIO TX DISTRIBUTION CENTER December 24, 2023, 6:15 am Arrived at USPS Regional Facility SAN ANTONIO TX DISTRIBUTION CENTER December 24, 2023, 6:02 am Departed USPS Facility SAN ANTONIO, TX 78237 December 24, 2023, 6:02 am Arrived at USPS Facility SAN ANTONIO, TX 78237 December 24, 2023, 6:02 am Departed USPS Facility SAN ANTONIO, TX 78227 December 24, 2023, 6:02 am Arrived at USPS Facility SAN ANTONIO, TX 78227 December 24, 2023, 6:02 am Departed USPS Regional Facility SAN ANTONIO TX DISTRIBUTION CENTER December 24, 2023, 6:02 am Arrived at USPS Regional Facility SAN ANTONIO TX DISTRIBUTION CENTER December 22, 2023, 3:14 am Departed USPS Regional Facility DALLAS TX LOGISTICS CENTER December 21, 2023, 9:23 pm Arrived at USPS Regional Facility With this particular package, I've received three notices on 3 different days that the package was out for delivery...doesn't get delivered...and is popped back into the system again. The time stamps on this one make no sense either. I have 3 outstanding deliveries doing this. I suppose it could be worse, USPS could be shipping them between various cities .

So I was all about the liners, but apparently they all have the California chemical warning. Will have to think about that.
