Good morning, everyone! I'm 99.5% convinced we're finally over winter and won't see the white precip until end of year, whoo hoo (unless you ski/snowboard). Still up and down temps, but supposed to hit 75 on Wednesday so looking forward to that. Had a great time last week at the casino and surrounding area. Trees here might actually be budding soon so will be nice to see leaves instead of stick figure trees again. Hope everyone has a warm fuzzy feeling day!

Yep, I have a deposition Friday. Dumb lawyers weren’t thinking when they set up the dates. I keep waiting for them to reschedule.
Great day today but I am just getting motivated. Will get my walk in at work. Going back to bed at 11.

Keep forgetting to tell you, labbypaws, DH and the Yuppies are visiting Philly end of month. Yuppie BIL already has the "itinerary". Convinced local SIL to go along so I'll be hanging around MIL's to make sure she's o.k. while they're gone. They'll drop her off somewhere PA SIL can pick her up so the sisters can do bonding without Yuppie SIL who feels the need to be a fifth wheel on the trips along with godson who has no life other than hanging out with the parents. They'll pick her up when they go on scheduled 3 hour visit to PA SIL. I am grateful I can use MIL as an excuse to stay here. I hate itineraries. To me, that's not a vacation, it's being on a schedule. DH and I prefer to make notes of possible places to check out and do what we feel like doing when we feel like doing it.

Was out of town over the weekend for the Birch Bay Road Race 15k (just south of the Canadian border). Beautiful course right along Birch Bay - we started in brisk cold wind and a light, stinging rain and figured that was it, but miraculously it cleared up a bit and we had low 40s and some sun, if rather blustery, with great views over the water. I couldn't catch a break last year and the beginning of this year with Achilles tendon injury, then Covid (with months of symptoms), then horrible flu (picked up in England which seems to have the worst viruses) so was behind on training and slowwwwwww. I just shuffled along, and actually felt fine throughout, just really slow. The DH rode his bike from Bellingham up north to where I was. They had hot soup at the finish line which was very popular!
It's supposed to snow tonight, here.

Going to be in the mid 70s here. Not that cold tonight. May have to drag out the work shorts.
Appt at the barber at 10. Had to make it earlier this week because all the kids are off Wed-Mon for the holiday so I figure it might be mobbed the rest of the week.

Will get my walk in at work. Going back to bed at 11. I can commiserate with your deposition on Friday. BF youngest daughter duck pin bowls in a youth league and they scheduled a state tournament on Good Friday, Saturday and it continues on to Monday. Who schedules a bowling tournament on Easter weekend, apparently it is that weekend every year so I fault all the bowlers if they refuse to bowl that weekend then it would get changed. Hope everyone has a good week, BF is off the rest of week and we have lots of projects planned until we spend 12 hours a day at bowling alley, lol.

I was fortunate that DH got home from a job early so I am able to color my hair before work today. Otherwise I was going to have to wait until Saturday🤣😱. No nap but this is one more thing to check off my list this week. I hate having stuff to do on workdays.
Next Tuesday I have a dental appt on my way to work. We don’t have dental insurance at work. They have 5 practices we can pick from and they pay for most basic services except crowns, braces and implants. It is just inconvenient because it is 20 miles away. But for $6 a month for 2 of us, it is well worth the aggravation. They are looking at a dental plan because people are complaining about having to go there. I would rather pay the $6 a month.

Fight to keep the $6 month + drive. I need to get a dental plan for myself but I haven't found one yet that offers any kind of decent coverage for anything more than annual visits and the random filling Muggy and 90 on tap here today. Cold front comes in late tomorrow I think and 60's are forecast for Thursday & Friday. Guess I better get back to work. Have a client who doesn't understand why their biz has a loss. Um, mam? You spent more than you made. We go thru this every year with her. We decided this year we're telling her we'll be happy to help but she needs to engage us for quarterly reviews so we can fix problems when they occur, and not while we're trying to do the biz tax return.

I wish that I had a dental plan since I spent $2,000 last year for dental work. I checked into the reviews for Physicians Dental plan and they are bad. My dentist won't use my health care dental plan, but he is the best. Very few dentists take my health care coverage. 65 degrees today and just got in from raking up pine poop.

Hello, hope everyone is doing ok. We had a nice visit with mom yesterday. The facility is working with the family of the boyfriend to get him on metro lift so he can come up a couple of times a week to visit mom and play dominoes with the activities lady. She is so wonderful and calls him every day so mom can talk to him. I'm not sure if the family will bother with it, but she sure is trying to get it to happen. We are having mom over here Sunday for Easter so she is looking forward to that.
We have been quite warm here, they said we hit 89 yesterday which broke a record. Supposed to start raining tomorrow and rain through Friday. We'll see. Sunday they said 70% chance of rain and we didn't get a drop. We really do need it so I hope we do get some. My redbud is really starting to leaf out so I'm really happy about that.
I have a lot of things I want to get done before DS comes to stay for a bit at the end of the month. Dusting and cleaning and making room. Doing a photo session, defrosting the freezer, ugh. And I'm making a turkey for Easter. I got one free at Thanksgiving so I just have to lol. DH is taking off Friday and Monday for his birthday Saturday (coincidence that it's Easter weekend) and we have our annual check ups on Friday, too. Plus I want to get some plants to plant around the new redbud. I need sun loving plants, as this tiny tree won't be making much shade for quite a while
We used to have dental insurance through DH's work, but it sucked. It was like an HMO and NO ONE wanted to take it. I think it was about $12 a month for each of us. Well that pays for one visit a year, and DH only goes once a year anyway. I have a worse teeth/gums and have to go twice but I've been seeing my dentist for 26 years and it's well worth it not to switch. I'm so paranoid about when he'll retire lol.

I'm a jeans gal again! I lost some more weight, so my 2 pairs of uncomfortable jeans are too baggy. I dug up a pair of Lee Riders stretchy jeans still with tags. They fit well and the fabric is soft.
I have about a dozen more pairs of jeans to try on, but my back objects to multiple try-ons.
Big plus over my usual knit pants...lots of pockets!

Ends up my client with the loss was double posting expenses. Not intentionally, she was posting payments to the credit card on the wrong account. *sigh* She still has a loss, but it's a lot less than before I just saw where season 2 of Sister Boniface is out. Good, because I'm finishing up the latest season of Death In Paradise and need some new shows.

Update: we decided not to go with her or her siblings. She was coughing a bit and limping. We are looking at this girl in the morning. If we get her I am going to have to bring her home and try to get a bag of whatever food she is eating right away. I hope I have a collar to fit her for now. Bringing an assortment in case I need one. Bringing Gunner with me to see if it will work out. www.petfinder.com/dog/kimmy-62073410/pa/chester-springs/phoenix-animal-rescue-pa450/The pup from our breeder comes home Memorial Day weekend. We haven’t been told anything yet. Guessing they are due this weekend. . Kimmy from the rescue…

83 degrees today and humid. I mowed my backyard since it is higher than the front. I still have to rake up a lot of pine poop in the front. And we are supposed to have another storm tonight...ugh...more raking.

It's supposed to be cloudy and 76 here today, then 55 tomorrow and 58 Friday. I'll believe it when I see it tomorrow. Winds did pick up as predicted however, and they're blowing some of the humidity from the partly cloudy part out. It's actually fairly nice outside. I ordered something from QVC and even though I changed the delivery address, my old address was marked as default so it overrode the change I put in when I ordered and it was shipped to my old apartment. It's been my experience here that most folks keep misdelivered items so I contacted QVC and they shipped out a duplicate of my order. Much to my surprise, the current tenant of my old apartment did bring the QVC packages to the office yesterday and I picked them up today. I can tell this was the original order based on delivery date/shipment #. Took them a few days to bring it to the office, but it was the weekend and they might have been out of town or busy. I'll ship the dupes back to QVC. And yes, I deleted the old default address and the only one showing is my current one Joann.com sent me a single plastic fern pick in a really huge box. Talk about waste! It could have been shipped in a poly mailer. Plastic ferns are industructable

I bought a tall plantstand on Overstock - 40" high. A box arrives that is almost as tall as I am. I kept looking at it for days, thinking "ugh I really don't want to asssemble that thing". Today it dawned on me that if the box is almost as tall as I am and wider than the advertised width, the plantstand was probably shipped already assembled. I opened it. It was assembled. Duh. **slapping self upside head**

Looks like we're in for another day of rain. Not solid unending all day though, just thunderstorms as a front goes thru. High in the mid 50s. We had a good rainfall yesterday. Not enough to clear out the drought, but it did help.

A nifty gardening tip for those who want to plant stuff but don't have a yard. Go vertical! I was looking at reviews of planters with hooks (that you hang over a fence or deck railing) and several reviewers got really creative with limited space. One reviewer had taken a large piece of lattice, framed it, and put it up on the side of her house and hung the planters on it. Another did something similar with a wood pallet on her fence. A third reviewer took an antique quilt holder, attached it to a wall, and hung small pots of herbs on it. They were all pretty cool and easy to do. You can get the metal planters in assorted shapes, sizes and colors. /PSA

After the last ice storm the owners had all the large trees removed (worried about falling branches etc). Now she has a sunny patio and has asked me to help her with plants. I hadn't thought about going vertical on her fence- what a great idea! Now if it ever stops raining around here and warms up a little I can get to work, lol.

Raining and in the 40s here - the weather boffins read the entrails and predict a break in the weather next weekend - we'll see. I don't mind the rain but it's frustrating the DH.
I've been clipping fresh basil from my little indoor garden and waiting for the yellow peppers to begin to pop out. I like this little click n' grow garden so much that I may purchase another, larger, one, though they're spendy (my cousin gave us this little starter one) they do begin to pay for themselves after a while, and there's nothing like herbs and veg straight from the garden. That's a little hard in our yard which is almost completely shaded and covered with beds of pine needles.
