Well, I've dropped my blood pressure from about 146/72 to 132/72 with just lifestyle changes. I'm not sure how much lower I'll get it - the only time I've been at or below that 120/80 mark I get lightheaded every time I get up from a chair or from kneeling on the floor, even when I was younger and bike racing.
Denise - having food restrictions makes it really tough to balance and get all those nutrients in! I say that you can only do your best.
We have high cholesterol in our family so I've avoided eggs because mine was a tad high even though I didn't eat a high cholesterol diet. My dad (thin and active) had his well over 300 and dropped it to about 220 or something just by changing his eating habits in a step-wise fashion - he never used the medication and lived to be 86 and only died because he caught pneumonia and had been a life-long smoker. Other than that, I think eggs are great - I love them and they're really versatile.
The Starbarks egg bites are delicious, but like everything else there are over-priced - I wouldn't mind making my own. Hungry Girl also has two ingredient mini-bagels, super easy to make.
Labby - I hope you soon find your new member of the family! I enjoy helping my friend with his dog clients.

denise15601 Unless you have a really good waffle iron, don't get your hopes up too high on the chaffles. I have YET to have one come out crispy, even if the recipe says something like "super-delicious-fluffy-crispy-extra-yummy-dang-easy chaffle"! lol

But it is a lot of cheese.

With feta cheese a little goes a long way - maybe try that? It sounds good, but I get cheese out pretty quickly. I'm going to try to those egg bites.

Found a recipe that says to add almond flour and baking powder. Eggs are high in folic acid so I have to be careful. I don't know about feta since it has to be a melty cheese. Going to buy low fat mozzarella.

Low fat mozzarella is actually quite good. I used to eat some feta cheese and it did melt OK, but not completely. I tried it when I was struggling with gout - the gout put me off eating a lot of cheese forever - it was the worst trigger for it.

This carb-counting is ridiculous. I have Green Giant cauliflower fries, patties, etc. in my freezer that I want to finish up. They are pretty good in the air fryer. But 4 of the fries equals 15 carbs, which is my meal limit.
As for pizza, I am going to have to make my own with low-carb and low-sugar stuff.
But it is all doable. I am glad that I am not diabetic, which would be much harder.

Plus it added 12 carbs to your recipe. Are you having to track carbs or net carbs? They aren't the same. Substitute almond flour and you drop down to 3 carbs total, or 1 net carb.

Why do people buy something that is clearly labeled "LOW sodium" or "NO SALT ADDED", the complain because it isn't salty enough? Duh. **SMH**

Same people who buy stuff online clearly labeled "X" size/color, then complain because it doesn't fit or isn't green because it says "red".

They also don't think.
I'm looking at reviews on WM for some fairy lights. Someone left a bad review because the lights didn't work, and they didn't discover this until after they'd glued the lights to their project, went out and bought batteries, and THEN tried the lights. They were pissed because the whole project was ruined. The FIRST thing I do with light strings (electric or battery) is test them to see if they work. I also make sure I have some batteries on hand, because I don't want to make an extra trip for batteries. Duh. How hard is that to do?

I don't calculate to find the net carbs since I don't have to monitor my blood sugar or insulin levels. I am not strictly keto, but realize that it is kind of what I have to follow.
At this point I know that I have to limit my total carbs to about 15 per meal. That limits me to a half of a sandwich.
With the exception of what happened to me at home in October, I have had no problems eating & watching my carbs at home. It is my chemo day that kicks my butt. Still trying to figure out what to safely eat that day.

I do plan to buy the CaliFlour Keto crust that only has 3 carbs per serving. If I don't like it, I am willing to make my own. I really miss pizza.
Do you do Keto?

I've been eating low carb/keto for many years. I'll send you a PM with the recipe. It's kind of long to post here, but I'll be happy to provide it to anyone who wants it. I've never had the CaliFlour crust, but I bought one of their products one time. (One time. Never again.)

The Rao's pizza sauce is the healthiest, so I will get that.

We have a recipe board, would you guys please post the recipes there? Thanks!
Denise, it's easy to make your own pizza sauce. You can google recipes.

Crazy night at work. Students came back. I entered 55 calls and there were 2 guys out handling them. Mostly minor stuff - kids locked out of their dorms and maintenance reports. I swear my last year I might stay for opening, clock in and say I am going home and “retire”. Jk but seriously we need help!
