Denise - I was getting sleepy after breakfast - I started eating Lean Cuisine for breakfast instead of my usual fruit/yoghurt/one waffle combo and it cleared up. If I eat the fruit/yoghurt/waffle later on it's fine. Weird. Not all that weird, Chap. I'm the opposite though. If I'm going to have a carb heavy meal (which your waffle/yogurt combo is), I have to eat it in the morning. Any later and I have issues. Eat it at night and I can't sleep. Whatever. I just roll with it Partly cloudy and 67 for today, 62 for tomorrow and Saturday. That's more in line with our norms. Yay! I never thought it was really carb heavy - half cup of blueberries, small toaster waffle and serving of plain yohgurt, but maybe it is. Later in the day it seems to be fine but then when I have breakfast I haven't been not eating for hours and hours and am always pretty hungry. I've always been able to eat what I want (save for red meat) with no problems, but I also used to eat more and now I tend to be hungry a lot, so that may be it. I'm going to try just the blueberries and plain yoghurt and have the waffle as a snack mid-morning. Hope that trial is OK. The only time I had an accident with a car in many years of bike riding, including being a messenger, the guy tried to lie his way out of it...in front of the witnesses who came out to help! AND, when he gave me his card, he was the headmaster of a private school. I read that and just looked at him, and he kind of looked away. I was really young, though, and had hit my head and felt dingy, so didn't say anything. I called him later, though, and this time he was cooperative. Since the damage didn't amount to much I let it alone, but did file with the police department.

How do you have a viable defense for Homicide by DUI and unlawful passing on the right? They were going 124 mph. The MC cut off the car he (MC driver) was racing against. The car he was racing hit him. He got ejected onto the road and hit by the trucks and cars in left lane. So it is going to be a sticky case.

Chap, why not add a bit more protein/good fat to breakfast? The waffle/berry/yogurt combo is about 35 carbs, give or take depending on brands. But that might not be all that high depending on what your total carb level is for the day.
Labby, the refusal of the defense attorney to take a plea makes me wonder if they are more concerned with billable hours than they are what is best for their client. That's going to be hard to defend if there were witnesses to the speeding/racing.

Sugar, carbs, what a nightmare. I tried to eat every 2 1/2 hours today. I did eat my prescribed pickles. I just don't understand why all of a sudden I can't eat a darned cookie, but I can after my dinner. But I also had ginger ale at the chemo center which really made the problem worse.
Postprandial hypotension is common with the elderly. And I have been elderly for many years.
With the hypoglycemia, I should have meat with every meal, along with fat. Hardly a healthy diet. So I am modifying that a lot.
However, I shouldn't complain since the ladies on the Facebook groups have to set their alarms every 2 hours to wake up and eat since their glucose is tanking. And they faint a lot.

Whoa! Just read about chaffles. They are waffles made with eggs and a melting cheese. Low carb. Other ingredients can be added. Google to find the recipes. Now I need a waffle iron, but might try to make them like pancakes.

I'm going to shift things around. Maybe a protein shake for breakfast. I started eating berries for breakfast because that's really the only kind of fruit I like and I need to incorporate more fruit. The DH eats this really sweet diet - I don't know how he stands it. A huge fruit scone (like really sweet and heavy) for breakfast with a large pot of strong tea, then peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a banana for lunch, then an apple for snack. He cooks a big dinner. He's tired a lot but he's very rigid on his diet - eats exactly the same thing all the time - he cooks for himself because we have different eating habits. I tend to have to get up in the middle of the night because I don't eat enough during the day (my appetite tends to be uneven - I get hungry but don't care about eating because it's a hassle).

I ordered a rather expensive bra on eBay. I never have problems with delivery but this one show as delivered in my mailbox and no it was not delivered in my mailbox, lol. Maybe someone else's but definitely not mine. I will give it a day or 2 in case it corrects itself then head to the post office to see if I can figure out where it was actually delivered. I order alot of less expensive stuff and of course the rather expensive item gets lost.
Everything else good and can I just voice how blessed I am that fate has brought all these wonderful young women into my life. I didn't realize what I needed in my life but obviously the universe knew what I needed. It is so wonderful helping and guiding the younger ones and watching DIL make my DS so happy and watching them do life together. I am coming up on the one year anniversary of DH's passing on Jan 20th and just reflecting how much life has changed since last year. I hope he is looking down while sitting on the beach with an endless beer in his hand and smiling.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

With the hypoglycemia, I should have meat with every meal, along with fat. Hardly a healthy diet. On the contrary. Meat and fat at every meal is how you maintain a steady blood sugar level. If you have blood sugar swings, you're going to feel hungrier. In addition, if you're concerned about saturated fat, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology has published an article which might surprise you. Here's a key sentence. "Most recent meta-analyses of randomized trials and observational studies found no beneficial effects of reducing SFA intake on cardiovascular disease (CVD) and total mortality, and instead found protective effects against stroke." The article also says, "Whole-fat dairy, unprocessed meat, and dark chocolate are SFA-rich foods with a complex matrix that are not associated with increased risk of CVD. The totality of available evidence does not support further limiting the intake of such foods." www.jacc.org/doi/10.1016/j.jacc.2020.05.077

When you contact the PO they ask the carrier. Sometimes they remember where they delivered it. Also try different mixes of your address so when you ask him or her it might juggle their memory. for example 8002 delivered to 9002. Or 200 Any Street delivered to 200 What Street. Try local community Facebook pages too. “hey did anyone receive my package?”.

I know that avocados and nuts are healthy fats. Both of them have folic acid that I have to avoid because of my chemo. I do eat cheese, peanut and almond butter and the lowest folic nuts. The hypoglycemia gals eat bacon and sausage with their meals which I love, but they are processed. And some eat coconut oil by the tablespoon. I am going to avoid those.

None of them have had me reduce anything but sodium and processed sugar in my diet. Meats are fine, eggs are encouraged, and I keep low glycemic fruit around the house for my sugar cravings (berries, grapes, pears are my faves). I've NEVER been told to cut back on red meat. What the docs tell me is totally opposite of what my dad was told 40 years ago.

Our carriers have to scan the packages when delivered and the GPS should show where it was left off.

It's cured with celery, not sodium nitrate. You can also make your own sausage. It will probably be patties but it still can taste good. Or look for all natural sausage (no MSG, reduced sodim). Those might work for you. www.thekidneydietitian.org/low-sodium-sausage/

And Walmart has a lot of varities of all natural sausage.

I had a text this morning that my SS check had been deposited. At first I was confused - isn't today Friday? Why is my Tuesday check here? What the heck? Then I remembered it was deposited early last month, on Monday (my bank changed their DD rules and make funds available sooner). But this Monday was a holiday so I figured it would hit Tuesday. Nope, hit today. Then I discoverd the COLA raise apparently started with December, and not January as I expected. So the check was 4 days early and more than I expected. I can live with that Off to my mail place and then the grocery store. I have to upload digital files all weekend to our server, but at least I can do it in short time batches and on my schedule. We're closed Monday, so I'll probably watch some webinars. I'm behind on some training I need to do. This week was nuts. I think I've earned a stop at Starbucks today

They probably do the same with SS deposits. I get our paycheck notifications on Wednesday night. Yes, it shows but payday is Friday.

PS: starting weight loss plan Sunday or Monday. Depends as the kids come back to the college Sunday and I don’t want to be cranky from dieting. And surely hoping I will have a new walking partner soon (woof woof). Need a walking dog who isn’t aging out, arthritic or a watcher.

It's for all direct deposits. My bank has always made the funds available a day early, and last month it went to 2 days early. I just didn't expect the SS check until Tuesday, given Monday is a holiday. But hey, I'm not complaining! I think tonight I will tackle the Ikea console table I bought. It doesn't have a lot of parts so hopefully it will easy to assemble. Ikea's assembly instructions suck.

I couldn't do it because of my folic restrictions. It's really easy to get enough protein and be vegetarian - my friend who runs marathons has been vegetarian almost all of his life. The old style of having to carefully match foods for protein (i.e., "Diet for a Small Planet") isn't necessary - you just need to get it into your system over a series of hours. I really dislike red meat in almost all varieties save for bacon and sausage, but will eat chicken and fish, if it's locally raised/fished. This is for a general healthy diet - not for people with special food needs. I'll have to revisit the egg situation - I love eggs but really restrict them.

My BC situation doesn't help since I can't have tofu (yuck) or pure soy products. And I can't have foods high in folic. So my veggie choices are limited. Did you see my above post about chaffles? They are egg-cheese waffles with a lot of varieties. I need to order in some shredded cheddar to start making them. My breakfast is always a scrambled egg with a slice of cheddar cheese. Then there is an Oreo chaffle....
