Can you go back to the dentist to have them re-adhere the tempororary crown?

Bliss- call the dentist and you should be able to get in asap to have it "re-glued". I had that happen with a bridge and got in same day and on my way in no time.

We're getting some winter weather. 47 right now with a high of 56. It rained overnight but it looks like it'll just be cloudy today which is good because it's a shop day. These temporary crowns are going to be a problem. The three on each side are all one piece. The right side came off last night and I wasn't even eating anything chewy or crunchy. Guess it'll be soups soft foods only for a while. I've been thinking about making shepherd's pie, now I have an extra good reason. You can use polident to put it back in place. Let the dentist know it came off.

Had a good time Tuesday at the casino. Stopped at a dive bar on the way for lunch with excellent food, generous portions and friendly atmosphere. Too bad it's almost 2 hours away because I'd love to try more of their food, it's that good. We both had enough for 2 full meals. DH wound up $15 ahead on video poker and I lost $48 between slot machine and video poker.

Beautiful sunny day with a high of 80 today.
But, alas, thsi weekend a cold front moves in with a maybe low in the high 20s one night. Monday morning will be our first freeze.
Guess I need to get some cuttings from my Angel Trumpet plants to spend the winter in my bathroom like last year. They were just getting ready for another round of blooms. I hate winter.

Kritter, if you hate winter down yonder, I can just imagine the expletives flying spending one up here.

We had a little casino fun over the weekend too. Actually made $60 last a few hours playing roulette and only left $30 in the hole. A few times I got up over $70, wish I would have cashed out then. Have a feeling we'll end up there again over the weekend.
Had to run some what should have been "quick" errands but got held up every where I went. The pharmacy... om my. I got to the drive up 10 minutes after they opened and there were already 10 or so cars in line. So I went inside, heard them telling people in the drive though that they were extremely short staffed (picked up some polident... thanks labby). Then had drop off a damaged toaster at UPS that cliff ordered on Amazon, he texted me the qr code for the return but I use the dark mode on my phone and apparently scanners can only pick them up on a traditional white background. Had to get out of line and figure out how to change it. Lots of challenges this morning. Back home now, a lot to do around here. Can't decide what to tackle first.
High today will be 60, tomorrow it's supposed to be a 52 with 90% chance of rain.

Kritter, if you hate winter down yonder, I can just imagine the expletives flying spending one up here. Not happening because I would never be spending a winter up there. I spent one winter in the New York/New Jersey are for a job one year and I hated every.single.minute of it. If I hadn't been paid extremely well it never would have happened.

Unlike Kritter, I'm looking forward to some seasonal cold weather I need to remember to water my big fern and the rosemary plant Saturday, before the cold hits.

Guess it'll be soups soft foods only for a while. I've been thinking about making shepherd's pie, now I have an extra good reason. I had a crown put on about 13 years ago. I'd been seeing the same dentist for years at that time (and still do) and he really should have but didn't mention be careful what you eat with the temporary crown on. I'd never had a crown before so I didn't realize you need to be careful and got to munching on some peanut m&m's and bang that thing came off in a heart beat lol. I called and they got me in right away and fixed it. I was too embarrassed to mention the M&M's part so I just said I was eating peanuts Partial truth. I miss Peanut M&M's. The parosomia makes them taste weird, however plain taste the same as they always have.
Like Val I am looking forward to some cooler weather. I don't want it frigid but dang we have 8 months of summer here pretty much and I'd like SOME cool weather to enjoy. It's supposed to be quite cold Sunday and Monday, but warming up again by Wed. My a/c has been running the last 2 weeks. Although I have to admit I love all the beautiful flowers blooming.
DH and I went to VV yesterday and I used my 1/2 card I earned on Black Friday. It was fairly crowded for a random Wed but I think everyone has the same idea; use their card. It's only valid the 26th-1st, so a short window. I feel like I did ok. I sure was tired when we were done!
Well I need to get the laundry down and get DIL cake started. The older I get the faster the days get away from me!

I had a "Maryland Bridge" for a few years since I was trying to put off the expense of getting a partial. It was a fake tooth "attached" to the tooth on each side.
It came off about 7 times, before I finally gave up. And I seldom even chewed on that side. When soup was knocking it out, I gave in.

Exactly my sentiments! I don't want feet and feet of snow, just some seasonal cool weather so I can wear some of my fall clothes.

I'm enjoying all of the cheap sweaters that I bought about a month ago. WM had some cute ones. I wasn't sure how they'd wash up but they came out fine in the delicate cycle, laid flat to dry.

We still have snow here - I've been driving around using chains - a lot of the back roads never get ploughed and I live in the back roads - I hate driving with those things on ploughed roads, though - so afraid I'll snap one of them! It keeps people at home, though. Some of those roads are nearly impassible by two cars or people walking and cars, because so many people who lived up on the ravines dumped their cars there for lack of being able to get up and down their steep, long driveways. I don't think any of them have moved for days lol.
I had my third class in three days at Orange Theory - I did OK all things considered, but had to laugh at this young couple complaining about how they 'trashed' their knees and 'killed' their legs and now they were walking like 'an old person' LOL.

Meant to post this - it just cracked me up, mostly because on every job I had since the mid-80s I always ended up being the 'help desk' for any computers we had, including teaching people on them. It was EXACTLY like this.
The Medieval Help Desk.

We are having our New Years dinner today. It is dark and dreary here again. A bit warm for December. Supposed to rain all day tomorrow and warm up. Then drop Sunday night. Then we might see the sun a little. Just depressing weather…
Will go out walking later today.
As expected, a nice paycheck due to holiday pay at work. It helps this coming month will all kinds of bills coming in.
Spring is coming…

For Twilight Zone fans, SyFy channel is running a marathon til 6am Sunday.
In my opinion, one of the best shows ever.

I've been needing a new office chair so I decided to start the new year with a new chair. Found a nice Serta chair, $271 total on Overstock. I decided to look for more reviews though, before buying, and ended up getting the same exact chair from Big Lots for $128 total. Wow. It pays to use the various Chrome shopping apps!! BTW, check out the Cently app and the RetailMeNot app. Both offer cash back on a lot of sites, will usually pop up if they have coupons for the site you are on, and will automatically apply the various coupons at most sites. You can also check them manually when you are on a website, to see if there are available coupons you need to copy/paste. I was able to stack two coupons at BigLots.

Happy New Year.
I woke up right at midnight when the fireworks drove the dogs nuts. Had to wait an hour to try to get them out to potty.
Hubby went to one of those used office furniture stores for an office chair. Personally I think the one he got could have been purchased new for a bit more…

Loks like we will be going from a high of 80 this afternoon to a low of 30 overnight so I will be getting out my pruning shears and gathering in some cuttings of my Angel Trumpets that will spend the winter in my bathroom. I used to cover all my favorite plants when it got to freezing weather but there are too many of them now so the ones I lose, I will replace. Very hard to find the Angel Trumpets accept by mail order and then it is a crap shoot if they live or not so this will be my second year of bathroom plants. I HATE WINTER!

YOU hate winter? At least you'll still have temps above 40 degrees the next few months. The rollercoaster weather is headed towards the end with smaller dips. Highest next 7 days is around 42 for high and dipping down to 11 degrees at night with 30s and 20s in between. Time to dig out the Carhartt flannel lined jeans, winter boots, socks, etc. Today is rain, rain and more rain with solid white sky and overcast "blah".
