Catch the reruns Stay. For a show aimed at teenagers, it was pretty funny.

I moved all the death threads to one thread. Please post future announcements on this one instead of starting a new one, please. I have a feeling there will be more this year.

The way things have already started out, this will probably be a long thread.
RIP, Hal. I remember him in so many roles.

RIP Captain Tom
You won so many hearts when you showed the world that despite your age or disabilities you can make a difference in the world.

I've never seen The Sound of Music, just random clips. But I do remember him from one of the Star Trek movies.

He was just in Knives Out. A really great actor in that British/Canadian Shakespeare tradition. RIP.

He was getting ready to play Lear at age 91. Kind of in the Olivier mold of acting that is both vigorous and nuanced.

Sad, she was very talented in her own right & finally found some respect in the last few decades. RIP.

On another note, IDK how it got missed in here, but Leslie West, famed lead guitarist of Mountain passed away this year. His passing was HUGE in the music community. Although Mountain never achieved amazing success except for 1 song - Mississippi Queen, he was revered amongst musicians (and by fans) & his style of playing influenced many musicians over the last 50 years. He was a truly great talent! Here's the Rolling Stone article. I see it was technically the end of 2020, but I know he didn't make our list & wanted to correct that oversight, as his skill was so amazing! www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/leslie-west-dead-1106777/

Sorry Val, I was apparently typing while you posted. I don't think mine is political at all, but feel free to remove. If you do so, I'd appreciate if you'd leave the part about Leslie West's passing in, as he was not a political figure.

OMG, thank you for posting! I'm prolly the only one here who knows him, but I LOVE them & actually had just put a CD on my watch list a couple of months ago. I shoulda gotten it, I'm sure the prices will go up even more now & they were expensive. I did not know he was a DJ. Great 70's rock! RIP Michael www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBdqjx89fBA - Strike Up the Band www.youtube.com/watch?v=tj09Xr-6qyQ - My Town - this was his 'hit' that was played on MTV www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mZIxEWrtcE - Rosewood Bitters, my fave Sorry these are early 70's, so I tried to pick the ones with the best audio ETA: I've been sobbing since I read this :-( DH keeps looking at me weird, he's like it's not like you actually knew him. Another part of my youth is gone :-( I hate getting old!

Another part of my youth is gone :-( I hate getting old! I wasn't a huge fan, but I always liked him and listened to him on WNCX frequently. It seems like just a couple days ago the news mentioned he had serious health issues and was unable to do his radio slot. Then I log in to the news and saw he'd died and teared up. I still remember a Big Chuck and Little John episode where Michael Stanley's walking down a sidewalk in downtown Cleveland carrying a guitar case and someone asks how to get to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Stanley's answer, "Practice" and keeps going.

That's cute Not a HUGE fan, but I def have several of his albums, still on LP & I can sing my faves, off the top of my head. I thought he was super talented & as everyone said, he shoulda made it national. Tho' having Joe Walsh record Rosewood Bitters, I'm sure provided decent income. I always thought he was very attractive too & I see he kept that into his older age. Still, I didn't love him the way I loved Artful Dodger!
