Packages must be moving out of San Antonio on schedule so far. Two packages were sent Priority on Monday and the package to NM arrived yesterday and the package to Dallas was delivered last night.
The first class package I mailed yesterday processed through the SA sorting center at 6:06 this morning. Delivery to recipient scheduled for Monday 12/14. It is going to Nicholasville KY.
Usually my items clear the sorting center around midnight so definitely taking longer at sort center.

On my main ID I've mailed 90 packages so far this month. Having a lot of issues right now, seems like every day this week a new buyer is inquiring about their item. I've been submitting the the lost mails forms on line, getting pretty quick and efficient at doing them. I think they might be pointless too but agree, it lets the buyer know that you're being pro active and it beats sitting on hold forever like we did in previous years (or I did anyway).
Things that I dropped off on 12/3 seems to be the biggest problem. They were all scanned as accepted and got big time stuck along the way.
Fingers crossed that stuck packages start moving soon. I haven't gotten any dings for late scans/deliveries in months, possibly since spring. I didn't think they were still doing that. They show up but then go under removed transactions on the report.

When a buyer makes an “item not received” request
A buyer can only open an “item not received” request after the estimated delivery date plus 1 day. When a request is opened the seller has 3 business days to respond before the buyer can ask eBay to step in.
If tracking on the item shows movement within the past 10 calendar days and the parcel is in the destination country, we’ll keep the request open for 10 more days from the time the buyer asked eBay to step in to allow additional time for the item to be delivered. After that time, if there is no updated activity, eBay will consider the item lost and we’ll ask the seller to refund the buyer.
I hope that's enough time. I'm a bit worried about returns too if people don't get their items in time for Christmas. I already had one buyer tell me that she wanted to be refund if her item didn't arrive by a certain date. Thankfully it arrived well before her cut off time.
I've been trying not too look too much because it stresses me out but I just did anyway. On the 2nd a bunch of my package went to NM and have been stuck with no movement since. Well one was sent to it's next destination on 12/7 but nothing since. I cringe every time I see packages making a pit stop in NM, the buyers are not in NM so I don't understand why packages go there. When they end up there they stay there for a bit even under normal circumstances. Not good at all. At least everyone is being very patient.
I need to stop looking. I'm going to drive myself crazy. Pricey item was mailed to Kentucky on 11/30. Was scanned 6 times in NM on 12/2 and 12/3. Arrived in Aurora Colorado on 12/6, then Denver same day. Now it's being process through Indiana. At least it's getting closer I guess.

I read that. I'm glad they are doing that much. But today I got an email from ebay asking me to take action on an INR case by tomorrow to remain in good standing. The item was MIA and then on the 7th got scanned in Ohio. It hasn't moved since. I opened an inquiry and USPS closed it the next day. I added a message to case to try to stall for a bit more time because I know eventually it will get where it is going. I talked to a friend of mine yesterday that is retired from USPS. She used to work in the Indy sorting facility where everything seems to get stuck. She loaded and unloaded trucks, so she's familiar with how it works. She said pretty much what I suspected. Packages come in and then more come in and the first ones get pushed to the back or the bottom. No one pays any attention to what was there first. They just load the trucks with whatever is in front of them. So if they don't clear out all the packages the same ones can get left behind day after day. Not much I can do about those except wait. I just hope I don't have to start issuing a bunch of refunds.

I filed a claim today on one of mine that I mailed on 11/25. It has been stuck in Indianapolis since 11/26. The tracking is weird. It shows my local PO has it on 11/25. Then on 11/29 it shows PRE-SHIPMENT INFO SENT USPS AWAITS ITEM SOUTH BEND, IN 46617. I've never seen that so out of wack before. I've noticed there are a lot of issues with tracking info on ebay so I've been checking a lot of stuff on USPS. I have a couple ebay items that don't show any tracking but the USPS site does. It will be interesting to see if USPS pays this claim. I don't want the money, I went them to get the package to the buyer in CO.

The shipping companies are going to be inundated shipping the Covid 19 vaccine now too.
My handgun is coming FedEx. I have a delivery date. Hoping that is when it comes because between me and hubby one of us should be home. An adult has to sign for it.

Sales are slow today and in a way I'm relieved. I'd love to extend my handling time to turn off buyers but I can't afford to miss any sales. Well I can but I don't want to. Just have to hope that it all ends up working out on time.

I have been checking my orders pretty often and found a PR package that I sent on Dec 2 from here in PA to MS. It took 8 days, until today, to get to Tenn. So I wrote to my buyer & sent her the tracking info. They really appreciate the heads-up that I give. It helps that I only have 2-3 packages sent out per day.

Look like some packages shook loose last night. Still a lot more to go. I've been looking on USPS though, Ebay tracking doesn't seem to be current most of the time. There's one that was mailed on 12/7, local so less than 30 miles away and it's still in limbo.

The package I am waiting for finally moved but got stuck again. I asked for tracking on it and have gotten at least 3 notices that that it's "in transit, arriving late".

I am mailing a package today to California that I am upgrading to Priority. I have no faith in First Class making it to California in the near future.

Unfortunately with regard to shipping time, I don't think it matters how you ship it, but you will have insurance. I just looked at my shipped items (I did not realize ebay that when you look at shipped items, they indicate the shipping status as "Shipped Dec XX" or "Delivered Dec XX" so I thought it was going to be a lot more cumbersome than it is). I have one that says shipped Nov 27, and the tracking "Out for delivery" on December 4 and "Awaiting delivery scan" on December 5. Hope this buyer doesn't see it and decide she can get her item for free, because it apparently did not get scanned when it was delivered.

It makes me feel like I am being a little more proactive in getting the package there even if it really makes no difference and it may even cut me some slack with the buyer if the package gets stuck somewhere.
I will let her know the package has a free shipping upgrade from me so she knows I am doing the best that I can under circumstances beyond my control.

I have both priority and first class packages that are stuck in the system. At least with priority they are insured. I'm filing lost mail claims when each hit 15 days. I'm hoping that will help to shake them loose.

Look at this craziness. I put this in the drop box on 12/6, My local PO assures me that every thing leaves there every night. It took 3 days for an acceptance scan. Then it when to Indy and got scanned 9 times while other things don't get scanned at all. I feel sorry for the people working at these facilities. It must be chaos.

Got my first neutral for slow shipping. I'd been communicating with the buyer and even got a case opened for their item, they even said in the feedback "it wasn't their fault". Grrrr. It's on my little id so I don't care too much. Trying to decide if I want to tackle getting it removed now or wait for more and do them all at once... lol

After reading this thread, I went to check all my non-delivered pkgs & at least here, it's WAY WAY better than it was earlier in the year. So far. Looks like most of my pkgs are now taking around 7-8 days. Still a million times better than this Summer when a number of them were taking 2-3 weeks & every night's pkgs were an adventure. Now they are all going to their normal sort center. Earlier this year, every night's would go somewhere totally different & it was a crap shoot what sort center in what state they were going to. Now, they are taking routing that makes geographical sense, earlier they were bouncing all over the US for weeks - going to WA state when they were headed to VA or Las Vegas when they were going to Mpls.
Also, when I went to look at the tracking last night, they all had a giant alert that carriers are experiencing slow downs, so I think Ebay is handling it better too. They didn't pay attn at all early in the pandemic.
Personally, I'd ask now for the Neutral to be removed b/c although YMMV, even early in the year when many of my pkgs were taking 2-3 weeks, I did not get any negs or neuts over it. Buyers were very understanding. So, it's quite possible you may not get any more.

The other two days are for potential USPS delays.

I printed a Priority label this morning for a package going to some small town In Pa. and the expected delivery date on the USPS printing label page said expected delivery was between 12/18 and 12/23. I upgraded shipping from First Class and glad I did.
I am going to run it out to our airport post office as it is open late on Saturdays and on Sunday. Might as well get it on it's way.

I need to stay competitive and put myself in the best position possible so a one day handling time isn't an option for me. Although I do have 2 day on my little id, it's fun being lackadaisical with that one. Making a 2nd trip to the post office before they close at 5.
oh and I just noticed a little bit ago on my 2nd id that a buyer opened an item not received case on the 10th. They said they wanted a refund. Checked the tracking and it was out for delivery then a short time later, it was delivered. Not sure what to do with that one, ignoring for right now as the case should close on it's own and hopefully the buyer won't bug me. Cheap item but I don't need another hassle to deal with.

I've got 6 Etsy order "Arriving Late" as of this moment. Two of them I opened lost package claims on and still nothing. That's over $100 if I have to refund, and this month's sales are in the pits!

I have two packages that I mailed earlier this week where I put email updates on and both are moving through the system. One to Kentucky and one to California. One first class and one Priority. Both scheduled to be delivered on Monday.
The Kentucky First Class one was mailed last Monday and the California Priority one was mailed last Friday. Looks like if packages stay on a southern route and don't get bogged down in the mail path across the country they might move along OK.
The Priority package that I mailed yesterday is going to PA. so that one might run into some clogs.

I got up early and started working on lost mail requests on USPS. I was able to enter all of them up until the 7th then got cut off, I guess you can't submit them until day 6. There ended up being 8, figured I'll get up and do the next days every morning. Copied and pasted all them with a note to the buyers. I'm surprised that all these people are being so patient.
After going through a bunch of tracking numbers. This one is the most bizarre as the buyer is in Queen Creek, maybe 30 miles away.

I wonder if the larger retailers mentioning the shipping delays may be helping to keep it top of mind for buyers? My DSW order included a large notice at the top regarding shipping delays.
