YAY The ACO is going over to pick up Shadow right now and take her home with her. Shadow is going to have some down time at her house. The Cat Gods are working overtime tonight.

Poor Shadow, she is lucky to have a champion in you to fight for her. Some people are just too dumb to be around animals. Glad she got out of there tonight, the Cat Gods got it right.

LOLOL Love the Divine Mother Goddess of All Cats. Thank goodness we have such a great ACO although she was waffling a bit this afternoon about forcing a return instead of it being their idea. I think that is when the Cat Goddess came into play and changed their minds about keeping Shadow because not long after they called the ACO and wanted her to come get Shadow. It was after her working hours but she went and got her because she knew I would have gone myself if she hadn't gone. Now we need her help with Dandelion, the little one going to the vet tomorrow.

Yay for Shadow! You rock, Kritter. Dandelion - what a cute name for a kitten!

I hate that "Awwww, but we really love her" crap. It takes more than "love" to have an animal.
It takes common sense, a willingness to seek help and to LEARN, and it takes empathy. Yes, that's right all you dopey pet owners out there, especially those renovating houses, it takes empathy. You have to imagine you're the new cat or the current dog. You have to try to imagine how they feel. Yes, animals do have feelings. And yes, they might be different from yours.
Grrrr.
Dandelion! You stole one of the super-terrific cat names I'm hoarding! But they'll be in different hemispheres, so I suppose there's enough room for both.

Dandelion goes to Kenya's vet today to see if there is any hope that her elimination issues may be solved with time.
Then she comes back here for foster.
I hate that too and it cuts no sway with me. The ACO is still young with good thoughts for all but I will set her straight at least when it comes to cats.

There's a reason we (most of us) get wiser as we age. It's so we can stomp on the namby-pamby ideals of the youngsters, lol. Fingers and clawed toes crossed for Dandelion. If this is the vet that cured Kenya then it's her best shot. (((Dandelion))) And some vets are just pessimists. I once ended up with two vets treating Bubby for a growth in her throat. It always worked out that I'd see them alternately. One would say, "Cancer" and I'd be in floods of tears and the other would say "granuloma" and I'd be all hopeful. Thank heavens the optimist was right. So Dandelion may end up fine, with time and care.

The first person that asked about Shadow but wasn't ready to take her because she was moving contacted Angela, the ACS person, this afternoon and asked again about Shadow. She moves into her apartment next weekend and has already paid the pet deposit and bought some things for Shadow. Just her and her husband and NO OTHER ANIMALS. Shadow will stay with Angela in foster since I have Dandelion and the two that go to HS next Thursday. Shadow slept with Angela last night.

Plus this moving lady has had time to think about it and cool off without having the cat around to influence her. That's a very good sign that her brain is involved, not just her fancies.

The moving lady had first contacted us several days before Halloween but wanted to wait to take Shadow until after they moved so she has had plenty of time to drift away from her first impulse. Its too bad that Shadow had to go through the home experience from the dark side before we found the right one for her. Paying the pet deposit before you actually have the pet goes a long way in my book.
