Went walking this morning and one of the streets was having an Easter egg hunt with the plastic eggs. It is a cul de sac so no one would be driving by that didn’t belong there. Looked like fun.
Work today - not a holiday.

Happy Easter everyone! All my guests are off for their holiday dinner at my brother's house while I'm lying on the couch with my laptop searching for baking times. No matter how many hams I've cooked over the years, I still need to search for the baking time. I have a Triple M Budaball ham with bone (the best tasting to us) in the oven and will eat later with DH. Peace and quiet!

And I consulted my 60+ year old Betty Crocker cookbook for my deviled egg recipe.

Does anyone else read the instructions on the box, toss it into the trash. And then take it back out of the trash to read the instructions again?

Guilty! Best Buy is on my crap list right now. They did not wipe the hard drive before they bundled up my open box computer, they left the PC in store demo mode, and they didn't clear out the admin login (which is apparently an employee named Rodney). I can't do squat with the new PC. I can't remove the demo app, and I can't log in as admin to install any new programs or make system changes. None of the online fixes I found worked. I can't decide if I want to take it back to the store tomorrow, or try the customer service # first. I'm afraid if I call I'll get a tech whose is ESL and I'll spend time on the phone and still have to take the PC to the store. Arrggghhhh!!!!!! It's especially frustrating because if you want to trade in a device, their online instructions REPEATEDLY tell you to wipe the system. Yet they don't follow their own advice. On a brighter note, my new "retro typewriter type" keyboard works great on both computers. For those here who aren't overly fond of the current flat key keyboards, or just want some fun color in your office: Fun Colors Typewriter Style KeyboardI bought the purple. You can also get this style keyboard in solid colors, or just two-tone but those are different listings.

Oh boy that would tick me off Val. I hope they help you. I would walk right in to the customer service counter. Tell them either fix it right then or you want to return it.

That keyboard looks like candy to me. Cute.
I would go back to the store. I have tried in the past to call them and was on hold for a million years.
Was finally able to mow my back yard this afternoon. The grass was a foot high and still a bit wet. Didn't do the front since it isn't nearly as high, but does have a lot of tufts of some kind of weed. After it rains as predicted for 5 days, the front and back will probably be the same height.
My daughter cooked a ton of food and this time there were 14 people that all came at different times.

Our back grass needs cutting but we need to fill in digger dog holes first. I kind of hope hubby will mow the grass anyway. We can’t wait until his bonus or our tax refund comes to mow it.

This was my mom’s. I have a three ring binder style of it. Mine might be from 1984 or so.

When my mom left us when I was 12, my dad bought me the Betty Crocker cookbook since I had to take over the role of cook for my dad and ex-brother. My mom had only given us packaged and burned food. So I had a lot to learn.
Fortunately, I had home-ec in middle-school which helped me a bit.

Loved it. And I actually almost believed it, until I remembered that it was a joke. But I was thinking about how they made the cats actually care about their duties.

Well, good news and bad news on my new PC. I do have to take it back to the store (I pretty much expected that) but it shouldn't cost me anything for them to wipe the hard drive and set it up properly. Guess I'll take it Wednesday since I'm off. Partly cloudy, 80 and humid here. The landscape guys are outside with the leaf blowers. All they do is blow the leaves from the parking lot onto the grass and rock areas, and add to the air pollution since they're using gas blowers. Kinda usless exercise IMO. But at least I won't feel bad when I blow the leaves off my patio back on to the rocks where the leaves came from

My mom and her sisters graduated from Notre Dame College in South Euclid Ohio. The college is closing. Way back they all majored in dietetics. My mom was a great cook. Whenever I asked her for recipes she simply said it was in Betty Crocker’s Cookbook.

My grandmother on my dad's side was German and she cooked some really good stuff. My grandmother on my mom's side was southern and she cooked some really good stuff too. Obviously they made different dishes. My mom though was an OK cook. Not bad, but not inspired either. My dad had a few really good dishes he made. I have yet to replicate my maternal grandmother's pot roast and my dad's meat loaf. I have however not only matched my dad's pasta sauce, but exceeded it My mom made awesome beef stroganoff. She overloaded it with mushrooms. Worked for me! I need to make that one day. I don't know if I still have my Betty Croker cookbook or not. I have several low carb cookbooks that have awesome recipes. I also use recipes from www.recipetineats.com/ . She's in Australia but provides both Euro/Australian and American instructions/measurements. Her recipes are really good, especially the slow cooker turkey breast.
