I really like the layout of the description/terms breaking it up in sections with bullet points and short, concise writing. The only thing I can suggest is a pic of the back. Nice pics and professional look on the listing. For someone who hasn't listed clothing in awhile, that's an excellent job!

Great ad! I would add a pic of the back and I also add the fabric content in my description. And the washing instructions, too.
Like this...80% Cotton, 20% Polyester Machine wash, tumble dry
I like the bullet points, which is what I do also.
A black torso might throw off the color, so watch that.
Yay that you made sales already!

Thank you. I'll add shoulder and sleeve measurements to the tops I listed last night and when I get to pants I'll do waist, hips, inseams, rise and bottom opening. Here is one listing, feedback? www.ebay.com/itm/385431548199?hash=item59bd82b127:g:ZLUAAOSwnZVj9EPhI also have a black torso form and wondering if that might look better on some of the lighter color shirts. Jeez, I haven't done clothing in so long, but I've sold a couple of the shirts already. I took an $80 offer on the Burberry one and they backed out PS- I know some are put off by the terms and stuff in the listing, but I wanted them all in there...not sure why. I think your terms are fine and the listing looks good!

Pics of the backs will be added. Thank you all for the encouragement. I have been looking at all this stuff for awhile and was going to just sell it all in one big lot, but figured I will just try to give it a go again. I did well with all the swimwear that I bought and still have some left, so as we start to come into summer, I'll start listing them soon.

I also think your listing looks good. For those kind of tops, I think bust and length measurements like you have are enough.
I wouldn't have a clue of what my shoulder measurements is so, for me, that is not a biggie in a listing. When I list sleeve length I usually do shoulder seam to cuff.I

When you list a hip measurement, specify where you measured it. For example, this number of inches below the waist, the underarm seam, the shoulder, etc.

I always wondered about men's sleeves, since they measure starting at the middle back. Lots of room for mistakes there. Can you see a man actually doing that?

It's really not necessary to do all those measurements. For tops, chest & length are the main ones, for pants, waist & inseam. I used to do a lot more, ie: hips, sleeves, rise, rear rise, shoulders & while I still sometimes do hips & sleeves, I quit doing all the others & I have only had the occasional person ask. I have both Black & White forms for the best contrast. However, if you don't have/don't want to bother, you can use this great software someone here pointed me to, it has the best background burner I've ever used & I tried a bunch of them. www.photoroom.com/background-removerI have also been toying with the idea of not bothering w/measurements at all. LOTS of sellers do it. I've even done it at times when I've been in a crunch time-wise. I DO get asked more often when I don't do them, but lots of people buy without. I think it depends on if you can afford to lose those people who hit the back button b/c you don't have measurements. I can afford to lose them. YMMV. ETA: I would add NEW or NWT to the title of that one. It's not necessary b/c it's in the Condition, but it helps for browsers. Also, keep in mind that Jrs do not sell that well on eBay. If you have a choice between Jrs & Misses or Plus, I'd always choose Jrs last.

It only takes me a minute to measure a garment - I hang them all up in the doorway and measure them one after another, jotting down the measurements on some scratch paper. It's all of 10 minutes to measure a day's worth of listing. I just use basic measurements, too, though.

It hasn't been that much more to measure actually. I used to measure everything, put them on a spreadsheet and then list. Seems to be a lot easier to just measure while I'm listing and enter it all when I'm entering everything else. All of my stuff has been updated with measurements, back photos and NWT in the titles (except on because there is a pending offer sent and except the men's shirts).
We are snowed in today, so plan on listing more today. Thanks again for all the help and suggestions.

I do the tape measure on the item and take a pic and generally use it in the listing. That is the easiest way for me.
I still get questions about measurements even when I do the pics and type it out in the listing. I don't always add the info in the description.
I also have a small white board and will write measurements and take a picture of the whiteboard and the item for sale. I also take a pic (never put in listing) of the item on the scale so I know the weight. I take pics and weigh stuff in a spare bedroom but generally create the listings from the comfort of my couch.

I really have no specific place to work with my 'work stations' scattered around the house. I was thinking of conslidating in the dining area of the kitchen where I have my work table so I can measure and list all at once. Right now I measure everything in the bedroom on the futon and jot the measurements down on a piece of scratch paper, then bring everything into my office/study and list it all, but it's nice to cut out a few steps!

When I started to sell in 2005, I would put a large lawn & leaf bag on my carpet, and measure the item there and then list it on my desktop. Then when my knees got bad, I measured the item on my couch. But now since my back is bad, I measure on my dining room table....5 items at a time. Then bring them down into my family room to list. How things change....

As a buyer, I'll buy with just bust/length (tops) or inseam (pants). But if there are no measurements at all, I won't buy from anywhere except the actual retailer, and then only if they have a store here I can return the purchase to. Too many brands are making plus size tops shorter lately (save money maybe?) so if there is no length, I'm not buying. Not even from a major retailer. But that's just me.

When buying pants for myself I must know waist & hip measurements. My current body measurements are 30 1/2 waist, 43 hips. When I was young & thin my waist was 23 1/2, hips 36. Most pants are intended for a body with 10 or less inches difference between waist and hips. I've always had 12" or more. And now with the low rise pants so low that some call it waist when it's below your belly button, I have to know the rise also. That's doubly important because my body in low rise pants is hilarious. I know. I tried on some in the privacy of a fitting booth, looked up to see myself in the mirror and literally burst into laughter!

That's why I love Chico's travelers pants. Mine fit fine when I was 25 pounds heavier. Size 1 !! Kind of "one size fits all".
And they still fit, thanks to the elastic waist.
I tried on a pair of jeans last week that I hadn't worn in 10 years and they fit, but they weren't comfortable at all.

I can't wear jeans at all. I haven't in about 15 years. Since my diabetes affects the feeling on my legs, I can't stand how jeans feel touching them But, I always wear dress pants or slacks, so I always feel 'professional' LOL

Ugh- jeans. Talk about bog standard boring clothing - if I'm going to be uncomfortable in an unforgiving iron-hard fabric it'll be in something that not everyone.on.earth seems to be wearing.

Consider me the standard bearer for bog standard boring clothing. The only pants that I wear are jeans. Jeans in the winter and cutoff jeans in the summer when I am not wearing denim dresses or jean skirts.

As long as jeans are made from fabric with a little bit of stretch, I think they're very comfortable.

I practically live in my Carhartt relaxed fit Jasper jeans. Flannel lined Carhartts when weather is really cold. Summer is either Carhartts or nylon hiking pants. I'm holding out at long as possible before going the "elastic waist pull on old lady pants".

I am never going there. I decided that back in my 50s, reinforced it in my 60s, and double downed on it in my 70s. Don't see any changes when I hit my 80s which is right around the corner.
No Alfred Dunners for me ever.

I shuddered buying Alfred Dunner pants for Mom because the fabric made me cringe. Thinking I'll just get scrub pants and tie to fit.

I am hoping to find the same style of capris that my daughter bought for me after I broke my leg. Heather knit that are too big now. And I do have denim capris for the summer that will fit okay if I lose a little more lard. I used to wear them 25 years ago....it's been a minute.

I am sticking with my jean wardrobe. No alternatives are acceptable.
They work the best with my Life Is Good cat tee shirts.

My jeans and capris all have elastic waists. I've NEVER been able to wear any other waist style, no matter what weight I was. If it's not elastic, the waistband is too big (even when I was a size 8). Regular style jeans, I spend all day pulling them up. Ugh. Since I wear tunics and not crop tops, you can't tell that the waist is elastic so I don't really care. But I draw the line at Dunner pants. The fabric is nasty. There's another kind of fabric out there, some retailers call it "millenial", it's nasty too. I think I may have one pair of good black slacks for the very few times I need to wear them (don't remember the last time I wore them, LOL). It's jeans and denim capris for me.

Is it just me, or do you agree that for older ladies with a little bit of a "front porch" , most jeans will hold your stomach in a bit, where an elastic waist seems to just accentuate a stomach bulge?
