I can see this. Gap and BR are starting to have a smaller market.
ON is similar to H&M, Forever 21, etc... all the low budget, fast fashion stores. It's mounds and mounds of disposable clothing. Some of it is cute, but if you stare long enough you can watch it pill before your eyes.
Athleta is a no brainer. They should be doing well due to current fashion.

I avoided ON for the LONGEST time due to quality. Recently, they've come a long way. It's all DS wants to wear. He only likes basics so it's perfect!

I used to buy GAP all the time and it sold really well for me. Until about the last 6 months. I can't give it away!

I thought ON was a bit better quality, it seems to hold up and it sells OK, well, for the relative pittance most things sell for these days, I guess. Gap jeans were one of the few jeans that fit me but I don't wear jeans anymore so I don't know how their quality is. We have a lot of ON, H&M and Forever 21 at the thrifts, though.

Yeah, we're afloat in a sea of HM, Forever 21, ON and the mart brands. I like the quality of Banana Republic; maybe if it's harder to get the prices will improve for reselling. Hmm, yeah right; tell me another story grandma, lol.
What I'm beginning to see is the in the thrift is the cheap China fast fashion you see advertised on Facebook or is sold on Amazon.

I think ON's jeans and some of their tee's are decent stuff. It's the sweaters that seemed to lose shape, pill, just become generally crappy after a few washes. Same with H&M and Forever 21. I have a hard time shopping in the latter two because of the sensory overload with their store. Clothes are everywhere. Teens don't seem to mind.

Hmm, yeah right; tell me another story grandma, lol. What I'm beginning to see is the in the thrift is the cheap China fast fashion you see advertised on Facebook or is sold on Amazon.I'm actually seeing well made brands more and more outnumbered by cheap fast fashion in general, but I am also seeing the Chinese stuff sold on Amazon. At first I didn't know what it was because I get so many Chinese and Korean national brands that I figured it was more of the same - it wasn't until I'd been looking at some other items on Amazon that I found it. The dresses I found were pretty well made with great style, but now I know why I can't sell it - it's everywhere for relative pennies new. This was NWT stuff - I have no idea how it would hold up to wash and wear. Another few years and I think all we'll see is older dated well made brands and a lot of ragged fast fashion as it begins to outnumber anything else in clothing donations reflecting a knock-on for changing buying habits and the tendency for the larger chain thrifts to sell their better items online. I'm actually seeing it now.

Most of my wardrobe is F21 and ON. I'm plus size and Lane Bryant and Torrid are out of my budget and honestly, about the same quality as the former lately.

I like Old Navy just fine, used to only buy Gap jeans and liked just about anything at Gap Body. A nicer mall here had a Gap Body/Gap Women's/Gap Men's/Gap Kids and Baby Gap all in a row. I was shocked to see that they closed them all when I was there a few months ago. Cliff is a huge BR fan, he needs tall and likes the quality but has been complaining about their shirt selections for the past year and they stopped making his favorite style of jeans.
I bought a few things at Athleta recently, love their stuff but it's really not affordable for me so I'll buy/charge when I can and use what ever discounts they offer up but was told they don't have many sales and you have to be a card member to be invited to their sales. They seem to have quality stuff that will last though.
