kidgear, the only thing(s) I've actually purchased from Pottery Barn are my current duvet cover and shams. They were on clearance when I bought them and for a king size duvet cover and three square shams, I think I paid something like $80, which I didn't think was too bad. Our store is in the mall and I rarely go to the mall (like once a year), but if it were located somewhere more convenient, I'd probably pop in once a week and see what I could pick up at deep discount. It's great that you're inspired to do some of the stuff on your own.
I guess the same thing must happen with the J.Crew catalog. I signed up for them and probably only got four or five before they stopped sending them.

I live in the high desert. Brown. Houses are stucco. More brown. Ugh, ugh, ugh. I declared WAR! on brown two summers ago and bought two hot pink sling back chairs and a orange/pink striped drink table from Target. Then last year, I added a bright turquoise blue bistro set to the mix on the patio. When the flowers finally get here, it will be a very cheery spot. Even without flowers, the turquoise and hot pink furniture was nice to come home to in the winter. Inside, I have lots of colors from sage and teal blue in the living room to red, teal blue and yellow in the bed room. eBay room is hot rose pink and purple. I love color. The more, the better! My car is lime green. Favorite color to wear would be a tie between most any shade of purples and the bright sapphire or cobalt blue that's been out the past 2 summers. Sounds like my porch-dark brown furniture, beige cushions. I bought toss pillows in (of course) beige stripes. Last summer I bought some accent pieces in pops of color and couldn't believe what a difference it made. Bright green frog motif & turquoise/green striped toss pillows, & a couple of turquoise large pots (dirt cheap at joann's fabric marked down) It was a stretch for me to do that but it looks great. I'm thinking I have to get away from all solid colors and try some prints but.......old habits and all:-)

I'm seeing the bright green & turquoise in all the new catalogs coming out so you're right in style.
