I have some new boots and the zipper on one shoe is really hard to zip up or down. I don't see any damaged teeth, and since I bought the last pair in my size, I'd rather keep them than return them. Is there something I can put on the zipper to help it work smoother? Preferably something that won't stain the fabric in the process?
Thanks!

Try rubbing wax paper on them? That works for closet rods.

Run a bar of soap up and down both sides of the zipper.
Graphite or pencil lead may work also depending on the color of the fabric.

Hmmn, they're red quilted boots. Let me try the wax paper first. Not sure about the chapstick, LOL!

Was trying to think of something you have around the house already. The wax paper and chap stick have wax in common. I suppose a candle or paraffin would also work.

Heloise (or Real Simple, or wherever the heck it was I read that tip) is the genius.
