Good Morning Virtual Sellers!
What will you be focusing on today in your online business?
It's picture taking day for me, so this seems like the right day to share a photo tip. There are a lot of criteria for taking good eBay photos, and color accuracy is right up there at the top. One of the simplest ways to achieve that is to use the proper White Balance setting.
Here are some basic pre-set white balance settings you'll find on most digital cameras:**
Auto – this is where the camera makes a best guess on a shot by shot basis. You’ll find it works in many situations but it’s worth venturing out of it for trickier lighting. Tungsten – this mode is usually symbolized with a little bulb and is for shooting indoors, especially under tungsten (incandescent) lighting (such as bulb lighting). It generally cools down the colors in photos. Fluorescent – this compensates for the ‘cool’ light of fluorescent light and will warm up your shots.
Daylight/Sunny – not all cameras have this setting because it sets things as fairly ‘normal’ white balance settings.
Cloudy – this setting generally warms things up a touch more than ‘daylight’ mode.
Flash – the flash of a camera can be quite a cool light so in Flash WB mode you’ll find it warms up your shots a touch.
Shade – the light in shade is generally cooler (bluer) than shooting in direct sunlight so this mode will warm things up a little.

Good Information! I printed this out and will keep it near my photo area because lighting conditions do change there and I can never remember what setting to use. Thanks!

Thanks, great info. That should be posted somewhere.
Today I am hopefully getting to all of the listings I didn't get to yesterday!

I will be listing quite a bit today, but my computer/internet is giving me grief this morning so I'm going to wait awhile. I'm hoping to get at least 30 done today.

Just relists today and more time on taxes. I started the basics last night and tonight I'm moving onto expenses. Seems so much easier to do when I break it up into steps.

Baby-sitting of precious grandson has been cancelled since he has his usual cold and my immunities are low.
So I will list and take more pics of vintage booklets. I also plan to pull out cookbooks of my own that I will never use, to list.

Did some shopping this morning. 1/2 off day at the SA. Now for pictures. Thanks for the settings info. I think I'll play around a bit with it. Usually I just edit all pix but it would be easier to have them adjusted correctly to begin with

I'm feeling really unproductive today, well all of this week really. I think it's the looming taxes that are hanging over my head. I have a hard time focusing on more than one big task at a time. Until those are done I don't see myself going too crazy with listing. Also waiting for a guy to come and fix my garage door, it's a challenge to get it to close. I think it's shot, if so I hope the home warranty I have will cover a new one.

I spent two days last week getting the tax stuff together to turn over to the accountant. I was SO happy to have that behind me. Now the next financial headache. We're doing a refinance and submitting all the stuff for that was wearing on me. Finally got word today that we're approved, so now just have to meet to sign some papers and we'll have that behind us, too.
Got all but one of my Lilly P.'s listed yesterday, which was my stated goal, so I was happy with myself. Found a spot on the one that I didn't list, but I treated and washed it again and it came out, so I'll try and get that up soon. Plus, one of the Lilly's I listed sold within a few hours last night. That's always fun.
Have doctor and hair appointments tomorrow, so that'll end up taking up most of the day.
Now that I've listed the Lilly P's and all my spring/summer dresses, I'm going to move on to lightweight jackets. I've probably got about 10-12 of those to list.

So far I've only listed 15 out of the 30 I was planning to do... stopped to eat and about to hit it again. I think I can get it done.

I went to the bins yesterday and today. Got 6 up last night, and nothing today, due to baseball practice. Tomorrow I am at my other job, and Friday as well-- and we have baseball and birthday parties afterwards, so no listing for me until at least Saturday. My sales are tanking due to not listing, I have got to get the machine cranking again.

Zilch done on eBay today. This week and part of next week are my busiest of the year. By the time I get home, my mind is fried and doesn't want to do anything. So I don't.

If they held bday parties at our bins they would serve raw meat instead of cake. The regulars here are animals.

Thanks, great info. That should be posted somewhere. Jellybean, this is my favorite post of the day. It IS posted somewhere. I know what you mean though. It needs to be someplace where it won't get lost.

Just scheduled another 25% off sale. Way too many bills right now. I really can't cut back on anything to save $$. IRS has the old hand out....plus all of the other bills.
But the snow is gone! tra-la-la!
