Thanks Liz! I didn't know about that one. This is another good one. They take retired military or police dogs that cannot be adopted out due to their training and place them in "retirement" properties owned by them. www.saveavet.org/

I'd heard about both in the past. I guess I just kind of forgot about it and there was a big convo about it in one of my FB groups. I know there are cat/doggie lovers here and I actually remembered to share this time.
I would love to adopt a MWD. Especially one puppies that flunked out of MWD school! But - Kenai would NEVER have that.

Our older GSD is actually a drug dog dropout. She was too laid back to be a cop. But I think she still retains some of her training. She alerts on some drug smells.
