I had my first zero bag! They only gave me 10.00 for the clothes and charged me 10.99 for the bag! So actually I owed them.
I know its not top quality stuff but that's insane!
They still have 4 of my bags that won't be processed until later this month and September.
I'm better off just donating myself or selling the stuff for dirt cheap. It was kind if nice having a back up plan but oh well?

Oh, man - I hope your other bags do better! I had $22 from my last one and a bunch of stuff they listed for consignment, but they do such poor presentation (half the time no measurements, and that's on expensive stuff) that it's almost worthless.
I have one more bag to go before they quit taking items and I'm thinking twice about it.

Yeah it was nice while it lasted. I guess it's useless for me to send anything else.

I think they have way too much stuff to choose from so they can get away with just giving a pittance for the mediocre stuff that they used to take and pay nicely for.
I have a bag that I ordered but I am not even going to bother sending it in.

I filled the last Thredup bag I had and dropped it at Goodwill, figured it would be better to take the donation.

Ugghhhh, sorry Jelly :-(. Have you tried Clothes Mentor? You may not have one though, I seem to recall your out in the boonies. It's like a Plato's for adult women. Ohhh, that doesn't sound good ;-) It's like a Plato's Closet, for adult women

We have Crossroads and Buffalo Exchange - good luck getting them to take anything, they're down in town and very $eattle $nooty. I'm giving Thred-Up one more try because that stuff has got to go.

There is also one called Style Encore. Most of it they won't take but a few new things they might. Thanks Zoe!

They only take stuff from the last 2 or 3 years, forget which & they have a book that they look up the tags in, but they pay cash, so that's nice. I'm sure it's not what Thredup used to pay though. I'd never used Thredup, but I used to be able to take things from the thrift to CM & make $$. But now the thrift has raised its prices.

DD's had pretty good luck taking her stuff to Crossroads. Last month she had a long talk to the person sorting her stuff; told her she was picking and expected that to be the end. No, apparently they LOVE their pickers and deal with them differently. She was very encouraging... surprised the Hell outta me! I didn't know they were a nationwide chain; they have a website/blog with a list of trending fashions to BOLO for when shopping. Turns out Buffalo Exchange has a list like that too.

I went to the Crossroads store in the Hawthorne district and it was ridiculously expensive. I think I got one thing. Maybe I should pack all my stuff up and take it down there, though, but honestly, for a couple of dollars an item and I have about 10 items they *might* take, I'm not sure it's worth it. Between the high thrift prices here and our possible tax bracket now that the DH is working, I might be able to get the nearly same amount of $$ as a write-off.

Yeah, that's the Crossroads she goes to. I'm with ya, I want more than 2-3 bucks each. But she's flipping stuff fast & furious for the next year while DSIL finishes his degree so money's money to her.

She's also closer to them and has a relationship - if there's profit in it I'd go for it, too. It's a two hour battle round trip by any means of transpo for me to get to the 'local' Crossroads here, which is down in central Seattle.
