I am not a believer in animal psychics so I wouldn't do it.
For $80 she had better guarantee to tell me exactly where the cat is and not some roundabout bullshit that tells me nothing concrete.

I don't believe in psychics and think they're nothing more than opportunists who prey on people.
I'd use that money towards a reward and plastering photos/signs all over the place. Or pay some kids to help you search.

I did watch the video. I don't know if it will work or if its genuine, but like All4Sale, I agree the worst thing is you could lose $80 and gain nothing. BUT, true hat if you do not try it, you could wind up thinking that you wanted to.
Every day I look at this thread hoping for an update MissP. I hope Bubby is trying to get home.

My vote is no. I believe that whatever happens is going to happen whether a psychic tells me or not. I don't believe in psychics or they would not be psychics but rich billionaires because they knew the lottery numbers.

Thanks for all those good points. @all4saleny you really summed things up.
I believe that some people are psychic. I also believe that 80% of those in the business are not psychic at all. I watch this particular one and I just "feel" that she's fake. I asked the friend who's used her to give me more details about what she said, and yes, it was more crap that anyone could have said. Except one thing - she turned to my friend's husband and said something about his "snow dog" being at peace. He'd had a Malamut (?) or something that died a year before and they swear they didn't mention him before the psychic did. They were there about the cats, so maybe that's true. But I also know that my friend has no idea what she lets slip out to these people. I've heard some of her readings and she's a totally open book.
With this woman, you ask three questions via email and send a pic. I don't know what questions I'd ask without tipping her off.
Alternatively, for the same $80 I can get a pet finding service to call or text or email my neighbourhood and all the members of its site. It would cover the bit of neighbourhood that we didn't do flyers in because we were betting she'd go the other way. What do people think? Would a recorded phone call or an email be less annoying?

I would go with an email because I think it works better and faster.
On my Neighborhood Nextdoor site there are always posts about missing/found pets and emails and posts fly. Plus you can put a pic of the animal in an email.
That 3 questions and a pic woman really sounds like a scam. Send me 3 questions, a pic, and $80 and you will get the same result.

I've used a pet psychic before, so I would use one, but not one I thought was shady. I also wouldn't use one where I didn't have a conversation with her. There's a famous animal communicator who's written several books that used to do readings. I looked it up, it was Penelope Smith, but IDK if she still does readings, she's pretty famous in the field. I don't have time to research as I have an appt. I do believe that some people have a gift, most don't. If I were going to do it, I would choose someone I have faith in & do it over the phone. No way would I do email, but that's just me. I think it's a small price to pay for some peace of mind.
Disclaimer: I've never used one in the circumstances that you are in right now. If you can afford it, I'd say go for it. But I would not go into it expecting that she will know where Bubby is, only that she may bring me some peace & comfort.

I forgot about all that Kat Power you got going on there. And I've heard that "Let's Go Fish" cards work better than tarot when it's cat-related.

I have a very strong feeling that there's some bastard trapping cats in the vicinity. Because Cat #2, Stray Cat, has been missing five days.
He was a wanderer, but since I started giving him his own food and letting him sleep inside he hasn't been away more than a night.
It's legal to trap cats in my state, the local Council even rents traps out, but it's not legal to KILL them. You're supposed to take them to the pound. Then if the owner can be found and wants the cat back they have to pay $180 or thereabouts.
Some guys do it by the book, but I suspect they're in the minority.
Anyway, I'm glad Stray Cat spent the winter with a full belly and a warm house to sleep in. He had a bad coughy-fluey thing and another winter outside would have been cruel. He was pretty much recovered by the time he went missing. I never touched him because I didn't want to get fond of him, (plus he wouldn't let me) but I spoke to him nicely and sometimes he got little treats on his own.
So I hope the prick who trapped him killed him (and Bubby) quickly. From what I've read these guys aren't into torture, they're just obsessed with having a pristine lawn.

What I think usually happens with these "cat relocation" jackasses is that they trap the cat that is making their life a living Hell and relocate to another area far from them.
We have so many really nice cats and dogs show up in my area that are definitely not stray by choice. Definitely dumped from somewhere else either by their owner or their "relocation specialist".

Hopefully somewhere in an alter dimension there is a cat trapping some asshole human. Kat Karma.
I'm so sorry Miss P.

One of my friends couldn't have a cat for fifteen years or so, because the guy who lived behind her used to trap and kill cats. He even used to throw poisoned meat over the fence onto HER property. He got a couple that way. When he finally moved the neighbourhood breathed a sigh of relief and went out to get cats. I'm sad to say I've never heard anything from these people other than "kill". But maybe they're just big-noting themselves and they use the relocation method instead.

I'm hoping Bubby will still make it home along with the other one now missing. Thanks, Dantes. Maybe someone did relocate. She may make her way back home. Or someone crazy person may be hoarding cats in the area out of "love". My point - don't give up hope. You can't dwell, but keep it alive because she may come back to you.
