A bit earlier than we had planned but Gunner was neutered Thursday. He also had an umbilical hernia repaired. We are taking turns letting the dogs out. A bit of a pita for a bit. They said 14 days. He is already going bonkers 😩🤣.
I was hpoing to wait wait until August but he has been getting a bit more alpha lately and I am hoping this will cool his heels.

Never would have guessed that dogs got them too! (((Gunner))))

(((Gunner and family))) Did you get testicle implants? lol. You know, so he'd still feel "manly"?

In fact the surgeon couldn't find it when we dropped him off but found it when they knocked him out. It wasn't problematic for him but it was cost effective to repair it while they did the neuter.

The rescue requires a $200 neuter/spay deposit and within 6 months after adoption, if/when you spaymor neuter and provide the receipt, they refund you the deposit. My vet charged $215 for the neuter so I made out ok except for the added umbilical repair. I was kind of hoping they might reimburse me for that but I did not push it or really mention it except on update posts all along.

Poor baby. I'm sure he'll settle down after he gets into the routine a bit.

Lamington (my cat) went from macho monster to purring softy. When I brought him home he rubbed against my legs for the first time ever.

It takes a bit for those hormones to leave his system. Good thing is he never started humping except dominance stuff and he never lifted his leg. We shall see. He is going bonkers.

But that's the amazing thing! With Lamington it was within 24 hours! Maybe dog hormones are stronger than cat hormones...
