If a buyer opens a return request for item not as described, is it automatically a defect? Or does the buyer have to open a case and then it becomes a defect?

Good luck if you try to fight it. I had all the ammunition I needed to fight one back in the fall, and CS hung me out to dry. Was promised 2x the "defect" would be removed. It wasn't! Gotta love eBay's devious wordsmithing...<sarc> a request is the same as a case when the issue is "NAD".

There is just no way to prove that it wasn't buyers remorse and that she wanted me to pay for return shipping. If I ask for a picture of the hole I am sure that she will just make one. So unfair but I am not going to let this ruin my day. So far defect has not shown up. I will keep you posted.

As of today I did not get a defect for this. I am counting my lucky stars. Strange huh?

I doubt if this is what happened, but it is about time for Spring Updates...Wouldn't it be nice if they made changes so that we could dispute the claim and only get a penalty if it wasn't decided in our favor? The way it used to be. I'm sure it's too much to hope for, but it would be nice to know if anyone else has experienced this. But I don't want anyone to get a SNAD request so we can find out!
