Thought it would be fun to have an ongoing thread to share our hobbies, craft projects, home improvements, latest cooking accomplishments, garden bounty, etc. So, when I'm not eBaying, I (occasionally) sew. Made this pillow up from some felted sweaters to use at work. I've been hunching towards the computer (I think b/c I need to break down and get real glasses) and my back has been bothering me, so thought some extra support would help. Also made this tote bag for my niece. Now I need to find time to make myself one.

I wish I was crafty but I'm really not. I do crochet but I only make blankets. I do like to cook new things. I'm always trying new recipes.

I run 5ks most weekends. ( slower and slower though). During the Summer we travel for fun little 5ks and we love to bike.
We have a little 22' motor home and love being in a different place every day or two. We seek out quiet places, no smokey camp grounds for us.
Needless to say, I can't do a lot of selling in the Summer.

That tote is really cute, I love the colors. I miss making things- before kids I used to make beaded jewelry, but I don't have the time or patience now.
Hmm. My spare time? Maybe in a few years when the kids are older. Right now, I chase after the four of them.

Fashion-do you have computer glasses? They are great.
I used to have an embroidery business before I got eBay-obsessed. I still do some of that for gifts. In the spring/summer....outside work takes all of my spare time. Mowing, cleaning the yard of constant maple & pine tree poop. Flower and veggie gardens.
It takes me a lot longer now that I have lost my energy.

When I'm not Ebaying or shlepping teenagers around, I like to make beaded jewelry, read, and...seems like I used to have way more hobbies...Hm. Perhaps I should examine that...

Wow, I love the pillow and the tote bag! I wish I was crafty, too. I used to cross stitch, I'm thinking about maybe stitching a little Halloween something for my daughter in Portland. I like to send her a fun seasonal package every few months, and I'm sure it'll take me a while to make, lol. We've also been remodeling the laundry room, and it's finally (after 10 months!) close to being finished! And the really fun part is when we remodeled the kitchen we got vintage 1964 St. Charles steel cabinets, and there were leftovers for the laundry room, and they will be housing most of my ebay inventory, so I won't have a laundry room filled with plastic tubs anymore

When I am not working on the country home OR trying to get this house ready to put on the market when we move to the country home OR working/playing with the dogs OR out playing in the snow OR wrenching on my truck, I am usually shooting something. Shotguns, rifles and handguns in the summer. Pellet/BB guns in the winter cause then you can shoot in a shed and not destroy everything. Bedtime is my reading time. When this whole two house/move/get everything done thing is completed then summers will be riding the Harley, riding the 4-wheelers and stuff like that. Fashion....that pillow is unbelievabley awesome!!

I use to sew a lot but haven't had my machine out in a couple of years, gotta get a place set up for it. Making pretty cupcakes and cakes is a good distraction. I also built myself a dough board pin for rolling out sugar cookies this past winter. I put a 1/4" trim around so they are always the perfect thickness. Absolutely love it.

It takes me a lot longer now that I have lost my energy. I have cheap-o dollar store readers that I mostly use and a few pairs of better readers from Marshall's or something that I don't like b/c they get caught in my hair when I put them on top of my head. I also realized I could pull the computer screen closer to the front of the desk. If I cleaned off the front of the desk.

I like to hike my beloved red rock country, searching out unique geologic formations & geocaches. Note the ammonite fossil in the foreground of the 2nd pic, it's a local "earthcache". I also do some nature photography & when my body allows, which hasn't been for awhile, I like to do raku tiles, a form of clay, that involves a lot of fire & unexpected results. I also shoot, but no pics of that.

When I'm not ebaying I do some volunteer work. Mostly hunger relief.
During the Summer, mainly late July to early August, my daughter and I hit a few of our 14'ers. And we also try to take a few day rafting trips. My other daughter and I cycle a bit. Once we get past the dirt roads it's good. I also work agility with my Border Collie. We don't compete at this point, it's mainly for fun.
And we're in the process of selling our house and once that's done we're building one next door on our property. So, Houzz.com is my friend lately.

Love those tiles - are they your pets' pawprints in them? Every year I say I'm going to find more time to go outside and explore new places with the camera, I should get on that.

I like baking/cooking in the colder months, gardening and walking the dogs in the warmer months. Also going to auctions and yard sales in the warmer months. I don't normally find anything to sell, so it's more of a fav past time.
We always have a home improvement project going as well. We're just about done with the upstairs bathroom. Moving on to the laundry room next.
We also have a hobby farm and do quite a bit of target practice.

I don't have any crafty talents like most of you. I have been learning to play the guitar and this is what I do mostly in my spare time. I also usually go for an 1-2 hour walk in our woods every day, but right now the snow is just way to high to walk in.
I do have a sewing machine, but I only use it to repair ebay inventory. I once tried to sew a pair of curtains. You'd think that's so easy, all straight lines, but I managed to have the seams inside out on one side. So I just gave up. I know how to knit and crochet, but I don't have patience for these things. I just can't sit still long enough.
I can cook and bake but it never looks pretty like the cupcakes above.

You all are so busy. How do you do it all?
Today I cooked. All day. My days were usually spent working at home and then carting kids. Now I only have one left at home but still a lot of carting/cooking.
But, my daughter is away at school and in April my son leaves for Germany for three weeks. No cooking, carting, or cleaning. I may not let him come back:-)

Love those cupcakes! They are too pretty to eat!
When I'm not ebaying, I work part time at an antique mall where I have a booth and 2 cases. I don't get a paycheck, but instead I get money off my rent. I also love to read, bake, garden when it's warm and spend time with my husband & 16 yo son.

Yes Fashion, those are my pet's pawprints. That was actually going to be my Ebay business, making the raku tiles both customized with pawprints & with just cute stamped pawprints, but I have a bunch of physical stuff going on that made it so hard to work with heavy clay. Now that I've had shoulder surgery, maybe I can start getting back into it. Of course it's more suited for Etsy now.
Geocaching is a great way to explore your town! I started exploring first & then geocaching, but it works in either order :-).
