I hate purchasing inventory that needs dry cleaning, as there aren't any discount cleaners around me, and spending an additional $15 for a dress kills the profit on all but the really high end stuff, of which I find very little.
I have an unusual boatload of dry cleaning I need to do from my vintage haul, and was figuring I'd have to onesie-twosie it out as things sold, and then the other night there came a knock at my door...
...and BEHOLD it was a salesman selling discount punch cards for my dry cleaners!
I bought two punch cards for $65, each worth a min of $180 of dry cleaning. There are 6 50% off punches, one of which I already used to clean 4 suits, 2 blouses, 1 jacket and 1 full length coat for $40 (believe me that's a deal around here). And I just turned in a heavily beaded Badgley Mishka gown I've been sitting on forever because of the ridiculous cost.
Thank you, Dry Cleaning gods!

We have a cheap-o cleaner but it is a pretty decent drive so I try to save stuff up and go a few times a year. They're also not great with stains so I chance hand washing a lot of stuff (obviously not lined things like suits though). Mostly I try to avoid stuff I think will need pro cleaning too.

Cleaning is so expensive here! When I was driving to Chicago to visit family last May, I brought two garbage bags filled with stuff that needed to be cleaned. Let's see. Should I pay $24 or $2.79 to clean that coat?

He works for Scripps Networks, which is the TV channels like Food Network, HGTV, DIY and several others. So, unfortunately he has to dress nice for work and I don't enjoy the task of ironing.
