It would be nice if eBay would remind folks to use care when conducting a local, in person transaction.
Of course, considering that eBay is trying to get on the buy/pick up local bandwagon, I don't see any sort of warning happening.
*sigh*

...so I read your post and wondered if ebay put anything about it on their announcements page - that doesn't exist any more. I just saw the page the other day, the last announcement I saw was sometime in 10/16. If you go to the bottom of the page and click on the 'Announcements' link, you go to the 'Community Announcements' page. That link is right next to the 'Community' link - shouldn't it be a sublink off that one? Which got me looking at the site map - WTH? pages.ebay.com/sitemap.htmlPlease note that there are no links to either ebay rules or ebay policies on that page, just one in the footer. I guess they don't know that people may want to look for a policy or two now and then. It's one big ad overwhelimingly geared to get everyone to buy on ebay. It's almost all listing categories.

That's kind of labor intensive for Isis, yes? It would be easier for them to build a bomb or just mow people down at a festival. Especially if they're going for a major kill. (I'm being kind of sarcastic)
Ebay should put this in announcements, but how many people are going to read it? Can the average buyer even find announcements?
The police, the news, etc... have warned people for years to be careful about local pick up. It's common sense. The police have asked people to do the transaction in their lobbies. Unfortunately people don't listen.
I still use Craigslist, but I'm starting to love the Facebook groups. You can get a bit more info about the other person.

ISIS tells people a lot of sh!t - they're a propaganda organisation as much as terrorist jihadists, and getting desperate as they're losing ground. We have a lot more to fear from domestic problems than getting snatched by a bunch of deranged faux-ninjas. And yeah, people don't use their heads and meet others in public places for exchanges.

Yes, exactly.
There are horror stories out there of local transactions. None have anything to do with religion/race/ethnicity. Just old fashioned home grown nut jobs.
