For some reason I got an email from them asking how likely was it I'd recommend a friend. I rated them the worst and followed up with fees being too high, unresponsive customer service and how difficult it was to list or edit high numbers of listings. I got the same e-mail. I also gave them the worst rating, explaining that the fees were too high and the hold on payments was too long. Here's the reply I got from them:
Christina O (Tradesy) May 8, 3:58 PM PDT Thanks for taking the time to give your feedback. We do appreciate you selling with Tradesy, and we can of course understand it’s never fun to pay more, but we’re confident that this adjustment will best serve you in the long run. We’re committed to ensuring that this increase pays for itself with a better selling experience and more sales for you. <snip> Thanks, Christina O Team Tradesy Why does that read just like how a huge tax break for billionaires will 'pay for itself by unleashing enough economic growth to cover lost revenue.'

What annoys me the most is that Tradesy only gives sellers 7 days notice. Ebay at least gives 30 days. Seven days - one week - that's insulting IMO. And very unprofessional.
They apparently have a very high opinion of the desireability of their site.

Sounds like another canned reply. I'm guessing A LOT of people are complaining about the fee increase.

So, it a bit over 1 hour Tradesy should convert to new fees. I'm curious of how everybody decided to deal with it. I am revising my prices, adding $2-4 to the current price depending on what the price is. So, if my current (old) fees would be $5, I add 2 or so. I feel like I am trying to patch a sinking ship. Sales have been a lot worse there lately and I seriously doubt all the "exciting improvements" will help as Tradesy says But I am not ready to give up just yes.

I added $5 to the price of about half of my listings. The rest I removed because they probably wouldn't even sell at the lower price, let alone a higher one. I just stuck things over there because it was free to list.
FWIW, I'm really not expecting any sales at all there anymore. I'm not adding anything new unless it's over $50.

I sold a dress last night/ today depending on the time zone. I am just figuring on the 7.50. We'll see.
I changed some of my prices but not all of them.

So I mentioned I was going to crunch some numbers and I did. I kept a record of the number of items for sale in each of 4 groups (clothing, shoes, accessories, bags) - active inventory only. Did that in each price group (under 25/25-50/50-100/100-200/200+) as of 5/4/17 - then again tonight. I have lots of details but not to bore you but some of the more interesting facts are - that a very very slight amount of items got pushed from the lower priced to 50-100 pricing structure Clothing total inventory went from 627K to 614K Shoes went from 238K to 236K Accessories went from 316K to 310K Bags went from 180K to 179K Totalling everything up it looks like they dropped about 2% in inventory.
Considering the fact that generally active inventory is always growing I would say that is a pretty significant hit.
If anyone wants all the specific numbers just let me know. (I am just anal and wanted to see what happened lol)
BTW, I went through and just added in the additional fees it would cost me to sell each particular item, be it $2 or $5, etc. Hey, as someone posted, so far there are no listing fees so if it sells, it sells!

Wow, thanks for posting that! I wonder if the company expected that or if they were surprised they lost the inventory? I would have loved to be a fly on the wall.

I'd be curious to see what the numbers are after the weekend, or in a week or so. If sellers over there are like they are eBay, many may not have read the email and won't notice the hit until a few things sell and they go to cash out.

I was already planning on comparing the numbers a week later.

If Tradesy is losing the lower/lowest tier items, I doubt they care, in fact I think that's one of their goals. What they want to see is an increase in the upper tier items, either in raw numbers or proportional to the entire catalog - that's what I'm curious about.

I just made my first sale after fees increase. I did raise the price of this item by $3-4. Ended up making $5 more than I would have on ebay.

I'm sure they'd rather sell more expensive items instead of the lower priced items. Wouldn't we all?! I'll be curious if it works for them any better than it does for me cause it's harder for me to source the "better" items. If they're marketing has been successful maybe it will attract the more posh stuff to sell as well as the buyers with deeper pockets.

We all would including every consignment store and online seller. The problem I see is that there are only so many high end shoppers buying from a retail store ( original owner). If everyone is clawing at the same group of people to source from. The source will dry up quickly. I found out recently that my cousin opened a high end consignment store. I hope she does well. I don't really talk to her but I wonder how she is doing. I know she loves Tory Burch. And she has her Daddy's deep pockets backing her up. Ok I went off on another topic there. Back to Tradesy, I'm sure the Shop Hers acquisition has helped push this along. I know if I list something they don't want on their site, they don't offer a suggested price. I'm happy selling high end when I find it which is very rare. But I really enjoy selling vintage stuff too also when I find it, which is almost as hard as high end.

I sell so little there it's really academic - but I have had some good sales on Tradesy when people just sit on their hands and watch on eBay.

I just got the survey. I wrote a novel telling them how they arent equal to the big boys or even Poshmark, which they seem to want to compare themselves to.

Oh lol. Not that it matters much, but still... it's not items over $50 than incur the 14.9% commission, it's items over $50.36. Just figured this out while listing a new item.

The only sale I've had in the last month there was today- cheap best offer. I took it - desperate for sales. I've only had one other this weekend, on all four sites.
