I just rolled shipping into my price and printed my own labels. I can see the writing on the wall. Just like with ThredUp. I ended all my listings on Tradesy today. I reopened my Shopify account and am moving things over there one at a time. At least I have buy buttons on Pinterest and a shop tab on Facebook. At the very least, I will put some stuff back on Ebay. I would love to say I am going to be a huge NastyGal success story with my own site, but we all know that likely wont happen. LOL Save

Be sure to utilize the Sell Your Stuff area as you put new things up. You can list 3 items per category, per store/site you sell on, per day. So if you sold on Tradesy, eBay and your own shop, you could do 9 listings daily, 9 new items.

Gang, if you use the tag feature and it does not show in blue then the member has not been tagged. Use the tag link to ensure your tag works. Those of us who signed up under one name but have a different screen name, just using the @ sign won't tag us.

You'll have to host the picture somewhere, but if you use imgur they have an option for bbCode that you just copy/paste.

Hi - I'm a brand new member. Just needed to speak my piece a bit. I don't know if you all realize that Tradesy charges commission and the paypal transfer fee on any shipping label you generate on your own. It breaks down like this: Option #1 - Sell a handbag for $50.00 and buy a Tradesy label @10.50 - Total sale price is 60.50 Fees you pay are 8.90 (17.8% x 50.00) Option #2 - Sell that same handbag for 50.00 and use your own postage @ 8.00 - Total sale price is $58.00 Fees you pay are 10.32 (17.8% x 58.00)
That is so WRONG! You encourage a sale by lowering the price a bit by way of saving customer on postage and instead you pay higher fees on the same $50 handbag.
I've had to go in and revise my listings accordingly. I know ebay charges fees on shipping as well, but Tradesy does not have to follow suit on ebay's poor judgment. Why not at least give a standard shipping allowance?
Maybe those of you who are Tradesy Business members can have a chat with someone in the company? Thanks all....and I'm enjoying reading all the posts!

Welcome Boris!
I agree, the fee grab has gotten out of hand. I get that they have to make a profit, but I dont like it.

Hi, Boris - it's definitely fee manipulation, particularly since they probably also take a cut of the overpriced labels.
I suspect it's probably why they're always pushing the designer goods - their cut is bigger - why do they want to bother with piddly little sales that might get returned? They'll probably also go the way of that site they purchased that some of us sold on - can't remember the name anymore - just clear off everybody's listings that don't meet some brand criteria but not let anyone know. Then ThreadBare ThreadUp will purchase them.

That's it - all that work went down the drain when they axed a lot of people's stuff from their site without any warning (that I knew of).

Aimee - that's a nice intro to your store, as well - a good, professional blurb.
