Just noticed this on Tradesy.
Due to a USPS rate increase on the Printable Shipping Label, your buyers will now pay an additional $2 for shipping which will be automatically included in your listing price
That's a hefty increase.

A $2 increase? How did they come up with that #?

How odd. There was an increase in January but nothing now.

I looked after seeing that message just to make sure there was no postal increase and I couldn't find anything.

I looked after seeing that message just to make sure there was no postal increase and I couldn't find anything. There was, back in Jan & also last June or July. If they don't increase at the time or use software, maybe they are trying to make up for the last several increases? I have no idea.

I just had my 1st sale on Tradesy, and used my own labels.

Their labels don't scan well, if at all. Also, think about it - they charge $8.50 to send the lightest thing by one of their labels (as I recall), meanwhile they're after us for a race to the bottom? Use our own labels and we don't have to be slashing any prices because for first class, absolutely it's about $4 cheaper (I think they mail everything priority). The fact that people use first class for a lot of things is probably why they gave that blurb that things must be insured.

I wonder if maybe they lost their bulk discount with the postal service or something. Doesn't Ebay get a bulk shipping discount with the PO that's what they pass on to us, maybe Tradesy was getting one and they aren't anymore because so many are printing their own labels so they are upping shipping prices? I don't know, that may be way off base and not make sense, it was just a while guess LOL

dutchjazz I don't see anything like that on mine. Is this only if you use their shipping, because I always use my own.

I use their label if it's going to cost me more than $8.50 to mail. Most of my items are "free" shipping.

I just went into one of my items that I knew for sure I was using their label cause it's a winter coat and it would cost me more than the $8.50 to mail. Now it's showing the shipping as $10.50.

I have always charged shipping on my items, even back in the free shipping craze. But even I would never put $10.50 shipping on an item unless it was a heavy winter coat or something. At that point I add to the price of the item.
I am telling you, I think they are trying really hard to make money for investors because they are in trouble. Raising selling fees by several %, now $2 per item shipped? Think about how much money they would earn by getting $2 more for every item sold.
I have never used Tradesy labels BTW and I ship everything PM.

And they put the blame for the increase on the postal service. That's BS! If they were going to increase the shipping they should've done it in January. Not 3 months later.

Honestly, everything that Tradesy is doing lately screams clinging onto life support... Yes, I think so too. I have a very bad feeling about all this. I am afraid soon we will all get emails thanking us for the wonderful years together and bla bla bla. Something very strange is going on with my sales. For almost about 1.5 years I was stable slow sales, averaging about 6 a week. Lately I get a burst in sales - like 6-7 in 2 days and then nothing for a week. Rinse and repeat. It starts to resemble ebay.

I would make sure you keep your accounts cleaned out as soon as you are able to. Or you may wind up one day waking up to them going bankrupt and everyone's accounts on hold.

I was supposed to have some funds available this afternoon, but now they are not available to withdraw and there's no time estimate on when I can get them.

The company deducts 14.9-percent commission from each sale when you keep your earnings on the site and 17.8 percent when you cash out to PayPal, your debit card or your bank account.
17.8% and they STILL wouldn't let you take your money?

Sounds to me like she may have a return.
But yes, they increased the commission to 17.8% and then raised the shipping cost by $2 an item.

I just rolled shipping into my price and printed my own labels. I can see the writing on the wall. Just like with ThredUp. I ended all my listings on Tradesy today.

There's nothing in my messages or email. Yes they usually do. But I cant think of another reason why they would be holding your money past the normal time frame. I did get a message recently that they will start holding payments for all sellers for UP TO 21 days. It could be anything honestly..... Save
