Good morning everyone. I read through this forum and it looks like Tradesy has changed a bit since it first started out. I just opened up a business seller's account and am verified and wrote my first listing . I've hard there's an ebay import available but it's not perfect? I haven't tried it but am considering it, sure would be easier than starting from scratch. Has this service gotten better? Any advice about how to succeed there would be so very appreciated.

I don't know how to import anything anywhere, so I just download my pics and copy & paste the Ebay description. I have Ebay open in 1 tab and Tradesy open in another. Usually only takes me a few extra minutes.

I think that's the way I'm going to go for now also, sunset. I see you have 232 items for sale and 30 sales. How many sales do you typically have a week or month?

I don't get a lot, usually 1 - 2 per month (I really don't list high end stuff, just b and b stuff). Others here get more sales. But last month I got 4. I just figured that the listings there didn't cost anything but my time so why not. I just post them on Tradesy as soon as I post them to Ebay.

I don't think there's an import feature anymore, Designer, and when it worked, it wasn't any great shakes (so I was told). I have about 115 items over there now - I'm shipping out a sale today but it's slow. Also, sometimes I don't do anything with it for months so my sales look pretty sparse. I'm keeping up on it more now.
It's a good place to get more eyes on your stuff.
Some general pointers:
Be aware - when you sell something somewhere else and delete it from your closet, make SURE it's deleted. Check back again later. I've had two incidents now where Tradesy has somehow reinstated a listing, someone purchased it and I had to cancel it - the last buyer was frustrated having had it happen to her too often. Others have complained about this. If you feature something, you have to take it out of the feature area AND the regular area - I think I know why and it's pretty wonky.
Also, their own labels are .gif files and frequently can't be scanned by the USPS - crazy. After a $110 sale which I sweated over because of yet another unscannable label, I vowed never to use them again. Also, their labels start at $8.50, I think (they bundle everything into priority weight classes), when we can send the stuff out for $4.50 or so for first class, and it drives up the overall price which I think is discouraging, on top of their nutty labels.

Chap, I just had them relist something that I had deleted AGAIN this week. I felt so bad for the buyer but there was nothing I could do.
I also use my own labels (printed through Paypal). It's cheaper than theirs.

I selected the "ship my own items" option. Do I still need to purchase postage through them?

No, you can choose any other place to print your labels (Paypal, Stamps.com, UPS, etc), then just enter the tracking number and method of shipping.

I find I sell more when I list more. And make sure you Tweet ad Pin and Post. Having a following actually does help.
I always do the ship my own and then ship through Paypal to get the discount.

Yes, just handle everything yourself - much better. You can enter the tracking number and delivery into the sale and it'll just update through there.

Tradesy is very simple. I have never used an "import" feature and I've heard sellers were having problems with it. It super easy to list there, just copy/paste from ebay, an entire listing takes less than 30 seconds. I like Tradesy. I've only once had to take a return for SNAD (buyer shipped it to Tradesy and they shipped it back to me at no charge), but it really was SNAD, an issue I missed, this makes it 1 and only problem transaction out of 612 I've had there. Items get returned to Tradesy all the time, I see quite a lot of them returning to Tradesy and they resell. I LOVE it. It's slow, sure. I have 1 sale there on average, sold 10 so far this month. And that 1K or so of income REALLY counts for me.
