I don't know about anybody else but I have a terrible time with categories on Etsy. Maybe it's the odd assortment of stuff I find. So tonight I couldn't find the camera section and posted about it on their bugs section of their forum. Someone helped me (really quick and politely) but I don't agree that it's a craft supply. They then cross-list it into electronics. Weird! Then another person posted a link to this master list. Thought I'd share here with anyone else lost in their maze. Here's a current master list of categories. May it serve you well.

They did an overhaul of their categories about a year ago and it was a disaster. They still don't have a definite category for postcards. They initially had them under Paper and Party supplies. They are being listed under about 10 or more different categories because no one knows where to put them. Honestly, how hard is Art & Collectibles-->Postcards. They have a category for Stamps there, but not postcards.

Do you know the path to that through the categories? Is that an option when you list a postcard? ETA: I found Vintage Paper Ephemera under Paper and Party Supplies, along with greeting cards. Vintage postcards are not Party Supplies.

I don't think of a vintage camera as a craft supply (unless it's being re-purposed as a clock or lamp ). They probably just stuck it there in their push to open their new craft & supply site in a few days. And vintage postcards are definitely not a party good but I bet you can find 'em in their craft store too.

Vintage postcards are not Party Supplies. Paper ephemera needs to be the top category with party supplies, postcards, etc under it. And however they distinguish between vintage and homemade.

Vintage postcards are not Party Supplies. I searched for ephemera which I would have thought would be a kinda 'main' category with all the vintage stuff that can go in it. Have you made any suggestions about the category layout on it?

The categories are a real mess. In vintage it's really bad because the breakdowns are really irrelevant because they use the same ones as hand made. Here's a post made by Trish one of the frequent posters on the forums and really sharp - she started the thread, and this is about what it's like now: www.etsy.com/teams/7722/discussions/discuss/18308132/page/1

They had a category change post in the forum for suggestions and they took very few of them into consideration.

I know - seems that way with Etsy, doesn't it? So many of their categories make no sense at all - no one is going to search for a camera in craft supplies or ephemera in party supplies. It's like they're completely ignorant of vintage.

Wow, the category craziness continues. I have sewing fabric & patterns listed in one of my stores. Etsy allowed me access to my store on the new Etsy Supply website. I have a piece of fabric listed in Sewing & Fiber- Sewing, and also under Quilting. Both were categories I chose from their drop-down menu. Great. But they also have it listed under Visual Arts-Dying & Batik- Fabric as well as Jewelry & Beauty- Jewelry Making & Beads- Material. WTH? I didn't chose those and wouldn't because it really doesn't apply. It's a printed juvenile cotton by Mary Engelbreit. I sure hope they pay attention to comments and reorganize their categories soon.
