Maybe I am behind the times and you all know this already, but there is now a "Cancel order" in the Action drop down choices for sold items awaiting shipment, and the buyer does not have to agree to the cancellation, and I get my FVF back.
I clicked on "cancel order" and it asked if I wanted to cancel because I ran out of stock or because the buyer wanted to cancel it. I chose "ran out of stock" (couldn't find the item), hit submit and the order was cancelled. I had already refunded it, and I got the following message in my inbox:
"You canceled an order from j74s91, and we already notified them. You already refunded the buyer for this order, so you're all set. Thanks for canceling this order for the buyer.
You'll get a final value fee credit in your account that you can apply toward listing more items to sell on eBay."
The buyer did not have to agree to the transaction.
I will probably get a defect, but I knew that going in.

I had to cancel one at the buyers request the other day and they had to agree to it. You just never know around here from one day to another.
