I'm doing my taxes so I had to look back over last year's sales on Bonanza. I got one.

Never was any good for me either. One, maybe two sales a year. I closed my booth when the PP changes went into effect.

Hate to ask it, but how often did all of you update your listings at Bonanza? Did you utilize any of the search engine functions over there? Did you promote your booth with any social media?
Way too many sellers dump eBay listings on Bonanaza, then don't do anything else to their store or listing. Bonanza gets some traffic, but you have to do a little more work over there to drive sales, like you would with your own personal website.

When Bonanza first got going, what 3 years ago now, I did sell a few things over there. But it has never big a big selling venue for me. Though I have heard lots of people say they do sell there. I just dont think it is clothing.....

I had costume (fashion) jewelry and scarves over there a few years back. When I'd list a few regularly, I'd have sales. Not many, but more than I was having on eBay in the same category.

Val, you got me thinking so I went back and read the info on advertising on Bonanza. Did you subscribe to any of the options and if you did, did you think it was worth it? I'm thinking of signing up for the Nextag and possibly bing ads, but I am finding the whole thing a bit confusing.

I've listed off and on at Bonanza since 2009. I was never overly active about marketing. I've sold one men's shirt in all that time. LOL! I did much better with some discontinued HBA items in 2012 and 2013. Not a super high volume, but easy to ship, easy to relist with a nice profit margin (especially considering the lack of work involved).

I closed my booth there because I didn't want to engage in the self promotion thing, though I think now you can subscribe for them to promote? Was on there for about a year maybe two years ago and quit.

I had more consistent sales in categories other than clothing. Although I did sell an SJ suit over there for somewhere around $350. I didn't sell it quickly, but I only moved it over there because it had more than 2 30 day re-lists on eBay. What I saved in fees was equivalent to almost 2 of my average eBay sales.
I would say I gave it a fair try for about 2 years. I still have a presence there, but it was only for two years that I put the in the same effort I put in with eBay re listing new merchandise, and MORE time/effort in marketing. Including making sure listings were optimized with Google attributes when listings were still fed weekly to Google Shopping. The best I ever did in clothing was about 20% of what I did at eBay in the same 30 day period.

It's been a long time. I had a few sales, not many. I used to play some tweeting game on one of their boards where we tweeted each others stuff. Didn't help much.

Last year I paid the $10 monthly subscription with no sales. This year I dropped it and just went with the freebie and have had 6 sales. I try to update every morning so I don't double sale something. I attribute those sales to Bonanza getting better Google exposure and the fact that they now have another credit card processor besides Paypal.

I've had several sales there, but not consistent. It's usually around the Holidays. Entirely my fault but I messed up on 3 sales I could have had there and had to refund the buyers. One was a good $49.99 sale for a CWC red knit shawl, also a J Crew skirt $29.99, and a sweater $28.99. Those are good sales for me. All had been sold on ebay 2-3 weeks before that time. WTH they had to choose those particular items I don't know, but I am more vigilant on deleting sold items now. Right before the Holidays I was not feeling well and had a series of neck injections and was not paying attention to much of anything. I even put my store on vacation for a week or so. I sold a pre-owned sweater on Bonanza on Dec 16 and didn't see it was sold until after Christmas. I figured it wasn't a gift.
I rushed to mail it out, wrote her an apology email and never heard back from the buyer. I have since then changed the email address as I was using a separate email for there and was not being very good about checking it. Now I am always checking in directly to the site and no sales since December - figures!

I double listed all my eBay items over there last September. I've had 14 sales since then, which is a lot more than I expected. I seem to be getting more the past couple of months. 8 of the sales have been since Jan 1. Nothing to really brag about, but if they continue to increase, I'm happy.
Edited to add that I have never used social media. I do update once a week or so, just takes a minute or less. I selected an option of paying slightly higher fees to have them promote more, but nothing really high. They have 5 levels and I chose the 2nd level, 6%. Maybe I should raise it up to 9% and see if sales take off.

I'm at the 9% rate... hasn't helped me that I can prove. How do you update each week? Maybe (well, probably) it's something I didn't know I need to do and should start doing it. I'm not promoting thru SM and it's something I NEED to do if I'm gonna succeed off-eBay.

Up at the top left side of the page, under Sell on Bonanza, select "Add or Edit Items." Then, on the next page, click on the green button over toward the right side of the page that says "Update Booth." Easy.

i love bonanza...have been on there a couple years. just got a *badge* for my 200th sale...astounding really..
i use their pay for sale google program:
1. you list your item 2. you sign up for the pay for google thing. i use the 12% BUT(CAPS INTENTIONAL) THEY ONLY CHARGE YOU 7-9%..AND YOU ONLY PAY FEE IF THE ITEM SELLS ON BONANZA!!!
3. i recommend trying this...make sure you do ALL their item specifics ...i always show up in their search.

Glad to hear you're doing so well there!! I've been there a year or 2 but haven't really worked at it. If you don't mind my asking, do you offer the free shipping they seem to want/expect? That little "percentage gauge" never goes over 65% for me and I know it's cause I'm charging for shipping.

I signed up at the beginning of last summer and have sold 8 items. I don't do anything to promote it and only have about 1/2 my eBay items up because it's such a hassle to fix them after you upload them and they have glitches like the wrong size all over the place. I have the second level of promotion so I pay a bit more than the basic level if I sell something. I also signed up for amazon payment to see if that would help and I've only had one sale paid through them to date. I haven't paid a lot of attention to it as I have so much left to list on eBay. I'll update Bonanza when my store is filled, another 40 or so listings.

hi...you go into your bonanza and over to the left...top...is ADVERTISE items.
you click on this and then about 1/3 down the page is google shopping...you click on this. THEN you go down further on SAME page and click on the percentage. i use 13% and bonanza charges me only 6-9% per item sold. great deal!
if you have multiple websites...make sure your bonanza one is at the lower priced end of the stick or you won't be taking advantage of the ad words.
you are then ONLY charged a fee for what sells. this is NOT per click google sales. it gives your item great visibility after about 3-5 days for the crawler to capture it and then...i just wait and am pleasantly surprised.
i use the

I hate Bonanza. They pulled a listing of mine for authenticity and when I wanted to send in verification, they told me no. They don't reverse their decisions. No biggie as I sold it the next day on ebay, for a great price and feedback. They were my shoes, still had the receipt. I have sold 2 items in my short history with them. I didn't get thrown off, I just chose to leave. They did admit that they pull listings on a report alone, no actual looking is done to the listing. Screw that.
