Just got this email:
Hello, Seller!
Thank you for being an established (and fabulous) seller on Shop-Hers.com! We love your closet and know our members do too!
From time to time, we continue to refine the list of brands on the website based on preferences and feedback from our members. Taking cue from the community, it is time to remove some brands that are (though fantastic) less shopped, less luxurious, and less loved.
You are receiving this email because you have items in your closet from brands that we will no longer be accepting on Shop Hers. No action is needed on your part, we have delisted items from the following brands for you:

I just got this? Burberry? DVF? They must be flooded with sellers. Though not sure what people will sell there now.

Jeez. WTF is left? I don't like the whole "we've removed these items for you" bit. The least they could do is let the existing listings run their course and tell you you can't relist them. I was going to try listing some stuff over there (if I have anything left that qualifies) but it doesn't seem worth it if they're constantly dumping brands.

I just looked and there is still quite a bit left they take. But it seems as though they are wanting the REALLY expensive brands. Chanel, Hermes, Burberry Prorsum.
But then they allow Aquascutum???

I know, I'm kinda pissed. I had a lot of stuff listed there only, and now I can't even get my descriptions to copy and paste elsewhere. I'm going to have to pull them all out and measure again. It sucks.
More than half my listings there are gone.

I guess the bright side is that it's better than last time when they didn't bother to tell us at all that they'd taken a bunch of listings down.

"less luxurious" WTH?
They should have simply said, "less shopped and less loved". Would have sounded reasonable. But putting in the "less luxurious" part makes them sound condescending and stupid.

Yeah, about half of my listings are now gone. Good thing I sold my Max Mara coat and Longchamp bag last week. Both sold pretty quickly and at good prices - $350 and $120 respectively. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

Honestly I think the Ebay sellers are slamming these sites with merchandise. I also think that many of them are making rather bad business decisions as a result, but of course that is my opinion. and they dont seem to share or care.

Guess they don't want us fat ladies shopping there as I see almost no plus size brands, not even the expensive ones.

I have a feeling it's not so much about being flooded as it is about their return policy, where people return items and it's not the seller's problem. I can just imagine that people are returning LRL and some of the other brands and they get them back and it's a PITA for them to relist a bunch of used LRL for not much return on their labor AND they've already paid out on it. Anyway just a theory.

Yeah, never really got that part of it, from a business standpoint. Seems like it is a lot of Shop Hers $$$ hanging out there on the returned items, and not really knowing if the thing will sell again. The labor involved in accepting the return, listing the item (do they use the original sellers listing?) and repackaging when/if it does sell is pretty high.
As a seller, I'm loving the concept. But I still hold my breath thinking that some how Shop Hers will reach into my bank account and take back the funds on something I've already sold that someone may have returned lol!

Well, my days there are over as quick as they started. I had just started listing my Ralph Lauren over there. They won't even take the pricey RL labels anymore. Sad.

Is it weird that I am still pizzed about this? I know it is their business but just pulling listings without warning smells like ebay.

Oh good grief.
I just got a message from a buyer on Shop Hers asking if I still had something that got taken down. I replied saying I did, and that I could list it on Tradesy or eBay for her. It would not let the message go through, I got a thing saying "We ask that you only transact on this website".
Well, I'd love to transact on your website, Shop Hers, but you decided this item wasn't high end enough for it. What the heck am I supposed to say?

Anyway just a theory. Yes - they specifically stated that it has mostly to do with returns. The labels they cut are the ones they find costing them money. I'm not entirely sure they know what they're doing, but we'll see I guess. Odyssey - did you get that transaction worked out? If not, LMK.

Shop Hers has sure upped the spam lately, I'm getting like 6-7 emails a day from them trying to advertise stuff. Maybe they aren't doing so well since they wiped out half their brands.

You can turn those off. I don't get anything from them except once every few months or so asking if I want to participate in a sale.

Thanks, I'm off to go figure that out. I'm getting so many now that they're automatically going in my spam folder anyway.

It's strange. I haven't sold anything since they cut out more than half their store. And when I search specific brands before I list something there, it looks like they have very few items per the brands left. I just don't see how this can be viable for them. It looks dead to me. Anybody have an impression about how things seem to be going there? How have your sales been there lately?

I haven't sold anything since then either. I thought it was just me but seeing all those emails every day made me think they're hurting.

My armchair analysis: they ticked off their core user base, and sales plummeted. Shocking!

Two days ago I had an offer on a Missoni coat I had listed there. I countered and she made another offer in between the two, which I accepted. Then crickets. Buyer had 24 hours to pay. Never heard from her again. That would have been my first sale since the mass dumping.

Just had my 2nd sale there since the dump also. It was a faconnable shirt (imagine they still keep that?) Sold it for a $20 offer. The way ebay is going they're probably down to $14

I just went into my spam folder and saw all the emails from them. Guess I need to clean it out more often. Everything they send seems to be about Chanel and Hermes.
