I found this mid-century Christmas ornament after The holidays last year and haven't been able to find out anything about it and haven't seen a picture of one similar. Does it ring a bell with any ornament collectors? ETA- I should probably add that it looks like blown glass, silvered on the inside. The cap isn't original; I grabbed a cap from one of the broken ornaments that it was laying with in a box. I've searched online and haven't found one like it but haven't consulted a Christmas ornament collectors book. SaveSave

Wow! I have no idea what that is supposed to be. Very unusual!

If you turned it upside down it resembles the old tree toppers popular mid century. They were much taller. I wonder if this one broke & they made it into an ornament. The metal cap & hanger look a little unusual.

I bet it was a tree topper!
There is one here in the middle of the page.

Dawn, I don't see the image you see; my Google search isn't showing me anything similar. Was it on a website or an image search? Now I want to create a mountain of white spires in a bell jar or display my old toppers in candlesticks. Searching vintage Christmas decorations is VERY dangerous for me, lol. Last time I did a search I ended up buying vintage paper fish ornaments lol.
I just can't see it being a spire because small metal end cap fit on it perfectly. The end is a little jagged but that's common in older glass ornaments. The end is only 1/4" wide. That's way smaller than any of my other toppers. And DH pointed out that most people weren't gonna buy a trident-shaped topper for their tree back in the day tho it's super atomic looking for a 50s tree.

Darn it. It was just a google search. It was identical to yours but it had a little metal angel on the middle prong and the part that goes on the tree was longer. I will see if I can find it again.

That's it- thanks so much Dawn! I just never even thought about it being a topper so I've been searching it as an ornament off & on for a year with no luck. I'm going to keep it and hang it as an ornament this year unless I manage to find a feather or mini-tree between now and Christmas. Thanks for your help!!!
