I have been ordering from Keurig ever since a friend gave me her old Keurig brewer.
When it had problems, even though it was out of warranty, they sent me a new one. And when that one had problems out of warranty, they sent me another new one....also for free. (Each machine lasts at least 3 years.)
I like to order k-cups online with their 20% off specials. But since I started my lovely chemo butt-shots 4 years ago, all flavors taste terrible, except for the extra bold.
I have been watching for a special that could be applied to the sample packs, and want to order several 5-pack samples to see what flavor would be tolerable for me.
Just talked to a Keurig rep and asked if they ever had sales on samples, but they don't. But she did email a coupon for 2 free sample packs!!!!
How nice of her! What a great company!
I should add that I figured out why the machines were breaking. I use the refillable cups a lot and if I overfill those, the grounds get into parts that clog up.....duh.

I have a Keurig and love it!
Finally bought the reusable filters so I can use my own coffee. Those K cups get expensive fast. A discount store was selling them for .35 a piece so I bought a bunch of them. Someone posted about this on one of the buy sell FB groups and they got wiped out. I hate those groups sometimes.

I paid a lot for my reusable one, but just saw them at Big Lots yesterday -- a 3 pack for cheap.
I only fill them 3/4 full now since the grounds will expand with water.
I like the bold roast at Aldi, but they are always running out of it.
For anyone buying a brewer-be sure to register it online. Then you get a BOGO offer....buy 2 big boxes of k-cups, get 2 free. For each of my 3 brewers, I was able to get the BOGO offer.

I got mine last spring. We've used it so much more than I ever expected, but after the holidays I'll never be without one. When we had company everyone got a fresh cup of coffee no matter what time they got up. I didn't have to make a pot of tea for the non coffee drinkers and hot chocolate for the kids on the stove (although I will admit homemade cocoa always tastes better than what you make with water). I had K cups for what everyone likes and they had their favorite hot drink in hand in a jiff.

We use it almost every night. Hubby has one kind I have a different one. That's what so great about it. I can usually get a good deal when Kohls has the 30% off coupons, so I stock up. They are usually on sale and with the extra 30 it is a good buy.

Thanks for the tip on getting the cups at Kohl's. I have the reuseable filter, but we've gotten really lazy and spoiled using the cups so I keep buying them. It's cheaper to buy cups if you're one who stops on the way to work and buys a coffee every day, but we aren't. Even the kids use travel mugs and take coffee from home.

I sort of want one, I don't drink enough coffee to justify it though and I have a weird hang up about too many things on my counter tops.

I love mine too! I drink 2-3 cups a day from the Keurig (sometimes more). I buy the k-cups online - usually the biodegradable cups so I'm not putting all that plastic in the landfill. I love em and can never go back to brewing regular coffee.

We love our Keurig so much. I drink 2 or 3 a day. We have store near us now called "Cup of Joe". You would love it. You go in and get a plastic rack that holds 24 cups. They have bins and bins of all different kinds of coffee. You fill your rack for 14.99. Mike and I each fill a rack every two weeks and bu a box of either Marley Green or Starbucks Blonde. Love it!

I was looking for tea cups and came across this: www.survivingthestores.com/k-cups-best-price.htmlI just got 3 boxes of 12 for $12 ($4 per box) at Harris Teeter, so I can get them locally for 33 cents each if I really watch the sales and stock up. One of the brands on sale was Folgers which came in the flavored coffee the kids like, like Mocha and Caramel.

I use it for recipes too instead of boiling water for jello, etc. Also if you don't want to spend the $$ on the k-cup teas, you can just put a regular tea bag in the coffee slot, let the string hang out, and it makes a good cup of tea. Same thing with hot cocoa, you can just use the envelopes, pour the powder in the cup, and just dispense with the hot water.
I had a Keurig way back when they first came out - everyone who visited thought I was crazy and no one would get one no matter how much I pushed it. Now they all have them!

Way back when, I had sites bookmarked for k-cup specials, but none of the sales were great. Will have to keep an eye on these. Sure wish I could tolerate the flavored stuff. I loved those.

I'm making my list for Sam's, and I want to include a coffee drink my niece likes but can't think of the name of it. So I browse the K cups on Sam's website. The brand is Grove Square. They're not really a coffee, more like a hot flavored (vanilla, caramel, etc) drink. But she likes them so I buy them for her.
The reviews catch my eye and I decide to read the 3 that are only one star. Overall the product has great reviews. This is not a great review:
WARNING !!!!! Do not buy these FREEZE DRIED COFFEES for your kREURIG machine, they are freeze dried coffee and it will damage your machine, it ruined mine, I called Kreurig and they told me to never use freeze dried coffee in the machines. They did replace the machine for me under warranty, but stated they will not do it again for me if I use the freeze dried coffee's. I thought my machine was going to explode !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WARNING !!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT BUY THESE FREEZED DRIED COFFEES.....
We, better than anyone maybe, know that there are some crazy consumers out there and nothing is ever their fault. And she probably did tell the rep she bought freeze dried coffee and the rep advised her on that 'fact' that probably wasn't a fact. But now I'm wondering if I should buy the darn things again. I've tasted these Grove Square 'cappuccinos' and a brand called Cafe Escapes my niece also buys. They seem to be pretty much exactly the same to me and the Cafe Escapes are sold on the Keurig site.
Has anyone heard of any of the off brand cups being bad for your machine?

I like to read the negative reviews on things also sometimes to see if there's perhaps a common problem.
But God only knows what that person actually used or how she used it lol.
I've never heard that & I think we've used them before. I really think as long as they are actual k-cups designed for the machine, it's fine.

I bet if I were to open one of the cups it would be a powder mix. I suspect they're a lot like those Maxwell House International coffees that you mix with hot water.
I agree with you. The buyer probably told the rep she bought a K cup (not Keurig brand) with freeze dried coffee inside and the rep said "WHAT???!!!! You can never use freeze dried coffee, it will ruin your machine!!!" When there was never actually any freeze dried coffee involved. Or some scenario like that.

I just opened on of the K-cups I have in a flavor I will never drink. It's literally just finely ground coffee grounds - not freeze dried (they don't dissolve in my mouth). It's more like a turkish grind. I don't know about the flavored variety you are talking about elly, but why would the off brand be THAT different from the keurig brand?

I don't know about the flavored variety you are talking about elly, but why would the off brand be THAT different from the keurig brand? According to the reviewer the difference would be what they're putting in the cup. This particular off brand anyway.

She probably used freeze dried coffee in one of the fill your own cups. It's not the same kind of grind as regular coffee so it makes sense it wouldn't work well in the keurig.
I use the non keurig brands in my machine all the time and have never had an issue. But they are made to work with the machine so I don't think there could be a problem with them.
I put my old Keurig out in our workshop and have a box of the Great Value (Walmart) brand Donut Shop coffee there for the guys. They drink a LOT of coffee and a box of 48 of those is less then $16, so for 33 cents a cup I can let them have all the coffee they want. It's 100% arabica and a medium roast. It makes a good cup of coffee.

It turns out there is a bit of a story here. But it really doesn't have anything to do with the review. Grove Square (Sturm foods) and Keurig are not the best of buddies. Grove Square coffees and cappuccinos are, as I suspected, instant coffee. (Instant coffee can be freeze dried or spray dried).
The problem Keurig had with Sturm - this was prior to the patent expiration - is not how they dried their instant coffee, or that it damaged the Keurigs, but that it is instant coffee and wasn't being marketed as instant coffee. Keurig brand K cups contain real ground coffee with a paper filter in the pod, and they want(ed) all K cups to be the ground filtered coffee associated with their branded cups. The Grove Square 'coffee' wasn't good for Keurig's reputation.
So there is some bad blood between the two companies, but as far as I can tell there is no problem with a K cup that contains instant coffee.

But I could swear that Keurig made this refillable cup, right? I paid $15 for it!
When Aldi first started to sell the k-cups, I read several reviews that said they were too cheap and exploded in the machine and ruined it. But I have been using Aldi brand k-cups as long as they have been selling them....with no problem.

Keurig does make a re-useable filter. I don't know if there are any off brand versions*.
I Googled defective K cups and did find complaints of multiple brands of pre-filled pods. Even Keurig's own Green Mountain. But there were no recalls of specific pods that I read about. Just bad batches in different brands I guess.
ETA:* There are off brand versions.

Val - do tell how burping your Keurig goes??
If you get a new machine the 2.0 you can only use the Keurig owned cups. We were told about that at "Cup of Joe". They have so many varieties they of course don't want us buying the new machine.

Have to add to this that I triple heart Keurig!!
I was having problems ordering and it wasn't working, so they had a tech check into it. I received an email today that they had solved the problem.
So I ordered several samples of bold flavors, went to check out and the whole shopping card went blank!
So I called Keurig again and the tech helped me to order the samples again and he gave me a coupon for 2 free 24 Count Boxes!!!!!!!!!!!
So for $27 I am getting over 100 k-cups! AND free shipping.

I got one on CL for free, new in the box. We actually did a swap, I got rid of a child's old broken rocking chair and got a new Keurig! It's the single serve one, not the big one.
