Okay, just last week opened a store on ETSY to help unload my estate sale vintage haul. All day I've been going back and forth with a "customer" about my Victor Costa dress. She insists it's a different color than it is, and that it has a slip.
I state clearly in the listing the colors, and that it's sheer. No slip. Needs one for wearing.
She says she bought the dress before and it had a slip. Yes, I say, perhaps it did. But mine does not. Maybe if she has the dress already she can use that slip?
Augh. At least there's no stupid feed back system.
Oh, and she wants a lower price. I gave her one, but she wants it lower.
They don't do returns of ETSY do they?
sheesh.

I don't know what Etsy policy is, or if they force their sellers to adhere to any site wide policies. But if you take PP you're subject to their claims process. Although when I sold on Bonanza I never had to deal with one. I think it's primarily eBay buyers who jump straight to case mode if they're unhappy.
If you're done negotiating, I would probably cease contact and see if she wants it enough to meet your price. She'll probably come back with the number you were willing to accept.

I wouldn't keep going back and forth with her. I assume there's no way to block a bidder there? Sounds likes she's going to be a PIA if she does buy it and find flaws to push an even lower price. I would probably tell her I don't think she'd be happy with the dress and you'd prefer to cease communications now.

I think returns are up to the seller on Etsy. I've returned a couple of things.

I've never dealt with a return on Etsy as a buyer or seller, but AFAIK they don't have a returns system like eBay's. Etsy also doesn't have anything like the defect system, so if one buyer negs you it doesn't affect your standing.
Just curious, what color does she think it is? It looks black w/ gold, silver and (maybe) copper to me...

She doesn't say what color she thinks it is...just keeps wanting me to reiterate the color scheme. She kept wanting more photos, and when I asked exactly what she wanted to see, she dropped the request...
Her last email stated that she gave the other dress with the slip to her sister. I didn't respond.

Sheesh what a PITA.
The dress probably came in several color ways and she just had a different one.
Can you block buyers on Etsy?

I think Etsy wants the both parties to work things out and doesn't allow blocking without some communication called "kiss & make up" or something cutesy like that. Since I just wanna sell stuff, I don't block bidders on a lark; they have to provoke me or be proven PITAs first. Kissing & making up is the last thing I wanna do in those cases.

Etsy doesn't have a block feature, but you can cancel a transaction and refund if you don't want to sell to that buyer. www.etsy.com/help/article/4553A seller may cancel a transaction under the following circumstances:The seller has decided to refuse service to the buyer, and if the buyer has already paid, the seller has issued a full refund, including shipping.

Okay, here's the silver lining to this issue...
This buyer made me take out the dress and reexamine it, to make sure I wasn't the insane one. I did verify that I'm not. Not with this, at least.
Well, I discovered some minor damage to the fabric - it's really hard to see, as this fabric sort of looks damaged to begin with. So. I will disclose, reduce the price (I paid almost nothing for it) and make this buyer happy. And me, as I need cash.
