on either Ebay or PP?
I am trying to ship a 3lb pkg to the east coast & trying to save her a bit of $$. It won't fit in a flat rate or RR box. When I go to USPS.com, there's an option called "USPS Retail Ground", which I think is the old parcel post, but I need to know if I can print labels for those on either Ebay or PP cuz I'm not going to the PO & standing in line for her LOL.

Retail ground is only available at the post office. The online equivalent is Parcel Select. They do have different rates, but not by much from what I read.

That's what I thought. Thanks Jeremy!
As it turns out, I shaved off enough by moving it all into a different box to at least get it in the 2lb rate, instead of the 3lb rate, so she s/b happy.

Years later but in case someone is wondering - what jeremy said isn't true now. USPS Retail Ground was put in for an item I sold and the postage given to the buyer was $32.59. When I imported it into pirateship, it shows up as usps priority only with $65 as the cost. Switching to USPS parcel select, it's $.30 cheaper. I've been having a heart attack here trying to figure out WTH ebay got 'USPS Retail Ground' from and why I can't print the postage. And it's pouring here today and I'm gonna have a sick cat with me.... I REALLY wanna go to the post office and stand in line today.

Retail ground is a lot cheaper than parcel select for packages over 1 cubic foot. Parcel select isn't much cheaper than priority - a few cents, maybe. It used to be that parcel select was better than priority for packages over 1 cubic foot, but I'm not sure how that works now. Everything I ship parcel post is usually abot 20 lb and over sized, and I have to take it into ship it retail to still get the cheap rate.

I had the same experience as unknown a couple of weeks ago. USPS Retail Ground was significantly higher than Parcel Post (and caused cardiac arrest for a few minutes when the parcel post price showed up when I went to print a label). If your package weighs over 2 or 3 pounds and has any size to it, it's very important to review your shipping options to include USPS Retail Ground. It does mean standing in line, but the other option is that your item probably won't sell! So far as far as I know, Poshmark is still an option to sell an item like this at a better shipping cost. Right now their only requirement for the cheaper label is that it's under 5 pounds. I expect that will change at some point.

somany - do you mean USPS? I find the USPS retail ground to be a better deal than UPS ground, and faster.
